Geary was the 1st company to respond to my request for a quote (via Angi), and he was able/willing to do a same-day winterization of my irrigation system for a fair price. After seeing the low Yelp rating, I almost backed out, but decided to give him a shot. Two reps showed up during the scheduled time, and the rep I interacted with was very professional. He let me know when they'd cleared all 8 zones, and I paid the amount we agreed on via Zelle. I don't regret giving them a chance, and would use them again. read more

After receiving multiple quotes, I decided to use IP due to Geary's competence and attentiveness. They were also able to do the install within a week which gave me a window to repair the yard where trenches were dug before winterization could be scheduled. Geary was attentive to every detail and explained the installation process from start to finish. When it came time for the install, his team completed everything as explained. I was walked through the operation process and have been able to navigate the app easily. My yard is already looking better and I am excited about next spring to see the real results. From our experience and problems with past work, we try to be thorough in selecting a contractor. We also realized when we purchase something new, we don't know what we don't know. We must learn to get what we want, so we don't say later we need something else. We learn from the contractors. Each provides us with valuable insight on the product we are purchasing. When we purchased an irrigation system, we called over 10 companies. Our criteria included having a responsible company, that will provide reliable equipment, that will work for several years, at a reasonable cost. In retirement our budget is fixed, and we don't want problems in the future. In retirement, I have better things to do than fight with companies. We chose "the Irrigation Professionals", from Geart. He answered all of our question over several days. The price was competitive and for the money the company had the best warranty, 5 years parts and labor. The estimate was detailed and listed the products. We even researched the irrigation components and they were well known products that are highly rated. Geart, showed up the day before to mark the property and answer any additional questions. The team, led by Hymie, showed up on time on a very warm day. They installed all of the equipment, tested it out, cleaned up, and reseeded the areas. They did not leave, let me repeat again on a very hot day, until I was satisfied with the work. This included showing me how to control the zones from the free app on my cell phone. They even help me mount a basketball backboard, that would have been difficult to do by myself. We are on a well. We had a choice of connecting directly from our well pump or from the basement. We chose connecting the water line from our house. Which included a booster pump. A hidden, cost saving benefit that finally increased the pressure in our upstairs shower and saved us hundreds of dollars considering I was going to hire a plumber to install a separate line. Within the first month we did have an issue with a controller. I called Geart, the next day the company sent out people and replaced the power cable. We made the right choice. read more

The very next day we cancelled and was told the refund of the deposit would be processed on that Friday. This was almost three weeks ago and we still have not received our refund. We have notified our credit card company and Angie's list and both are conducting an investigation. We have also filed a report with the sheriff's office. read more

As the last legit review below says, run from this company. The one-man shop was fine, it's a mess. Rebecca tells me I never paid EVERY year. I go find the check and she gives me some excuse. She apologized this time, said payment was "misfiled" and weeks later asked again like it never happened. I pay them to start the system and the clock is off by hours, wakes me up at 4:30 the next morning. Heck, I am up so I check the heads are working -- they are not right at the two most obvious places, the driveway. Stay home from work. Ask into the fourth hour of a four-hour window, and they are going to be 2-3 hours more. Get a new appointment and miss work the next morning too. Now they want to charge when I have a guarantee on the installation that goes until 12-25. The tech said, $49 +59= $108 and I said check the guarantee, but I get an invoice for $137 + tax AND a $75 tech fee. The invoice comes at 9:20 AM a week later AND a text AND a voice mail within 2 hours. I'm in court for jury duty ... I'm not dropping everything to pay an erroneous charge immediately. They didn't show up, so I called, emailed and texted and got NO response. They emailed me a 1:36 and said someone was on the way and would be here shortly. No one showed up, so I continued to call, email and text. They text me the next day (Friday) to ask me if I had an appointment, and sent them an image of our communication confirming my appointment for the day before. I do NOT recommend The Irrigation "Professionals"! I lost an entire days pay waiting for them and I am NOT happy about it and it's inexcusable when EVERYONE has a mobile phone and can use it to say "Hey, I'm running late". Install a Lawn and Garden Sprinkler System When the company surveyed my yard for an irrigation system install, I informed them of the area where my septic system drainage field was located. Geary informed me installation would not affect the drainage field because the system would be installed just below the surface and would not damage the yard or lines below. Unfortunately the system severed several drainage lines costing over $6,000.00 to repair prompting a warning from the health department due to sewage leakage. Geary informed me the company was insured, and Rebecca stated someone would contact me over two months ago and both have stopped answering my emails and no effort to compensate me has been initiated. Bought a home with a neglected sprinkler system. So bad that I thought I only had flowerbed sprinklers! They responded quickly and arrived in time after a heads up call (always appreciate that) they spent all day poking around looking for everything as they were buried and found that all heads needed replacement and pipes replaced. They worked into the evening and came back the next day rather than have me wait weeks. I know it's their busy time so it was nice to have a working system right away. They cleaned up the holes they dug very well and seeded over and honestly I can't tell where they dug! Even showed me how to program the system and set me up! Will be using them for ongoing services. I have extensive and varied landscaping (shade and sun) and required multiple watering zones in the front and back yards. Geary was able to recommend a system to meet these needs and the company professionally installed the Racio system. This was exactly what I needed to be able to control the watering from my smart phone from any location. The work crew was professional and did an excellent job. All my plants survived and are still thriving. The company coordinated with DC Water and Sewer for a separate meter for the sprinkler system and was great to work with overall. I would recommend this company. This was not a small investment so long term maintenance will be important. I was visited by the owner Mr Geary Powellwho promptly took my big order for work and 2 years of future service. He sent workers who did part of the work they charged me for. I have not been able to resolve the over chages since the original work was done and the rest of the work has NOT been done. I am now requesting help from my credit card company. Small business with friendly staff. Quality of work is good. And the pricing they offer beats competition. This company is a good to do business with. One of the reasons (on top of the quality of work they do) for my satisfaction is they DO respect their warranty on installations (I had a sprinkler system installed 3 years ago). When I had a concern about one of the sprinklers they sent a technician reasonably quickly and didn't charge me a dime. In three years I got a leak in one of the pipes and they did come out and fixed it (also covered by their warranty agreement). Granted, there might be some improvement in terms of promptness of communication (some may find they don't instantly respond) but I would attribute it to the size of the company (quite a few customers may be contacting them but the number of CS reps is pretty limited). read more

