We had been frequent visitors to Calistoga before Covid and have stayed at almost every property there except for the newer ones that were established in the past few years. We stayed at the Inn on Pine many years ago and it was still the Euro spa and remembered it fondly.As we planned another trip to Calisto there I saw it had been refurbished, with owners, but still a decent price for the weekdays. So we booked for respite next month after some very serious family and friend illnesses and deaths, hoping to be able to rejuvenate a little bit there. We booked the reservation and only then did I read the reviews. I saw that the most recent one just a couple of weeks ago had video of cockroaches in the room and a less than stellar response from the property manager. When I sent a VERY FRIENDLY EMAIL asking if these problems have been addressed, I got a very surly response that basically said "we fixed the problems but if you want to cancel, go ahead." To be honest, I was pretty shocked as I expected something like "we fixed those problems, we look forward to hosting you." Or some other kind of pleasant response. I couldn't believe how surly this response was so I called the Inn , and spoke with the front desk and explained the situation. Her first response was "I'll happily help you to cancel if that's what you want to do." I then responded that since two people had suggested I canceled. Maybe I would take the suggestion. I then wound up speaking with a lovely person at the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and explain the situation and was told this was not what they would expect , especially from a smaller property like the Inn. They offered to find me another place, but we already booked another B&B. Just a warning that Valerie, the manager is no longer there, and the current manager knows that even if someone cancels somebody will come along and rebook so they could care less about individual guests. I'm going to stay at the other property where my questions have been answered and that was welcomed without a problem. read more

My fiancé and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and were looking forward to experiencing everything downtown Calistoga has to offer. At $383.55 per night, we expected a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained hotel; something every guest should reasonably expect when booking a hotel room. Unfortunately, we woke up to find several cockroaches in the bed where we had been sleeping and were crawling on top of the bedding while we were under the blankets (see videos attached). We documented what we observed with a video, immediately reported the issue to management, and chose to leave the property early because we no longer felt comfortable remaining there. We were initially informed and came to a verbal agreement in person that we would receive a full refund. However, we were later advised (once we had already checked out) that the resolution had been changed to a partial refund (50%) based on management's assessment of the situation of what they considered to be "a few bugs and some dust". While the issue itself was acknowledged and significantly downplayed, we felt the final resolution did not reflect the seriousness of our experience or the impact it had on our anniversary trip. For us, this was never solely about the refund, it was about losing a meaningful part of a special occasion due to conditions we did not expect to encounter nor should have at any lodging establishment. We are sharing our experience so that other travelers can make informed decisions before booking. Be very cautious when booking here. I had a pleasant experience here! My friend and I were in town for only 1 day. We came to drop off on our luggage before we started our day. Valerie was super helpful and friendly! She called us when our room was ready and let us know that there were cookies in the "breakfast room" for us. Complimentary breakfast is 8-10 am. It's set up in the lobby. There are heat lamps and a firepot. Our room was cozy and spacious. I'd highly recommend if you need a place to stay in Calistoga for a quick trip. read more

My husband and I loved our time at Inn on Pine. We went for a mini honeymoon. I loved having the double tub in our room and having access to the sauna. We were pretty much the only ones that used it the three days we were there. I would request hooks outside of the sauna to hang robes and towels. We had to put our things on the floor in the hallway. It's lovely that it's walking distance to the cute little downtown of Calistoga. Everything in Calistoga is a short drive away. If you're expecting a high end resort experience, you won't get it here, but if you want a solid place to spend some quality time with a loved one - there's easy parking, a delicious continental buffet breakfast, fluffy robes, comfy beds, televisions to watch and cute tables outside of every room. There's a great water refilling station with cold water and an ice machine right next to it. Everything was clean. Nice amenities in the room. We will definitely come back again. I want to bring some of my friends for a little staycation. It's such a sweet place. Might be busier on the weekends but we were there on a Monday-Wednesday. read more

