Plenty to do here with your family ! It is very convenient that they have shuttles to take you around back to your vehicle ! The kids had a blast out here and loved the dinosaur and water show !

This is a very beautiful shopping place in Pigeon Forge. I really loved the dinosaur figurines outside; cool! With that being said, we found it a bit of a tourist trap and pricey, but that was to be expected for the area and kind of place this is. There are tons of alcohol tasting places and food places through out here. We did do a stop and tasting at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, which was unique enough since I am from the west coast visiting, and fun. I still think if you want more authentic tastings and food, to go to downtown Gatlinburg instead (it's all similar enough though). We also did a wine tasting here and all the wines were so sweet for my palette. I did enjoy the shops and pursuing around this beautiful area. A great spot to get some steps in. Many places also offer free samples of food to (like the candy store) so don't be afraid to go in and try.

Really cool! Kids loved the fountain show. I think the rides are overpriced but I think it's just tourist pricing. Many of the shops were really cute and unique. We found parking easily and the tram looked to work good for many other guests. Definitely worth a stop to see the environment.

Still part of our December 2025 Smoky Mountains trip, The Island in Pigeon Forge is a loud, flashy stop in the heart of Pigeon Forge. If you've run out of things to do and still have the time and energy, it's worth a stroll--especially if you have young kids who just want space to play and explore. It's clean, safe, and very family-friendly. That said, we found it overrated and pricey. A quick stop at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine set the tone, and prices throughout the shops and food stall felt inflated. We found way better quality and better deals at Old Mill Square and other spots around town. There's no admission fee, and the city's trolley system makes it easy to access, but overall it feels like a tourist trap. Nice to walk around once--but not a place we'd go out of our way to revisit. Eventually we need to have dinner but opted to drive all the way up Gatlinburg for a great dinner.

My family and I visited The Island in Pigeon Forge early on a Monday morning, and it turned out to be a great time to go. We parked across the street in their free parking area, which had plenty of available spots at that hour. The walk over was less than a mile and very manageable. Although the weather wasn't ideal--light rain and chilly temperatures--it didn't take away from the experience. We started by walking around and taking everything in. There are so many cute shops, unique stores, and plenty of great photo opportunities throughout the area. We did a little shopping, sampled some food, and purchased tickets to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, which was a highlight. Before heading out, we made one last stop at Ole Smoky Moonshine, which is always a fun experience. Even though the weather didn't fully cooperate, we still had a great time and really enjoyed our visit. The Island has a fun, lively atmosphere and offers something for everyone--we'd definitely go back!

Only way to explain this place is "Disney Springs but country". Lots of shops, arcades, rides, and food. Most of the restaurants are 3 or below stars so we didn't do a sit down dinner but we did snack at different locations. The area was nice; a bit crowded so I wouldn't recommend it for those with anxiety with crowds. The rides were fun for our younger ones, the single price for rides were 6.99 a ride but they do a bracelet where you get unlimited for that day and the next for a bundle price. Some rides were closed down so the older kids didn't get much for this package. They offer military discounts They have a water light show every 30 mins at their pond area, only true turn off is the parking. Super nightmare.

This was a pretty cool place to check out while in town. Plenty of parking and a free trolley that will take you to the center where all the attractions are. There is a trolley stop close to almost anywhere you park in the designated lot. Best part is that the parking is free and there is no entry fee for "The Island". Lots of shops, restaurants, and amusement park rides. You simply pay for the rides that you would like to get on. We payed for our rides separately but there is also an unlimited rides pass that can be purchased for a fee. Highly recommend the Ferris wheel, as you'll get a great view especially at dusk. Tickets were around $18, but the tourist coupon booklets located all over the city offer a $2 discount per ticket(you only need one coupon). Three Margaritaville Hotels also located here as well as a Margaritaville restaurant, of course. You can also do a scavenger hunt by finding all of the animatronic dinosaurs in the amusement park. Light show at the water fountain several times a day as well (hourly?) Lots of fun! Would definitely visit this spot again.