Well, we are once again searching for a reliable and affordable company when it comes to complete and reliable home irrigation services because of continuing issues we have had with every company we chose. We are now oh for 3! There were reliability and response issues with the first two companies we tried. Last June, we found ourselves in the position of where we had to find a third company. We found THE IRRIGATION PROFESSIONALS. They were right out to service our home irrigation system, and we even spent over $400 to have heads replaced and other work completed. And then they also came right out after the season and flushed our system and winterized. Come spring time 2018, we called, set up a time and date, and they were right out and did a great job. And the price was right. And if I set up for a 2 year contract, it was even cheaper. $135 per year for spring turn-on and for winter flush and turn off. This compared to $175 per year with our previous company. Who could pass that up. I set up the 2 year contract As you may or not know, Loudoun County, VA requires any home irrigation system have a back flow test, which we knew. And in all of our previous 11 years in the neighborhood, this was always a part of the spring turn-on costs. Not with THE IRRIGATION PROFESSIONALS. I called them when I received the notice from the county. And they simply told me that this test was not covered, and that they only had one technician who performed this task. We would have to setup another visit, which would cost us another $150.00. I was VERY disappointed to say the least. So disappointed that I asked to cancel my 2 year contract due to the excessive costs and they flatly refused. So now I am stuck paying $570.00 for 2 years versus $350.00. I don't know anything about irrigation systems. My husband hired them and they must have done an adequate installation. My part of the deal is meeting them for service. Today they scheduled 12-4, called at 5 and showed up at 5:40. My afternoon was spent waiting., and a simple phone call to update the arrival time would have been nice. When the system was installed, they sliced our internet cable. When I informed the installer, he denied it! Then he accused me of "cussing him out," which did not happen. I am so upset I didn't see these reviews before going with this company. They installed a sprinkler control box for me to go with my existing system. They did a good enough job that I paid for a 2 year service contract. They have missed EVERY appointment since. They give four hour windows and still don't show up. Also, I have yet to ever get someone on the phone. I've probably called a dozen times during business hours and have had to leave a voicemail each time. I would NOT recommend this company, as Jonathan H. stated, the owner, Geary Powell has a history of fraud. His prior company was "Mclean Irrigation". I cashed several of his employees' paychecks in my check-cashing business amounting to over $4000 in 10 bounced checks. He actually stopped by my location two times to pay $1000 in cash to total $2000, which still left a debt of $2000+. After that point he was impossible to reach as he's very good at ducking and dodging. I was able to track him down a few months later at his company's listed address. The building was emptied out, and there was work being done. It turns out the landlord had evicted Geary and was holding on to equipment until Geary paid up on his debt. I forgot the amount, but the landlord was expecting a payment that day so I waited until he showed up, which he did, and I finally got the chance to confront him. But as fortunate as I was to finally find Geary, the meeting was to no avail, as I never heard from him again. Steer clear of this company headed by a professional con artist / fraudster! read more

