My daughter wanted Indian food and we landed here tonight. Super friendly staff, very clean restaurant and a simple yet packed menu. The girls got chicken Tikka masala medium heat. Very good portion sizes. The Mrs got shrimp coconut curry mild heat and I had (forgot what it's called) Mirchi Mirch or something similar in name, hot spice level. We added garlic and cheese Naan and Masala fries. Everything hit the spot and the portions were big enough to have lunch tomorrow as well. We will certainly be back. Very very good.

Tarka is a fast, affordable, and a casual spot to go get Indian food. I love getting a few dishes and sharing them with friends. My favorite dish was the Tikka masala paneer. You have to get a side of naan! I ordered medium spicy on everything and it was pretty mild spice. You order at the front and they bring you your food to your table.

We ordered the Saag Paneer, Vege Korma, paneer biryani rice (kids menu), and garlic naan. Saag paneer & the paneer biryani rice was pretty good. Vege korma was quite underwhelming and not the typical Navratan korma with orange gravy we get at other restaurants. This one was more of a white coconut gravy. Unexpected. Garlic naan isn't your traditional type of Naan at all. It's more a thin flat bread with brushed olive oil & garlic. This was very disappointing. This place seems to be run by non Indians and hence lacks the Indian touch of how traditional naan is supposed to be - soft & fluffy. Portion sizes are also very small of the entrees, even when they are priced at $11. Not really shareable with anyone else.

I was in this part of town to have an MRI in anticipation of my upcoming shoulder replacement surgery. I decided I wanted to stop for lunch somewhere, and I was craving Indian food. I went to maps on my iPhone and did a search for "Indian food near me". This place showed up and was only a few miles away. I guess I would classify this as Indian fast food. The reasons being, that you order at the counter, seat yourself, get your own drinks, and your food comes out really quickly. However, there was nothing fast food about the food itself. I had the vindaloo with lamb meat. It was very good. I also had a garlic naan with it. I thought I had ordered some samosas, but when I checked the receipt, I realized I didn't. That was both good and bad. On the one hand I didn't get to try the samosas. On the other hand, it would've been way too much food! The restaurant was very comfortable. It was brightly colored and very casual. It is the kind of place that you don't feel the least bit funny about eating alone. I will definitely be back.

Our new go to place for Indian food. The cashier was welcoming and patiently walked us through their menu. The restaurant was clean, inviting and comfortable. Our favorite was the coconut curry and garlic naan. I could eat that everyday!

I've always wanted to try this place but wasn't sure I would like it. Finally tried it and it was great! First time I went, the place was clean and employees were really helpful when I asked about menu items. Food was delicious and filling. The location is great and the inside is spacious and clean.

Finally came by to try this place for lunch and the lady was very helpful in guiding us what to order. Food was filling and next time I will up the spice level as I had requested medium with the Chicken Masala. Indoor seating is similar to a fast food place but there is a small outdoor area. The iced Chai Tea was good not too sweet, just right.

One of my important things when trying a new spot is the service and I can truly say everyone here was so kind! They have a wide range of items on their menu so I ordered lamb tikka masala 4/5 and regular naan 5/5. The tikka masala came with rice and it was really good 5/5. Additionally I tried their strawberry lemonade and mango lemonade, I liked the mango one the best! I loved the ambiance because it wasn't loud or busy. This is a good spot to sit with your laptop with friends or solo to catch up on those items on your to do list lol.

Tarka is no Biryani Pot, but it's pretty good for chain Indian food. I enjoyed my meal a lot. I had the chicken tikka masala plate with tikka masala fries. Both were piping hot just how I like it. The flavor wasn't as strong as you would get at a typical non-chain Indian place, but it was still pretty tasty. The service was great. I loved the whipped mango lassi, it was like ice cream. Next time I go I'd love to try the mango lemonade and the mango cheesecake. I do love how everything is labeled gluten free, vegetarian, etc. That is really nice of them to do. My husband didn't like that it felt "corporate", but that's just what you get with chains like these. Not bad, in my opinion!

