We just had an amazing experience with James Stout for the implementation of a sound system and improved Wifi for our home AND to get it all concealed in a custom-built cabinet. We didn't know where to start for getting quality sound into all rooms of our home without dealing with hard wiring until we met James. He took the time to listen to our situation and made an initial trip out to our home with his super talented technician, Oscar, to develop a plan using Sonos speakers, sound bar (arc) and a sub-woofer along with Eero wifi. It was very well thought-out and superbly implemented. James made sure we understood how to work our new Sonos system and he went out of his way to visit our home several times to make sure we were thoroughly trained and had ample practice using all of the features. He also sent informative emails and encouraged us to call him with any questions. Really great follow up. As part of the project, we had a custom built-in TV cabinet that needed to conceal the Sonos sub woofer and Comcast TV box--without any visible cables. It's a bonus that James' showroom is located inside the Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets showroom. Therefore, he was an integral part of the design, functionality and installation of the cabinet. Oscar then mounted our new flat-screen TV and Sonos sound bar on the wall to be perfectly situated with the new custom cabinet and concealed the cables. Both James and Oscar also came to the installation of the cabinet to make sure everything went to plan. That was really comforting for us! I can't say enough good things about James. He's very knowledgeable, professional and he went out of his way to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the final outcome. I seriously wish I could give less than a single star. This is the WORST type of company. He took a large payment up front, did absolutely nothing and then quit on me because "we can't work together". My crime is that I asked for what the estimated budget was going to be on the pre wiring. That's it. He did not return my money. I take my blame for this. Earlier I had a Cat 5 cable break from my living room to the bedroom. I figured it was an easy fix for him. He came out the next day and fixed it. Awesome service, but I was surprised 30 days later with a $2700 charge on my credit card (he keeps a card on file, so he can just charge it). I questioned him about it and he said that he apologizes, he should have given the rate but it seemed like an emergency and we just wanted to get it done. $800 was for this remote that totally sucks and doesn't work and $500 to program it. I take blame because I didn't ask. I told him moving forward that I wanted to know cost before any work was done. If you want to get ripped off or have so much money that you don't care than this is the guy for you. read more

The big requirements for us was a system that gave us music throughout the house, the ability to control our music with our iPads and a single remote control which was easy to use. A few days later, James and teammates, Oscar and Nick, arrived with everything and began their installation. Everything they could control went smoothly. They know how to put together a truly fantastic system that is smart and easy to use. I can't speak highly enough of them. I came back to Yelp this weekend because I wanted to add a note saying that they are great not only for setup but also for support. I used to be good at this stuff, but the digital world of music has passed me by. Still, I want music, and I don't want a thousand crystal cases anymore. Voila!. Enter James and The Integrated LIfestyle. In one fell swoop, he set up my Sonos system, and set me up with Pandora and Spotify (who knew?) and now I can get ANY radio station in the WORLD, any music I want WITHOUT commercials (which I have no tolerance for anymore) and it operates from my iPad. There is also a unit that just plugs into an outlet in my bedroom, so I can walk through the house and hear the same music--or different--so it's versatile. AND you can tell he loves to help people listen to music, so his enthusiasm about helping is especially wonderful. You don't have to worry about not knowing how the wireless setup works, etc. He just makes it happen. I am so grateful to him for giving me back music in my life, through my home speakers, so the sound quality is good, and I can control it all through an iPad. It's affordable, fast, and easy. James Stout was reccomended to us by an interior designer. He came to our house and explained all the things his company could do. What sold us was that he knew a cabinet maker. He worked with the cabinet maker to design the area in our family room with 2 cabinets on each side of the fireplace. One was for houseing the electronics, the other for storage. Also, bookcases. The cabinet maker also had a contact for redoing the fireplace. Very few companies can do the entire job. After the cabinets were put in, the crew wired, the TV, cable box, receiver, Sonos music, surround sound, that are all operated with 1 remote. James also follows up with service issues that come up after installation. read more