Caroline was by far, the nicest, welcoming part of The Inn on Pine. Since we were earlier than check-in time, she gave us an estimated time of when the room would be ready all while being super professional, warm, and friendly with a smile. So we took ourselves for a walk on the town and were back to check-in. Overall we enjoyed our 1st visit at The Inn on Pine! A nice little property and layout with a view of the mountains from the pool area. What we enjoyed: - Caroline's warm welcome and how she made check in easy with a flick of the iPad and stylus pen - Pool, hot tub, sauna and Mountain View even with the backdrop of the croaking frogs. - Warm chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon - Granola at breakfast was top notch, tried and tested! - All ground staff at breakfast out and about were super friendly - The outdoorsy feel at the pools, breakfast area, on the porch felt perfect and relaxing to enjoy the rainy weather - Coffee plus mini-fridge in the room to stash our eats and drinks was appreciated - Kudos to housekeeping, the room was super super clean, the nice touches of the bow on the toilet paper, and rose on the tissue box was super thoughtful. - The windows in the bathroom that opened to green space were nice What could have gone better: - No hot and savory items at breakfast. Scrambled Eggs, sausages, potatoes. That's a miss on a cold rainy day. Too many sweet options. - 4am loud music 2 full songs worth played at full volume to disrupt sleep - Knocking from the heater in the room in its periodic cycle -When asked for towels, it felt like a chore for the person in the office to go get said towels. Her direction was they are in the room. 1. Without seeking to understand that wet towels don't dry in rainy weather , they stay sopping wet 2. Pool towels were not available the day of check-in. - Robes would be nice to have in the room to be able to go straight to the pool. The robes are held in the office, which is a bit strange. - "Insurance" cited as the reason to not authorize a late check out, given that insurance would still be at play, if you arrive early for check-in. Didn't feel very hospitable. - Bathroom was a bit dated. Watch out for the lip to the shower stepping in or you'll trip in Recommend Noon as check out time. Check-in and Check-out times felt rushed for an overnight stay when you're looking to relax. Recommend an offering of a reasonable $25 day pass for the pools with robes/towel (given the pools are not geo thermal). The few guests we met there were all very nice: a family with kids, a lady from Florida and her daughters, a couple with their young child. Late check was then offered at 11:40a when check out is 11:00am, then when said room is not needed, only access to pool, that was OKed until 1pm. We went to Calistoga Motor Lodge after and did a day pass for their geo thermal pools which was perfect. If we'd had the option to stay at The Inn on Pine longer, we would've since we had stayed there. read more

The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The manager is helpful in every way. The Inn is only 1.5 blocks from the Main Street so it is a nice walk with big shady trees. There is a hot tub for two in the bathroom and a pool with shade trees nearby. The breakfast has good protein options and plenty of carbs both savory and sweet, very enjoyable. I was able to get gluten free bread for toast as well. I will remember this place and return again if I'm in the area. Definitely a wonderful place to stay in quaint Calistoga. read more

A quaint little inn a stones throw away from the downtown Calistoga area. It is well-kept and rooms are tidy and well-thought out. I loved the fireplace in our room although we limited the use because of our curious toddler. I also really enjoyed the wet bar area which came with a fridge and a microwave (really helped for heating up an early morning snack for our little one). The courtyard area is very cute and well-stocked with drink options. They also have fresh baked cookies every afternoon which I took advantage of on our check-in day (yummy!). I do wish that the keurig or coffee was kept out 24/7 but that's just me talking as a toddler mom. Management lives on site so although everything closes at 10PM, you can still reach someone off hours in an emergency. I would definitely stay here again if I am visiting the area. read more