Finally had an opportunity to try Tarka and was very happy I came by! The employees were really nice it is a quick service restaurant but the employees were still super helpful. I came with my husband and some friends and we ordered a few apps/entrees to eat family style. For apps we ordered the tikka masala fries with the tamarind sauce and ketchup. I'm a tamarind fan but didn't love that sauce. We ended up using the Desi ranch and oh my that combo was amazing. Highly recommend that. We also got the samosas with the mint chutney and that was really good as well. For mains we got the tikka masala with chicken and paneer. Both were good but our fav was the paneer. We also got the chicken vindaloo and it was tasty as well. We ordered medium but it wasn't really spicy so I would say the spice level is really low compared to a more authentic Indian restaurant but this was very delicious and I would come again.

For fast casual Indian food at an affordable price, 10/10! It wasn't the best Indian we've had (because that is found at fancier places), but if you're looking for some solid food and not break the bank or have a long sit down meal, this is your place. The kid menu tikka masala came with a drink and was enough for an adult. My husband got the adult portion with no drink and it was probably 20% more food MAYBE. And double the cost of the kid one. The samosas were delish, the fries were FIRE!!!, the covered samosa (for name), naan, Dahl... all so good. Would definitely return but we're visiting from out of town and we don't have one in Scottsdale. So bummed. Premium sodas and juices and even Indian beer on the menu and all affordable. To save some cash, check in with Yelp (10% off order) or sign up for rewards and get a free appetizer--cheapest will come off so the fries because they're $3.50. Can order at a kiosk for us introverts who know Indian food or at the counter if you have questions. So many vegan options and clearly labeled on the menu. If only all places did that!!

Service was good as well as the ambiance! Walked in wanting butter chicken but it isn't on the menu, strange. Fries were alright, a cheap frozen fry. Tiki Masala was flavorful but a bit heavy, the butter naan was excellent!

At first it did take me a moment to find the place as the building itself doesn't say the restaurant name (written on a chalk board) but thankfully found it and came at a time when it wasnt crowded. Inside definitely doesn't give restaurant vibes. It gives more of a home vibe and has alot of board games and crayons/paints you can do. Also they have a game console in the back which is pretty cool if you like playing Mario cart. It did seem a bit dark inside as not much lights were on but once sun came out was able to see. The guy that took our order was very nice and helped us understand some of the items on the menu. He even gave us a discount for being first time customers which I appreciated. It take take some time to get our food but when we did it was all fresh and hot. We had ordered a few tacos. My brother had the phish tacos and they were actually pretty good. It almost tasted like real fish and definitely would consider getting the next time I visit. They also have us some salsa which was also delicious and tasted great with all our tacos. I did like the potato and egg I had too. It did throw me off when I tasted it with corn tortilla but it was still good. I prefer potato and egg over the bean and cheese but that's just my preference. I did order the pozole soup with jack fruit and tasted pretty good. It looked really pretty and alot of good stuff in the soup. I do feel it needed some more lime or something else but it was good regardless. Overall it was a better experience than I expected and my family even said they would consider coming back here. Can be pricy depending what you order but worth a try at least once. Another good vegan restaurant.

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.

I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Also side note, the homemade "ginger ale" tastes like straight ginger soaked in water so I'd recommend against ordering that.

Hugo served us, and he was very polite and helpful. The decor, murals, and paintings were all wonderful. All of the food was so delicious and fresh. The nachos appetizer was huge! It was a gorgeous mountain of food. The three of us couldn't finish the large size. The chips were crispy and the toppings were yummy. I can honestly say that these are the best nachos that I've had in San Antonio. I ordered the soft "chicken" taco plate. The "chicken" had a great texture, and the corn tortillas were excellent. The rice and salad were also good. We really enjoyed the beans! My dining companions ordered the kids' chicken tacos (which was a huge serving, and she took one taco home), and the cauliflower mole. They both loved their meals, but wished that they ate less nachos to make room for their entrees. My dining companions also had pineapple agua fresca, and they enjoyed it, too. I was really curious about desert but I had no room left in my tummy to try any. I can't wait to go back again. Next time, I'll get a small nacho and split desert with someone. Five stars.

Our meal felt more of a health focused meal than an exciting bold flavors meal. Maybe other items would have been more exciting though. I liked the atmosphere out on the patio. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
