The turnout was excellent--during the lesson, the place was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, with dancers filling every available inch of floor space. Afterward, a live jazz band took the stage and kept the energy high. The night was genuinely fun, with swing in the air and a lively, nostalgic atmosphere. It did get quite warm inside, but a couple of fans helped keep the air circulating. On regular nights, I understand Coffee Note shifts to a more relaxed open jazz jam session--perfect for sitting at a table with a drink and soaking in the sounds of America's musical past. Gabi is a local favorite that does make all of its own cakes, in house. When I was making reservations recently for Gabi; I discovered that they had a separate entity that was devoted just to the bakery. Stay with me; all those delicious little treats all in one place; all to go! Not exactly! This is a bakery that is an order on line and pick up type of deal currently. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. How are the cakes then? They are magical and uplifting as usual. Now when is that special engagement, maybe a wedding, someone's birthday. You need a special cake to eat. Blow out some candles, celebrate the small milestones that we all achieve. Let the staff make all your cake dreams come to fruition today. Make sure and do it in "advance too!" We cannot win them all, and in the end we came out with a box of macaroons that my bestie loved.
