Fun for all ages! Rides, shops and restaurants! This is something fun to do with family and friends. This can take up the whole day if you want it to! Love the trolley that helps with the long walks from the parking lot. Our favorite is sitting in the rocking chairs watching the water show that coordinates to the music. The Island is a very entertaining and interesting spot in Pigeon Forge. The location is very easy to find, as well as the parking lot seems to be massive. They have tram services so even if you park far, you do not need to walk that mile to two to the Island. I can see how this location can be busy during the summer months, however, I visited it during the middle of winter. There were still plenty of people walking around. During my stroll here, I visited the Arcade store and the Mirror Maze. Both did their job of entertaining me for ~20-30 minutes or so. Both the Arcade and Mirror Maze would be rated 3.5 out of 5. It was both fun and not something I would do twice. I did take one star off due to the parking. It seems like it was very confusing to me. Felt like it was developed by someone who wanted to make things as confusing as possible. read more

The island at pigeon forge is so fun! They have something for everyone! Ol smoky moonshine normally have some kind of music going on and also you can sample 9 moonshines for $5 and get a $5 coupon back at the end to go towards any purchase you may make. And while we are being alcoholics you can drop in to yee haw brewery next door grab a cold one and sit out and listen to some music at ol' smoky. I personally had to go grab a deluxe apple from the fudgery while I was there. You should too! Don't forget to take a trip on the the Ferris wheel while you're there! I've never been to a place like this before. I have the tendency to avoid tourist traps. But since we were in Pigeon Forge, it made sense to check it out. There's a huge parking lot with trolleys and multiple stops that will drop you off and then pick you up right at the entrance. But people we packing in like sardines, so we opted to walk there and back. We went there after dark, so we could see the lights and the fountain show. Lots of expensive touristy shops and places to eat. It was very busy, with tons of families and kids running around everywhere. There are a lot of amusement rides geared towards kids. We ate at the Mellow Mushroom, and like everything else in Pigeon Forge, the prices were inflated. read more

We got recommend this area for several people advertising it to have so many things to do but I guess we went too late considering everything was closed. They have a lot of stores towards the back and the moonshine tasting activity is a MUST for first timers. Shops, ice cream, brewery, restaurants, fountain, arcade...plenty to do here. Whether you're looking to kill time before dinner or looking to find some entertainment there are options. Parking was plenty, but it is not a "quick" walk from the parking lot. There is a tram that runs through from the lot to the island. We chose to walk from our hotel to avoid the traffic. We came to ride the Ferris wheel, and we walked around after and got some ice cream at the fudgery. It was VERY crowded, but we didn't have to wait in line very long. I'm also very glad there was a tram from the parking lot because my kids and dad were too tired to walk the whole way back. This is one of those places you just have to check out. Kind of like a smaller version of downtown Disney. There is not many food choices. Trust me, stay away from the Annie Pretzels/ Cinnabon. Don't go on the Ferris Wheel when it's hot out. They'll put you in the cabin with none working air. It was incredibly hot in there and on top of that they ignore the emergency call button.when you go by the worker standing there to get their attention to let you off, they just laugh and don't take you serious. Lots of shopping options with a wide variety of quality products. There's something for everyone here from candy, games, and toys for the kiddos; to clothes, home decor, and gourmet foods for adults. There's a few fountains throughout with a beautiful and choreographed water display in the center courtyard. There are multiple rides and experiences for both young and old alike to appease thrill seekers and also provide a breathtaking panoramic view of the local landscape from the Skywheel. If you're not interested in being sucked into a sales pitch for hotel stays and time shares (under the guise of discount tickets) - avoid the "Information" booths. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. It's an open air shopping mall experience, which also provides a nice night out in a safe and clean environment. Be aware that there's plenty of walking to be done during your time here. Most/all the areas we visited were handicapped accessible as well. Parking can be a bit hectic as the lots are quite full and there's no direction painted to assist in locating exits. It was a good evening experience. Our party of 3 enjoyed window shopping, eating at Paula Deen's kitchen, and taking pictures on a beautiful evening. It would be worth another visit, if theres a purpose, on another trip down. I'd rather spend the money on experiences over the material possessions, but that's just one perspective. read more

We loved this place. We went to the fun center with laser guns, mirrored maze, bumper cars. The staff was helpful and organized. The equipment was well maintained. The assistant did say they cleaned the laser headsets but they did not. Otherwise we were quite pleased with everything. The moonshine tasting bars and gift shops were also a great time. Parking was very easy. There is a little trolley that takes you from the parking lot to where the shops are. There's a decent amount stores and restaurants to go to while you wait for your table. There is a decent amount of rides that are very kid friendly and most restaurants have coupon booklets if you're looking to save a few bucks. We ended up going by big rock to get gelato and some fudge. We ended up coming back to the island twice. The Island, which has been around for I believe five years now, is one of the best attractions in the Smoky Mountains area. What I really dig about it is there's something for everyone - be it for the young and old. Parking as well as getting in the place is free, and there are shuttles that take you to the main entrance (where the fountain is). Unfortunately, me and my family didn't spend a lot of time here as we probably should have as we were all tired by the evening. But we saw some shows at the fountain, even at night (with the lights and all...). Ate at Paula Deen's, and even went on the indoor ride, SkyFly: Soar America (similar to something found at the Disney parks). I wanted to ride the Wheel, but the line was just way too long. But I stopped in some of the stores and some of them are those you would not find at your average mall. My bro-in-law seemed to like the moonshine place. So if you're ever in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, definitely take your family out to this energetic attraction some day or night. Again, there's something for everyone. Shopping, theme restaurants, plenty of places to sit down, rides, etc. By the way, this is literally on an island, surrounded by parts of the Little Pigeon River - hence the name. read more

