I'm giving this food truck 5 stars because to have some fresh and healthy-ish food late at night that is not fast food or fried, this is a really great option. I ordered the beef and chicken kebab with the rice, which is tumeric infused basmati rice, and it was very fresh and hearty. I was thoroughly impressed and they gave me a decent size portion of rice and with 3 kebabs it was $18. Will definitely be back again, and also if you don't want the garlic sauce on your kebabs you have to let them know because they automatically add it. read more

3.5 stars to be exact! The food truck is in front of the gas station parallel to The Block. We went late afternoon to try out this truck and there was no line. I ordered beef kabobs over rice and my husband got the chicken shawarma over rice. We went inside the gas station while our order was being prepared for get drinks and chips. Very convenient! The food took a good 20 minutes and everything was fresh. Unfortunately, when I got home and looked inside my meal there was chicken shawarma and no beef. You also only get two thin strips. Chicken is the best part of the meal with the rice being bland and hard to go wrong with the salad. I did get the spicy garlic and tahina sauce on the side, which I don't recommend as they are very watery and both very sour. Food wasn't bad, but not the best. At least it was fresh. read more

We stopped by this food truck to pick up dinner while passing through San Antonio, and it was an overall average experience. We called twice & they did not answer the phone, so we ordered through Grub Hub (which they advertised as an option) and arrived at the stated time. The man working there then told us that those times are wrong & that it would be at least another 30 minutes. Once we said that we couldn't wait that long, he was friendly in helping us change our order. For the meal, I ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, and while the pita bread was very fresh, I felt like the beef itself had a strange gelatinous texture. The french fries were good - crispy on the outside and well-seasoned. I really liked the tahini sauce! We also tried the kibbeh, which I had never had before, and I thought it had a very unique spiced flavor. While it wasn't the best Mediterranean food experience, if you are craving some in San Antonio (esp. with tahini sauce), this might be a good option! read more

Chicken is moist which is so important and they can put more veggies in their sandwich. The beef is good too. The grape leaves are out of this world good. Fries are pretty well done , soft yet crisp. This food truck has been open for about a year now, and I've been tempted to stop on more than one occasion. The night I finally stopped, they were all sold out of beef shawarma, so I opted for the chicken shawarma sandwich/wrap. OMG, the chicken was OUT of this world! It was neatly wrapped in a markouk wrap, stuffed with plenty of moist, flavorful chicken shawarma, tomatoes, lettuce, and topped with an AWESOME, creamy garlic dressing ($6.50). It took about 15 minutes to prepare my food but that just means it's fresh. The wrap, the chicken, and all the veggies on it were fresh. The dude that runs this truck is a monster! I don't know how he does it, but he's open from 11am to 2am Sunday through Thursday, and 11am to *4am* Friday and Saturday. I saw the hours and couldn't believe my eyes. The guy at the register was very nice, and read our order back to us correctly- he even asked if we needed anything to drink. Ordered off Doordash, instructions were clear. PLEASE sauces on the side. They dont add any red sauce and put the white sauce on top of the platter. Then they dont even add the vegetables that go with the platter. What am i paying 13 dollars a platter for? It's been awhile since I've been here but it's one of my favorite spots in SA. Abu Omar Halal offers takeout, delivery and simply ordering at the food truck. I love that the food doesn't take long to pick up. I've had the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich with fries and it's delicious. The sandwich is packed with flavor and the fries are seasoned just right. The tahziki sauce pairs nicely with the sandwich and I usually have ketchup with the fries. The meal is filling without you feeling heavy after.