Such a great time here! We stayed at Margaritaville Island Resort since we knew most of our time would be spent at The Island--and it did not disappoint. It's not only great for kids but just as fun for adults, with plenty of food options, attractions, and unique tastings at Ole Smoky and the Cidery. The music playing throughout the island sets the perfect vibe, and the live birds are such a fun and unexpected touch. Overall, a fantastic experience!

My favorite place in Pigeon Forge is the 23 acre area called The Island, which is said to have over 80+ shops including restaurants. There's also a huge Ferris wheel and an adjoining park. We chose the perfect time to visit! The entire area is beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday, which is a must see!

The hidden gem of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! This is such a family friendly outdoor attraction. I love that it is free to enter and free to park. There are three restaurants to eat at here. The park also has a jurassic theme with animated dinosaurs throughout. Great place to bring if you have kids, or if you're on a date.

The Island is the best place to shop, eat, drink and have fun all in one place! Easy parking lot with shuttle buses or a short walk from the first parking areas! The Sky Wheel and Sky Fly are my favorite rides! The Margaritaville Island Hotel is my absolute favorite hotel to stay in! We also love the Timberwood Grill! I could sit and watch the fountain literally all day long!

The ferris wheel sucked. They forgot us on the wheel for a half hour. The car was freezing cold and stinky. When we complained they called security and threw us out of the park. Terrible experience! read more

The Island is very nice. It would be better if management would have a designated smoking area somewhere that non smokers do not have to walk thru instead of letting smokers smoke anywhere and stink up the air all thru the complex. Non smokers have a right to not have to smell cigarette smoke while walking thru the complex. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I visited near Christmas and the lights and decorations were outstanding!! It's so relaxing and festive, it quickly became my favorite place in Pigeon Forge. A shopper's paradise, with restaurants a plenty and rocking chairs around a beautiful lighted fountain. I can't wait to return! Tip: make sure to wear comfortable shoes (it can be quite a hike from the far end of the parking lot). But the tram is available for those who don't want to hoof it. read more

What a great experience. The night time is the best time to go. Busy but it if it wasn't then it wouldn't be as good. They have great shops for toy shops to laser tag to 7D experience. The Tiki General Store was great. There was a candy store, pop corn store and if you are feeling saucey a moonshine place for the adults. Awesome restaurants like Paula Deen's Family Restaurant. The best part is the rides you can ride for 4 dollars or go big for 30 unlimited rides which is the best deal. They have a huge arcade if you don't like to ride. This place is a must go if in the Area. read more

Me and the kids had a great time here. Lots of little shops to walk in and out of. Believe it or not, the prices really were reasonable! We loved shopping in the sneaky squirrel. And the candy store. The ice cream was yummy too. We had so much fun in the mirror maze and you have to ride the big wheel. It was worth it I would say that we ate at Margaritaville and we were very pleased. We rode the big wheel and the kids loved it. I would definitely do this again. The water show was amazing we loved sitting in the rocking chairs. A great experience for the family and a must do when you go to pigeon Forge Gatlinburg area. And don't forget bills lemonade! It was the bomb! read more

One of my favorite places we that we visited during our trip! Loved the fountain and all the shops. My sisters enjoys the rope course. We spent half of our day here! Parking was easy and the trolly was very convenient. We parked far but we didn't have to walk the whole way.. and it runs until 11:30 at night! So many restaurants to try and we loved the brewery! Can't wait to go back! read more

This place is great! I went at Christmas time, so it was all lit up and decorated beautifully. There is a lot of shops to browse through and a lot of activities that you don't get everywhere. The only thing I have to complain about is that I wish there was at least 1-2 things that children aged 1-3 could do. Other than that, I recommend the Island. read more

Let's start with the parking situation; the lot is quite far from the shops. My advice is plan to take everything you need with you because you will not want to hike back. There are trams that pick up and take back however The Island is dog friendly and if you bring your furries with you they are not allowed on the trams. The fountain is a beautiful attraction both day and night but at night it's lit and dances to music so plan accordingly if you want to see that. It's a great place to rest and people watch after trekking around the shops. Lots of food and shopping to be found but slightly pricey due to location. It's a wonderful experience but a bit of a tourist trap; overpriced and someone trying to sell something. Avoid the information booths unless you are planning on attending a show in Pigeon Forge and want to score some free or heavily discounted tickets after listening to a presentation for whatever time share they are trying to get you to buy into (seriously, that was annoying). The Wheel was a fun experience with an incredible view of the city and mountains. Very pretty when lit up at night. It was a nice experience. We'll return read more

