We enjoyed walking around, sampling a few cookies and moonshine, looking at the parrots and the Halloween/Christmas decorations, and watching the fountain shows every half hour. There's a trolley that takes you from the parking lot and drops you off at front. They will ask for your drivers license and take your information then tell you that you have to come back the next day for a Margaritaville sales pitch before you can get the discounted tickets that they said they would sell you. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are about 15 minutes away from each other and they're both touristy, but The Island at Pigeon Forge is a lot more user friendly than downtown Gatlinburg. You have free parking, some of the same wine and moonshine tastings as downtown Gatlinburg, some shops and restaurants. Downtown Gatlinburg has more, but if you want less crowds and free parking, this is the better option. read more

It's very touristy but lots of fun. There is something to do for the whole family at the Island. Taste moonshine for $5.00 at Ole Smokey or listen to a live bluegrass band right in front of the shop. The island has also lots of stores (mainly tourist stuff) and a small "amusement park" area that is perfect for families with kids. There is also a huge cool looking Ferris wheel but I wouldn't dare going on it - I have a fear of heights - sigh... We hang out at the pretty pond in the middle, sitting down on one of the many rocking chairs that are placed around it, relaxing, and enjoying the water show. Paula Deen's restaurant is also right there. Try it out - it's really good . Tip: Do yourself a favor and do not try to find parking street side on or close to the island. It's almost impossible.. Once you drive onto the island cross the bridge and park on the parking lot right behind it. It's free - and you will guaranteed find a spot. read more

What a fun compound in Pigeon Forge! Once the car was parked, entered the area, everything was within walking distance. There are hotel, shops, rides, musical water fountain show, restaurants, Moonshine testing. Whole bunch of fun stuff to do for all ages. The whole area looked new, modern, beautifully decorated and clean. Compared to the hectic traffic on Pigeon Forge main street, this is a much funner, relaxing place to spend the valuable vacation time. We came during the day and the night. The scenery is different, -both beautiful. I loved this island. I can't believe it has been established since 2013 and we just visited it for the first time in Pigeon Forge. read more

A lot of shops! Great staff and nice things to look at. The only downfall is that the parking is a decent way off from the island.

We definitely weren't expecting this park to be as big as it was, and we had a great time here! There's plenty of free parking, and it's a fairly quick walk to the actual park but they also have trolleys to get you there. There are a wide array of restaurants and shops as well as a winery and moonshine place too. They don't charge any entrance fees which is nice and convenient as you can just walk in. They have an arcade and several rides like a large Ferris wheel and bungee jumping, and they also have a flight simulation and ropes course as well which looked fun. They have a $35 unlimited ride pass that would include some of the rides and it's actually valid for 2 days as well which is a great deal. If we had more time, we'd definitely spend it here! read more

It's a good way to spend a half day while you're in Pigeon Forge, especially if you want to watch the fountain show from a nice Adirondack chair or try some moonshine at the Ole Smokey Distillery. Parking is bonkers, as you need a tram to get you to the main area, but otherwise, this was really fun! read more

The Island in Pigeon Forge has a little something for everyone. There's shopping (think boutiques and unique shops), eating, drinking, rides, and games. Tons of parking available in multiple lots, which are walkable to The Island or you can take the tram. Unless you're looking to shop, eat, or do something specific here, I think visiting once while you're in the Smoky Mountains is plenty. While here we visited the Beef Jerky Experience (tons of beef jerky and some exotic jerky to choose from, also sells popcorn, candy with bugs, jams, etc.), Big Rocky Candy Kitchen (basically sells pretty much almost everything you can think of to satisfy your sweet tooth; you can smell the homemade fudge and popcorn when you walk in), Ole Smoky Moonshine (complimentary tastings with tips appreciated), and Bill's Lemonade stand (just one size available; lemonade is more sweet than tart). For play, we did the 7D Dark Ride Adventure. I highly suggest you do two rides (they are about 5 minutes long), especially since it's only $4 extra compared to just one ride. Friendly and helpful staff working here. While there, we were also able to catch the show at the fountains where the fountains danced to the music. Pretty cool and soothing. Tons of seating around the large fountain. Overall, The Island in Pigeon Forge is a decent place to visit while you're in the area. Don't think it's necessarily a must, but if you have some time, I'd stop by to check it off your list. read more

Parking lot is walking distance but you can also take a tram ride to and from which is always a good thing to get off your feet. This is where the Paula Deen restaurant is located. The escape room, the 7d interactive ride. Smoky Moonshine tours, Dudes daiquiri. Beautiful fountains and a lot of amusement rides and activities. The only con is no Wi-Fi. Download and screenshot anything you need before hand . Once you park your car on the lot , Wi-Fi is instantly turned off. (Fyi) Other than that no complaints read more

First off you are going to spend money. It's a tourist attraction in pigeon forge. We really enjoyed the dinosaur hunt. The atmosphere is great. Relax by the fountain and listen to music. Ride some carnival rides or play a few carnival games. Enjoy food from the many restaurant choices. You could spend a whole day here and not see all the stores. Free parking free trolley ride. TLDR: Fun tourist trap in Pigeon Forge with shops, bars, and rides. Difficult to navigate in a car with google maps. Easier to follow the signs to the main parking area and walk. On a Thursday evening, we searched for a restaurant near us for dinner. We found a few in The Island and decided to check it out. We didn't realize that we could not drive to the restaurants since the area is blocked off. Plus you can't park at any of the nearby dinner shows unless you are a customer there. To dine in the Island you have to park in their parking lot. Follow the signs to the parking area down Smoky drive and the Island drive. The parking lot was nearly full when we arrived. Even with parking near the back it didn't take us long to walk. A tram is available as well but I don't know how often it runs. We ate first in Margaritaville then walked through the various shops. The area is clean and popular. A fountain in the middle displays colorful water shows. Chairs are available outside to sit by the water. Rides are located in various areas and require tickets. We did not ride any since we were in town to go to Dollywood. Overall, it's a tourist trap, but a fun area if you have time to kill. read more

Once you walk past those hotels you enter into the shopping district of Market Street. From Market Street you can walk all the way down to the amusement park area with several rides with the most obvious being the Ferris wheel (known as The Wheel at The Island). There are even more shops, bars and restaurants surrounding the amusement park area on Pigeon Forge island and among them are Yee-Haw Brewing, Ole Smoky Moonshine and Paula Deen's Family Kitchen. What a cool spot with something for everyone. Park in one of the lots near a tram stop and it will bring you right to the entrance, near a fountain that is timed to music. Be aware that there is a candy shop right there in case you need to distract your kids (or your own sweet tooth). There is a Margaritaville hotel, restaurants, shops, rides, an arcade, and a huge ferris wheel with some great views. Purchase ride passes near the arcade at the back of The Island. Everything is well-maintained here, seasonally decorated, and some unique shops to peruse. We had a great time, even in the rain. You can certainly make a day of it. read more