After receiving several quotes, I heard from Irrigation Professionals. They were not the cheapest but also had more reviews then the other person and warranty. The sales associate Greg was nice and friendly. He knew his stuff, but after signing the contract that's when the customer service went down. The contract included 5 year warranty, about 2 weeks after getting my sprinklers installed, one broke. I called Greg to see if someone can come out to replace it and raise up the sprinklers even more because the Sod installed was too high. I contacted Greg about this and he said I will get someone out. 2 weeks go by and no response. So I called the main number to the office and asked to speak to a Supervisor. Rebecca replied saying she will take care of me going forward. We scheduled an appointment for the following week. The guy came out the following week and told us he is only hear to winterize it, nothing more. I tried to get a hold of Rebecca again and let her know she scheduled the order wrong and if she can schedule her repair person for another day. She scheduled it for a Saturday so I can be there and talk to the guys and make sure everything is done. I get a call from the Technician on Wednesday afternoon saying he just left my house and he fixed everything. I came home that afternoon and saw that one sprinklers was being covered by the dirt because he didn't raise it. It's been several weeks since he came out. I am still waiting to have someone come out. Appointments have been scheduled but no one has showed up. They were supposed to come again earlier this week and Rebecca emails me that he is sick so it was pushed back to today and no one showed up. I highly regret going with this company. read more

Got a call after consulting Home Advisor for a busted water line in my yard. Geary came out an assured me they could do the job. Well, apparently not. 6 months later the water line is busted again due to not fixing it properly. The Loudoun County inspector even failed the job and somehow a supervisor was called and voila it somehow passed. We have tried to contact the company on several occasions with no return call. New company says the job was a disaster--lines being spliced where they weren't supposed to be, etc. Now having to pay another $4000 to fix the problem again! read more

I was looking for a sub meter to be installed immediately. I got their information from a neighbor in my community. Shame on me for blindly trusting the referral without doing my diligent research. I don't get a response until the next day at 8:10 a.m. She advised the appointment can't be moved. I asked what was the point of calling me while I was already waiting on the technician to show up. She said he would be there at the agreed time (8-10). I waited until 10:38 a.m. and called asking where the tech was. She doesn't know. She then puts me on hold and tells me that he's on his way. I asked what caused him to be running behind, she said she didn't know and that he lost track of time and didn't realize it was after 10?! WTF? Surprise, he never showed up. Can't say enough praise for Eduardo -- showed up precisely on time, extremely courteous & intelligent, worked non-stop for 3 hours-plus in 97 degree heat, found missing valve box another co. couldn't find, went the extra mile to do the work meticulously & adjusted parts of the system to prevent problems in the future, used first-rate materials, provided detailed estimate, cleaned up afterwards beautifully, took pride in his work. They came out to turn on my system for the summer. Their worker loosened the top of one of the valve boxes and I assume they forgot to screw it back on. My lawnmower shredded the top since they didn't put it back on. This company is very hard to get in touch with, they don't show up when they say they will, and the list goes on and on. read more

Where do i begin? Is it with the un-maintained equipment that sprayed oil all over my grass and trees that has environmentally tainted the soil in much of my yard. Is it it the hanging wires for the control center that on my wall? or is it the yard markings of dead grass 20 feet long that make my lawn look like it was lined for a football field. or maybe the mounds of dirt on top of my plants. i just don't know where to begin. BEWARE On a commercial property I was quoted a not to exceed amount which was approved by the client. First, their tech 100% left the irrigation box open and it rained the next day causing the need for the controller to be replaced. I am a reasonable guy so I told them I would split the cost with them which was $250 for us and $250 for them. Once all work was completed they sent me an invoice for $1,000 over the original not to exceed amount. They listed a bunch of labor and material that was bogus. This seems to fall right in line with some of the other fraud cases i have been reading about. The work wasn't even quality work. read more

In June, I paid Irrigation Professionals a hefty fee for some irrigation repairs coupled with a 2-year maint/winterization contract. I have not heard from them since so I called to coordinate the winterization and they have not accepted my calls or responded to emails. I attempted to call the owner, Geary Powell, at (703) 369-4600 to no avail.,,fast busy. I have since notified the local authorities in Bristow, VA (their stated business address) to investigate the possibility of fraud. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Incredible Work!!! We were delayed several times but only because of the weather. However, once the crew showed up, it was game time and what an incredible job they did. I was most impressed that it only took them two days. This job was for 11 zones, and over 2500 feet of pipe, more than 50 sprinkler heads and it works great! All employees were professional and paid close attention to detail. Many of the areas where pipe is run it is difficult to tell where they cut through the turf. When they were done, they policed the area removed all debris and we are good to go, very happy with the finished product. read more