Such a fun spot for great family fun. We didn't get a chance to go on the big wheel. Next time we'll make sure we get on it. My kids ages 6 & 9 had a great time and did not want to leave. We all enjoyed the mirror maze as well. This place is a blast. read more

This is a nice place to visit with stores, rides and places to eat. It is nice to walk around, but it is expensive in most of the places. The biggest problem is the parking. The lot it really far away and they have a tram, but lots of times the trams are not running or there is only one and it takes forever to get on one. read more

Enjoyable place to go. Many nice stores and restaurants with fun activities for the whole family. Riding in the large ferris wheel is a must. Great views of the mountains and the Pigeon Forge strip. A little pricey at 16 dollars a person. There is a carousel and 3 story walking tightrope maze that looked fun for kids, along with other rides. For the adults, there is Margaritaville and Old Smoky Distillery for moonshine tastings. Everyone can have fun here read more

This has got to be the oddest town in America. But if you want pancakes, miniature golf or fried chicken it's the place to be. I spotted at least 5 of each of those venues just driving down the main street to get to the island. To each his own. Just not my thing. read more

Great place and a ton of different things to do. Lots of shops, places to eat, entertainment and some rides. There is alot of parking and trams that take you to the Island if you don't feel like walking. It's nice to rest in the rocking chairs they have by the fountains after a long day or waiting for the tram. We only saw a small portion of it and look forward to going back and seeing more of what they have to offer. read more

The Island is a fun area for people of all ages. We enjoyed checking out the shopping, distillery, brewery and ferris wheel. The weather was beautiful this weekend for January so we were able to be out and about more than planned. We look forward to returning! read more

Such a nice shopping area. Super clean and so much to do even without spending money. There's fountains that "dance" to music, tons of photo ops, tons of stores with so much to offer and a kid area with arcades and games. At night its so pretty all lit up. Parking is awesome because they offer a free tram to the front and the tram guys were super entertaining. Definitely a nice place. read more

It s big place with lot of places to eat and shop plus have some amusement rides to like a Ferris wheel small roller coaster and other. It s clean and well kept up with. Plus has done flowers trees etc. lots of parking near by to. Only down side is the parking lot not much lighting. Other then that a cool place to try out. read more

The island is a great place to go when on vacation. Lots of things for kids to do. Stay away from Margaritaville and Paula Dean both are way overpriced and the quality is no better than Golden Coral. The shopping is very unique and all the stores are different. The fountain is amazing and try the moonshine. read more

