This evening we attended a special event at Coffee Note, a weekly Friday night gathering held from 6PM to 10PM. Tonight's theme was swing dancing, which kicked off with a beginner lesson at 6:15PM. The cover charge was a reasonable $15.50 per person and included a free drink from their selection of standard beverages. We went with the lemonade, which was served in an elegant champagne flute. It was decent, though it didn't taste freshly squeezed. The turnout was excellent--during the lesson, the place was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, with dancers filling every available inch of floor space. Afterward, a live jazz band took the stage and kept the energy high. The night was genuinely fun, with swing in the air and a lively, nostalgic atmosphere. It did get quite warm inside, but a couple of fans helped keep the air circulating. On regular nights, I understand Coffee Note shifts to a more relaxed open jazz jam session--perfect for sitting at a table with a drink and soaking in the sounds of America's musical past. I had never been before but the cashier answered all my questions and helped me pick a drink that I would enjoy. I decided on the "Iced Flynn" which was coconut based drink with their house made caramel sauce. It was delicious and refreshing in the Vegas heat. There are tables and seating around the space. I came to Desert Wind several years ago for a Yelp Elite Event with Nate. It was a great event, and I always loved their coffee, but its a little far for us. Well, we have recently found ourselves on this side of town a bit more, and we've come back on multiple occasions now, the most recent being last weekend. Service is absolutely top notch. We've not had any experience less than personable, friendly, and kind, with great conversation and recommendations. They roast their own beans, which thrills me, and the coffee is phenomenal. Stopped by mid-morning on a weekday and recieved my coffee and warm croissant within a few minutes. This is a nice coffee shop that has a wide range of coffee, tea and pastries. They have a good variety of coffee beans as well in case you're serious about your coffee. My coffee was well balanced and the croissant was good. What a wonderful experience I've had at this place now twice this week. They're hidden in a strip mall on the corner of Buffalo and Sahara, but I promise it's worth the treasure hunt to find them. The peanut butter cup latte is absolutely one of my favorite drinks I've had in town and the reason I've come back twice within three days. The service is absolutely phenomenal, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. They also get bonus points for actually having a couch. Wow! I really got put on! I absolutely loved this place. My husband had been a few times and kept telling me how awesome it was. I finally went and it has become my new favorite coffee spot. They have it all!!! Looking for a particular coffee, I'm sure they got it. The menu can be a lil overwhelming but the staff's very helpful. The music is not too low so you can actually have a study here as we were doing and there was a book club that showed up as well. I got the Gustavo and added the caramel syrup. I will say, the recent addition of offering home made pastries and dessert options by one of their baristas is fantastic. It appears she makes a random pastry or dessert option (I've seen apple pie like a McDonald's style hand held pie), macarons, toffee pudding, scones of various types and more. I've tried almost all of them and they are always great and the pricing is very reasonable for something home made. It felt like the baristas at this coffee shop lacked a proper understanding of coffee. I was excited because it was a roastery, so I asked if they offered pour-over coffee. The barista told me they had Rwanda and Ethiopia, so I ordered a cup of Rwanda. However, what I was served was auto-brewed coffee. On top of that, it had gone cold, and they reheated it using an espresso machine steam wand before serving it to me. I'm extremely disappointed, and the coffee itself was not good either. read more

This place has the best coffee I've ever had. But it's the Walter Whites that are my absolute go to drink for the perfect pick me up, plus it taste amazing. I'm not sure what makes them taste better than other places I've tried, but they definitely know what they're doing with those fantastic beans. When you walk in the most pleasant coffee smell just hits different, it's something I look forward to it every time. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I've been drinking their coffee for about 9 years and when I try other places or other beans, they just don't compare in flavor. cool hidden cafe spot, definitely has that desert and antique/western type of aesthetic- lives up to the name for sure. they sell desert animals magnets, crystal beaded bracelets, hand made pottery coffee mugs/bowls, collectibles and all kinds of unique hand crafts as well as their coffee beans. i was very excited for, either their matcha or the dirty thai tea. Their matcha is culinary grade rather than ceremonial, so i decided to pass on the matcha and try out the "Dirty thai tea latte" instead, now i was actually excited for it due to the fact it is a very unique combination as it is ( 2 expresso shots with thai tea latte) and i would say it definitely tasted amazing. The only downside is that the thai tea already comes pre made so you cannot alter the sweetness level or milk alternatives as it comes pre made with half and half milk. I usually like my drinks unsweetened~half sweet, so in my opinion it was veryyy sweet and i was unable to alter the sweetness level. overall, it is a unique place with unique hand made collectibles, if i happen to be near by i will give this place another try for a different coffee and milk alternatives, as this place has great reviews on their coffee i'm sure all it needs is the sweetness levels more balanced! read more