We enjoyed our stay at Inn on Pine. Easy to find; set in a neighborhood in Calistoga just a couple blocks from the main street. Walking distance to many of the Calistoga bars and restaurants. Rooms were comfortable; the bed was plush ... maybe too soft for some folks, but I like that I could snuggle down into the bed. The AC (thank goodness) worked well. It was 95 degrees on a Friday in April when we arrived. I was melting, but the AC worked well and cooled the room down to 70 degrees quickly. The room had a little wet bar area complete with small sink, small fridge and microwave. The inn also has a pool and jacuzzi if you remember to bring your swimsuit. Friday, they were offering a happy hour featuring a couple of V. Sattui wines and little snacks. It was a great way to meet fellow travelers and talk about wine and wine country! In the mornings, they offered a light buffet breakfast that included such things as: variety of bread for toast, muffins, quiche, hard boiled eggs, fruits, cereals, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, hot cocoa. There is so much to say about staying at this amazing little hideaway in Calistoga I'll try to keep it short. First, the staff is amazing; the husband and wife team that runs the front office and the entire facility do a great job at keeping it clean and friendly. We were treated amazingly and really enjoyed having a couple of conversations with the folks at the front. Let's talk about the room and the location. First of all, if you need to get away somewhere and make it easy to walk anywhere downtown, this is the place. The rooms are extremely well-kept and clean. Most of the hotel is covered by shade because of the trees, and they have an outside breakfast/wine area patio which is really nice. The room itself was amazing, and the bed was extremely comfortable, and pretty much anything you need they have there. We're fortunate enough to get one with a hot tub, and it was extremely relaxing, and we really enjoyed it and appreciated it. The pool and the outside area are very well-kept. The pool has a small picnic area, so if you want to bring something to eat, you can with the huge tree in the yard. The pool is well-kept, the spa was nice and warm, and of course, there's a location at the edge of town away from all the hustle and bustle. The Inn on Pine is fantastic! Backstory: Stayed with my wife for one night on Friday, May 14th. We were in the area for a quick getaway and to pick up our wine club order. We usually try to visit the area on a slower day of the week, but our schedule wouldn't allow it. The spot we've stayed at the last few times was insanely expensive so we we're on the lookout for new accommodations. Stumbled on The Inn on Pine. Reasonable Price, Good Reviews, Walking distance to Downtown Calistoga, and a nice looking pool area lead me to book it. Room: We had a Signature King Room. Our room was number 8 and it's the closest room to the relaxing Pool/Hot Tub area. The room isn't luxurious, but very cozy and clean. It had a mini fridge and microwave. Nice porch area out front. The bathroom has a whirlpool tub as well. Bed was comfortable. My only complaint was that the TV was on the small side. Pool Area: Very relaxing pool area. Lounge chairs and views of the surrounding area/mountains. The hot tub was great. Relaxed in my lounge chair having a beer followed by a nap. Amazing. I love a lounge chair nap. Location: Perfect Location on a side street in Calistoga. Walk to downtown in less than 5 minutes. Service: Great Service from the Lady who checked us in. I didn't catch her name, but she was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast/Outdoor food area: They have snacks throughout the day and breakfast each morning. Inn keeper, Valerie is an amazing human being that makes the best homemade granola and cookies for the guests. She went above and beyond to help us make my husband's 50th birthday a success! The view from the pool is amazing! The sauna is awesome. I like that it is close enough to walk to the main strip with all of the restaurants and shops but not right on the busy street. This little inn was definitely a hidden gem in a residential neighborhood. It's conveniently located just a few blocks from downtown. Valerie, the general manager, was so friendly and hospitable. Gary was also very nice. I highly recommend staying in Unit #10 which was recently remodeled. Our king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was the best part - huge shower with a rain shower head, double sink and lots of bright lighting. They also include a free breakfast. Don't expect anything fancy like bacon and eggs but they had the basics of fruit, cereal, bagels, toast and coffee. The tables are outdoors facing the parking lot. It was my birthday and they left a nice card with two chocolates in a box on our nightstand. We had a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely go back. read more

This review isn't about an actual stay, so I can't comment on whether I would have liked it or not. This review is about the business practices of this establishment. I made a refundable reservation 9/10/25 for a one night stay in December. I cancelled the reservation 10/24 (within the refundable cancellation period) and received a confirmation of the cancellation. I emailed 10/24/28 enquiring about my refund and was told by Kirsten it would be processed in the next couple of days. I emailed again on 11/15 because no refund had been issued. I received a return email from Kirsten saying she would look into it and let me know. Today, I filed a complaint with the BBB and also am disputing the charge with my credit card company. This is not how you should run a business, especially when you require prepayment of a 1 night stay reservation and the cancellation is received well within the cancellation period allowed. Your customers should not have to send repeated emails requesting a valid refund and still have no resolution a month later. read more