I'm also a cancer patient who doesn't know how many vacations that she has left in this lifetime. So, when someone offered us a chance to take this trip, we were over the moon and jumped at the chance. So writing this review is quite painful. I've always heard that Dollywood employees are the best so I was expecting kindness and helpfulness, but I was mostly disappointed. I want to start this review by saying that I could not do what the employees at Dollywood do all day in the blistering heat. They have to deal with people all day long and people can be unpleasant on a good day and vicious on a bad day. I deal with people in my job and it can be difficult. I know and I sympathize. It started when I had to rent a mobility scooter. Trust me, I hated having to rent that blasted thing, but I had a cancer treatment two days before our visit and my treatment can zap the energy right out of me. So, I went to rent a scooter even though I was embarrassed to have to do so. The young lady behind the counter was unfriendly and unprofessional. I was surprised really by her complete lack of kindness. She never once even cracked a smile and her behavior at my questions was rude. I was also disappointed at the employees lack of help when you asked for directions. We only had a day in the park and we had some specific things that we wanted to accomplish. When asked for directions, the employees were short with me and seemed annoyed that we even asked. I ceased asking employees and began asking other park goers. They were kind and helpful. Then there was the candy store near the train depot. The gentleman behind the candy counter was amazing. He was friendly and encouraging. Just when I thought we wouldn't find any employees up to park standards, he showed up and with his sunny disposition really brought a bright spot to our day. Then, my hopes were instantly dissolved when we checked out at the register. The female employee at the register was utterly rude and blatantly disrespectful. I was shocked and wanted to match her energy, but I didn't want to set a bad example for my kids. Also, the kindly gentleman was right next to her and I just didn't want to cause a scene. Also, the employees who deal with people with disabilities on the rides just treated us like we were an imposition. That's just not the way you treat people who are already struggling. Most people who have a disability would do anything to be normal. I know I would have loved to have not known this information about the employees who help people with disabilities. I believe some sensitivity training is in order for all the employees who come in contact with people with disabilities. We already feel like a burden and we HATE it. There were some employees that went above and beyond which is the reason I didn't give a one star review. I've already spoken of the gentleman at the candy store. He needs a raise. There was the sweet young man in the jewelry booth by the Mystery Mine ride. He was an absolute gem and was so helpful. There was a sweet young lady at Miss Lillian's where we ate. Two of my kiddos have severe food allergies. It makes it difficult to find food that won't land us in the ER. This young lady went out of her way to make sure that our food wasn't contaminated by allergens and she even found chips for my son who couldn't have the other side dishes. Bravo to her!!! She deserves a gold star, a crown, and a wand. Also the tram conductors were fabulous They were funny, kind, and helpful. Whoever trained those guys needs to train EVERYONE in the park. The employees involved in the Dollywood Express were another standout. They were kind, hilarious, entertaining, and really did help to make the day memorable especially for my son who has a popular YouTube channel about trains. It wasn't all bad, but there were enough disappointments to prompt me to write this review. I really hated writing something negative. I absolutely adore Dolly Parton. She is one of my heroes. I feel terrible for saying anything negative about something associated with her. I'm hoping this review will encourage some additional training for employees who deal with people with disabilities. Those people sitting in the mobility scooters could be on their last vacation and you could make all the difference.

They're located right on the main parkway just a bit north of the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg. They have a parking lot which is handy. We parked, paid, took our ride up the mountain and then golfed 18 holes of mini golf. The course was well maintained with quirky decor and just plain fun. We had a great time and would 100% come here again! Get to it!

The Island in Pigeon Forge is a solid place to spend a little time, especially if you're already in the area and want something easy and walkable. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, especially at night and there's definitely plenty to look at . The rides are fun enough -- the Merry -Go-Round is the standout ,beautiful horses and all-- but overall the attractions feel more geared toward families with younger kids than thrill‑seekers. (which is why i went anyway) Nothing bad, just nothing that really blows you away. Food options are decent, with a mix of sit‑down restaurants, snack spots, and sweet shops. Prices are on the higher side, which is pretty typical for a tourist area, but the quality varies depending on where you stop.We didnt eat here as there was cheaper food right outside the location less than a mile away and 22% cheaper. FYI, I ran the numbers. Crowd were the biggest drawback. Lines for rides and food were long, and the noise level gets crazy. i guess I'm old. One thing The Island does really well is transportation. The free tram from the parking lot is smooth, efficient, and honestly one of the highlights of the visit. It makes getting in and out much easier and keeps the experience from feeling like a hassle. but you could easily just walk it its not that far. read more

This review is for a specific store - the Sneaky Squirrel. My wife and I went in a looked around and she found some things she liked. Unfortunately, the entire time we were in the store, the woman at the counter was talking very loudly about her personal feelings about a political party, and she was being very rude and obnoxious. She made several very general statements about people who belong to this party, not realizing my wife and I were among those she was insulting. She probably didn't even know we were in the store as she never looked up and acknowledged us. We decided not to purchase anything here because of her ignorant behavior, and as we passed the counter the man she was ranting to saw us and said "careful, here's a couple (political party reference,) right here." She stopped talking but never turned and said a word to us. We left and will never patronize that store again. My wife and I both work in retail and we know that you never discuss such sensitive topics within earshot of your customers...obviously this ignorant woman never learned this lesson. read more

Definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Pigeon Forge. While parking can be difficult, the various and unique stores, shops and attractions are good to check out. The entire area harbors a fun atmosphere, and I would recommend checking it out during the night to see the lighted-up Ferris wheel and music-coordinated fountain. read more