I was very impressed by the collection of shops and the organization here. There is a large parking area with in easy walking distance of the shops. They have a tram to drive you if you need it. You will find the whole place very clean - even the restrooms! The Island has a large variety of shops. Most of these will be the same type shops that you will find in Gatlinburg. Most all shop employees were very friendly. There were lots of attractions for the kids to do. I really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs that were fountain side. The water show was relaxing and enjoyable! Kudos to the city of Pigeon Forge for pulling all these shops into one area versus having them line the street like they do in Gatlinburg. read more

This place is definitely a must-do in Pigeon Forge! There's so many cute shops to explore, food to try, and (probably the most exciting part) beverages to partake! My husband and I didn't really know what to expect from this place as it was our first time visiting, but we had lots of fun - granted the weather was rather cold and blustery, but it didn't ruin our fun! We first check out some of the shops! There's a really great variety of shops! We found him a heavy jacket for only $20 - great bargain! There's a shop for everyone! We really enjoyed the dancing water fountain too! That's so much fun to watch! We stopped at the brewery and we had to try some moonshine! (When in Rome, right?) I think had the weather been a tad nicer we would have taken a spin on the big Ferris wheel! It's beautiful, especially at night! The Island doesn't charge anything to enter, which is great! This is as close to a Vegas style resort as your going to get in Tennessee. The Island has something for everyone. There's a street of shops, a dancing water show, carnival rides, restaurants, etc. If it's very popular so most likely you will have to park in the giant airport-style lot and take one of the few trams to the entrance. I went to the shop puzzle shop at the Island, where I left my limited edition Stanley cup. I went back in rather quick after I realized i left it. Celest one of the workers let me know Sam one of the other workers took it to the lost and found for safe keeping. I walked to lost and found where the head of lost and found told me it was not turned in, and this is the only lost and found at the island. Then I checked the arcade desk where they turn in tickets, not there either. I went back and got Sam, He walked with me to the information desk where he took the cup, I was met with a super rude custom service girl with her nasty attitude. She was completely unhelpful and incredibly rude. Called her manager and told me I needed to wait patiently... Unfortunately in that bit they had a shift change and the same people weren't there. The manager John Knox was like they didn't bring it here. I have no reason to not believe the puzzled. As the girl told me as soon as I asked where my cup was.. Needless to say anything taken to the information desk is not safe! I was also told that Stanley's are a hot item in this area and they are literally breaking into cars for them here. So keep them out of View... I'm beyond disgusted that someone a worker at the Island stole my cup. Yep it's my fault for sitting it down, BUT give the customer more than a half hour before you decide to steal their shit. Thank you kind people at puzzled I'm sorry that the information people tried to throw you under the bus. Just remember if someone forgets something in your store just hold on to it!!! I was sadly disappointed in The Island. While it was pretty aesthetically, it was also pretty trashy. It is basically an amusement park with shops, a cinema, food stands and kiddie rides. I prefer Six Flags or Disney by far. The town of Pigeon Forge is so over the top, fake and touristy--picture Brandon, Missouri or Wisconsin Dells. The Island carries these same notes. I would continue down the road ten minutes to Gatlinburg where it is a bit more realistic, cute and surrounded by mountains. read more

There's so much to do here and it is so family friendly. They have a ton of restaurants and snack stands. They also have ample shopping and plenty of seating everywhere. The rides are well maintained and all of the workers we encountered were really nice and seemed to genuinely like kids. Pro tip - if you want to do the rope course or the bungee bouncy thing (things where you have to have a harness), you must wear shorts or pants. Don't be like us and drop $20 in the gift shop for emergency shorts to go under the kiddo's dress. There's plenty of parking, and it's FREE! There is a tram that runs through the parking lot or the walk in isn't too bad. My only complaints are that they do allow smoking even around the children's ride area and that even though the park is open until midnight, the last tram runs before midnight. read more

I have been to Pigeon Forge, but only recently I had been to the Island (and explored) around for the first time. It's a really nice outdoor shopping center! They also have some rides, too! The best part about the Island is that the parking is free. It's a really large lot, and they also have shuttles to take you to and from (but it's a pretty easy walk, too.) Aside from shopping, there's also Ol' Smoky, a winery, arcade, and a few restaurants, which tend to fill up really quick, so I would recommend making a reservation! This place is a great family place and also for friends. The rides are fun even though a little pricey. My younger brother loved all the smaller rides like the frogs and parrot ride. The food is amazing too! The only issue is it is hard to find the restroom maybe if the put more signs up it would be easier to find them. read more