Which we took to the amazing two person bath tub. The bedroom is your normal room. Coffee machine, refrigerator, smart TV, and cozy. This is a great "budget" option for visiting Calistoga. This is the cheapest accommodation I was able to find in the city (other than the Calistoga Inn), which simply does not compare. For around $300 a night you're provided with parking, breakfast, and a comfy and quiet room and bathroom with spa tub. Highlights: The room was clean and smelled great. The bed was comfy, and the spa tub was nice to relax in after a long day of driving. The breakfast had a variety of options and I didn't feel it was lacking much. The room we stayed in had an extremely powerful air conditioner which was really nice because I'm a hot sleeper. I was also impressed how insulated from noise our room was being right next to the breakfast/dining area (which I initially was concerned about). The staff were also very kind and accommodating. The location was an easy walk to everything in town. Other things: Pillows are on the softer side so you may want to bring one of your own. There is also minimal to no counter space in the bathroom. Also be mindful that construction is ongoing. We avoided the construction staying on a Holiday weekend, but it was pretty loud the day we left starting promptly at 9 am. This BnB seems to be on the less luxurious side of town, alongside other budget options/inns. Recommend! read more

Stayed at the inn on pine for one night. The price was a lot more reasonable than many other hotels in the area. Check in was smooth and easy, the ladies in the front are sweet and welcoming. Ample amount of parking for their guests, and love that they had a water station right in the main area. This made filling up our water bottles extremely easy. They also had a keurig and cookies when we checked in. They offer a breakfast spread of bread, bagels, yogurt and granola, fruit and muffins. The blueberry muffin was so moist and yummy! There was also coffee and juice. It was nice to have carbs after a night of lots of wine. It is very much appreciated. We didn't have time to go take a dip in the pool, but they also provided pool towels and robes. I really loved all the little details that they do to make you feel comfortable and at home. We booked the queen room/ the smallest room they have available but there was still a lot of space for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and well stocked. They have shampoo, conditioner and body wash available in shower, so you don't need pack any which was great. There was a small little kitchenette area with a small fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. Overall it was a great overnight stay, and I'd stay here again when I am in the area. read more

And, for the price you get a wonderful afternoon wine tasting, we got V Sattui and homemade chocolate chip cookies! Blink and you will miss this place. Blink again and you will miss the entire town of Calistoga. This was a huge plus. This property is made up of very cozy and nicely secluded cottages that are tucked away from a busy highway, yet close enough to downtown to grab a fantastic meal. Upon check in, we were greeted with a friendly smile, enthusiastic meal recommendations and a very positive attitude that let us know that we had picked the right place. When we first drove in, we missed Pine St. We had to drive around town and loop our way back around, but coming down Myrtle St made this place impossible to miss. The parking lot is small, but give enough space to back out and turn your car around. The rooms are cozy, almost cabin like. We had a king room with a jetted tub. The bed was VERY comfortable. We very much enjoyed the gas fireplace and the central heating was nice, but made the room a furnace if turned on at the same time as the fireplace. My favorite part about this place was the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. When my husband accidentally deactivated his key car, the front desk was more than happy to accommodate us. We were left alone to enjoy our short stay and I would come back hand down! read more

The Inn on Pine was perfect for our Napa wine-tasting needs and definitely deserves consideration by other enthusiasts. I should note that our stay was in one the newly renovated rooms, #10, with #11 being the other. Our room was impeccably clean and well appoint; however, we did find the beds a bit soft for our personal liking. Valarie (proprietor) and Gary (front desk) were absolutely awesome. They put a nice card and chocolates at our bed to kick off my retirement adventure in style. The guest were also quite friendly in this boutique inn, which I believe emanates from the environment Valarie cultivates with the central patio for morning dining and cookie provisions. The breakfast, which was included, was just enough to get you started each day, e.g., I had the hard-boiled eggs, granola with vanilla yogurt, and coffee. There were also terrific muffins, which my wife consumed each morning and mixed fruit. Also, fresh cookies are baked daily and provided free to the guests on the patio. The Inn on Pine is located 2-3 blocks from the quaint downtown of Calistoga making it an easy walk to Lovina (Restaurant), Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery, and Susie's Dive Bar, all worthy of visiting. In fact we had a nice happy hour at the Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery on St. Patrick's replete with Irish music. With regards to wine tasting, we easily accessed tastings at Freemark Abbey, Larkmead, Alpha Omega, and Jarvis. Note: these are listed in distance from the Inn. read more

We spent 2 great days with friends at The Inn on Pine. All of the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, spotless and super comfortable. The open eating area is super convenient for any meal you want to have. The breakfast buffet includes; eggs, granola, fruit, juice, muffins and all kinds of bread and bagels. And their brewed coffee is excellent. Great pool and spa with partial shade. Even a hot day it is super nice to sit there. And, the location is stellar... walk to everywhere. A perfect weekend getaway: I live about 65 miles away from Calistoga, so this was a perfect location for a 2 night getaway. Was able to check in early after my spa treatment ( Roman baths spa) and quickly settled in by the pool with a good book. The room was comfy with a big spa type bathtub. Late afternoon they put out fresh made cookies, ( made by the house cleaner) which were delicious and coffee. The breakfast in the morning was equally satisfying, with plenty to choose from. I loved the muffins, granola ( best I've ever had) and the strong coffee! Only drawback was the pool was being cleaned so was closed both days I was there. I had brought my bathing suit but happily enjoyed the pool area in the sun and when it got too hot the shade. Didn't check out the sauna but definitely will my next stay. We walked into town ( 5 min walk ) for dinner @ the Calistoga Inn and enjoyed a great dinner outside. All in all I loved this Inn and can't wait to return. read more

Tucked away in magical Calistoga, is the Inn on Pine, a humble yet utterly lovely place to abide for a romantic getaway or in my case, a gals get together to celebrate one of our birthdays. We always bring extra wine and gifts for each other just in case. It's obvious that the owner, Val, is the kind of person who enjoys all that she does...and spreads the TLC around so that you leave feeling refreshed, nourished, and well taken care of...and it's the little delightful details that make each moment count. Upon arrival, there are fresh cookies, hot tea or coffee, and a fireplace on the patio/deck going up to the lobby. Colored lights hang above the rafters and cute café tables and chairs entice you to rest your travel weary feet. It feels like home away from home already and you have yet to sign in and meet your host! In the room, a pot-bellied stove warms you, with a cute round table and chairs as part of the kitchenette with delectable chocolate truffles in a fancy package, added to the feel of the VIP treatment. And, wonder of wonders, a REAL coffee pot and fridge! The bathroom is pure luxury. Huge jacuzzi tub, huge fuzzy towels and robes, and a shower for when you return from the spa or sauna. From the outside, The Inn on Pine, looks like just another modest motel, but looks can be deceiving. Valerie was wonderfully engaging and a very accommodating host. She took great pride in insuring our stay was enjoyable. We stayed in room 10 the first night and then transferred to room 11 the second night. Both rooms were newly remodeled and very well thought out (two sinks in the bath, wet bar sink in the living area, full length mirror). The rooms were modern, clean, spacious. Both Valerie and Carole were very good representatives of the Inn. Enjoy the stay and the short walk to the main street of Calistoga. We will definitely return to do it all over again. I dropped in this past Sunday morning for an aromatherapy massage with Kelly. I have to say it was quite possibly one of, if not the best, massage I have had in recent memory. We were checked in and brought to the locker room to change into our robes and store our belongings. Then had the opportunity to use the infrared sauna while we waiting for our therapists. Once in the room, Kelly provided the perfect pressure for a soothing relaxing experience that was desired after a day of wine tasting. Immediately beginning with a delightful scalp massage, I wanted nothing more than to take her home with me back to San Jose. She proceeded on to a bliss inducing full body massage. I can only hope I didn't let a snore out as she worked her magic. I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself. read more

Loved this place! We had room 9, which was a two bedroom suite. One room with a king bed, the other with a queen. There was a large bathroom, super big tub and a shower. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water for three women travelers. There was a little kitchenette with sink, microwave, coffeemaker, fridge, and table. There was a good heater in both rooms and a small fireplace near the table and kitchenette. Plenty of parking on site and close to Calistoga's main strip where cute shops, delicious dining, a grocery, and wine tasting rooms were available within a few short blocks. The inn provided breakfast in their patio area and provided plenty of options for their guests. As a vegetarian, I felt taken care of as every option was free from meat but had a good array of choices. There was a pool and hot tub on site for those that wanted to swim or get in a soak after a long day of wine tasting. The staff at the inn couldn't have been more welcoming than your own family welcoming you back home from a long time away. When I come to Calistoga again, I will be staying here. read more
