One of the better parks of my childhood. Great picnic benches, playground, pond, fountains, and wildlife.

Beautiful park to get out and spend time alone or with family. There are two lakes that you can access for fishing,two playgrounds, walking paths and plenty of picnic tables, gazebos and green space to just hang out. There is plenty of parking nearby. There was a young kid there today making balloon animals for anyone who wanted one and was selling them for $1. Very kind and talented young man, and he was only 11 years old. The park grounds crew were there ensuring the grass was cut, watered and clear of debris! read more

This is a great park. I have been here a few times. This is my dog Chloe first time at this park. This park used to have two playgrounds. Today there is only one playground. The other playground is under renovation. The park itself has a decent amount of walking trail. The big pond is nice. There is a decent parking lot at the park entrance. The park looks clean when I went here today. It is also quiet today, which is nice and relaxing. read more

This is a very nice park with a paved walking path, tennis/pickleball courts, and 2 playgrounds. We took our little one to the new playground that recently renovated and reopened a week ago. It was very crowded and parking was miserable. I probably will avoid coming here on the weekends. read more

Des Peres park is charming and peaceful. I often go there to walk the nearly one mile path while enjoying the surrounding esthetics. It is very family oriented with two impressive playgrounds (one of which was newly erected) and a quaint gazebo. The gazebo is also new and looks gorgeous when lit up by the bulbs that surrounds the top. We sometimes will purchase lunch at a nearby restaurant and sit in the pavilion (if it is not already reserved) and admire the fountain in the lake. read more

I love exploring different parks - especially ones with walking trails. This park is directly next door to and shares a parking lot with the city hall. There is a big lake with a bridge to walk over, many dock type platforms to stand on and a nice, wide, paved walking trail. There are benches and picnic tables all around the lake area. They also have educational plaques that talk about the wildlife and what you may see around the park. I saw ducks and geese and they were fiesty chasing each other around! On the day I went I walked around the lake on the paved trail, then parked myself on a bench reading for a few hours. It was glorious! They also have a playground equipment, ball fields and a pavilion though I didn't really explore those areas they did look well taken care of. read more

Des Peres Park is a 42.5-acre park at the corner of Manchester Road and Ballas Road. There are entrances off both streets. Parking is ample. The park features paths (one mile, half mile, and quarter mile tracks), six lighted tennis courts, three baseball fields, two soccer fields, two playgrounds, a lake stocked with blue gill, bass, and catfish, wildlife, restrooms, a pavilion, and picnic areas. There are two playgrounds one geared to younger children and one geared for older children. One feature of the playground area is the Spray Fountain. The button to turn on the Spray Fountain is on the wall near the restrooms. I have been enjoying Des Peres Park my entire life. It is a beautiful and well-maintained Park. read more

One of the nicest parks in St. Louis County. I grew up not far from here and this is the park my grandparents brought me to in order to feed the ducks and play on the playground. It's had a lot of improvements since then but still lovely. I highly recommend Des Peres Park! read more

Officially my new favorite place to run after work. The trail around the park is only a little over a mile, so it takes a few loops to get in a good workout - but it's peaceful and empty most of the times I have gone here (except for the playgrounds). There is a pretty big parking lot for the size of the park, and a nice pond in the middle of it that allows catch and release fishing. The bathrooms are some of the nicest I've seen in a public park, and there are plenty of drinking fountains to get water from after running in the sun. It's no Forest Park, but it's a nice place to escape to for a while - even with busy Manchester right on the other side. read more

Fondly referred to in my family as "Goose Poop Park," the pond and it's water fowl & fish provide great outdoor entertainment. In addition to the pond, It's got a bit of everything: two separate playgrounds with equipment designed for big and little kids, water sprayer, pavilions, tennis and shuffleboard courts, baseball fields, clean bathrooms, ample easy parking, basketball courts, paved walking trail loops and live music nights in the summer time. It's a large park and beautifully laid out. Grew up going to this park and now take my kids here. Great place. read more

This is a really lovely park. It has a nicely paved 1 mile loop running trail (not perfectly flat, but nothing crazy) and a couple nice playgrounds for the kids. There is also a pretty, well-kept pond, tennis courts, baseball/soccer fields, picnic tables, fire pits, etc. As a bonus, you will always see the one mom at the playground who is made up in full night time make-up, nice outfit, heels. Heels. Trying to keep her kid from falling off the playground equipment while not mussing her coif or mascara. What's her story? Just wear some fricking work out clothes and athletic shoes, lady. You look ridiculous. But the park itself is nice. read more

Des Peres Park is a nice little paradise nuzzled right in the heart of the county. The main reason I go here can be explained in two words: TENNIS. COURTS. It's a great meet up spot for free tennis courts that are kept in good shape. They have plenty so it's usually not crowded...especially on week days. With the nice weather here it might get full on the weekends but I've never had a problem. The other nice asset this park has is the trail around the lake/pond. It's a nice walk/stroll. If you are with kiddos there is a playground so it has that going for it, too. Overall, Des Peres park is pretty nice...just not as pretty as some of the gems like Tower Grove and Forest Park. read more

I didn't get to spend much time here, but I had a nice little visit the other day! I had no idea that this little gem was tucked away, just across and down the street from West County Mall! It had a beautiful little pond, a soccer field and a great playground! According to the little map I looked over, there seems to be plenty of trail worth walking or running! Des Peres Park is a great place for the whole family. It has a lake, a running path, a baseball field and two playgrounds (one for smaller kids and one for older kids). The playground for the older kids even has a rock climbing wall. It's very cool! The playgrounds do feel a little far from each other so you just need to pay attention to that if you have kids in different age groups. There's also a water pad which is nice during the summer. It shuts off every 10 minutes so someone needs to go press the button to turn it back on. It's a little inconvenient but it makes sense in the perspective of saving water. There are also bathrooms on the premises. Right next to the playgrounds, which makes them very convenient. All in all, it's a great spot. Definitely check it out! read more

So, first off allow me to say the 2 stars are not based on the park itself, but on the people.... The park is lovely, very family friendly, walkways for residents to enjoy, playgrounds for the kids, baseball fields, the whole 9! Buuuuuut........ the people... oh the people. I really was a tad annoyed with them. Maybe this is more of a rant than a rating, but honestly I didn't feel very welcomed by them. I went there today with my significant other where we played catch, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. At one point he took off his shirt because he was getting hot, and a lady came up to him and said, 'excuse me, but this is a family park... no one wants to see you exposed.' The first thing that pops into my head is... what in the world? After we hung out, we went back to our cars and gave each other a hug goodbye, this woman in a BMW SUV drove slowly past us staring us down as if we were doing something wrong again! She gave us the stink eye which we both found amusing. None the less, it kind of took away from our day. Where I am going with this is -- I feel this is definitely more of a place for FAMILIES. Emphasis on the family part. A perfect place for young children and their mothers to go during the day to enjoy the weather and get out of the house...or nanny and kids. Which ever. On my personal note though, you definitely won't find me going there anytime soon. I will stick to my lovely, historical, diverse Tower Grove Park where everyone without judgment can frolic and be merry! read more

This park is a West County gem, nestled in the heart of the county and easy accessible from all over. We had come for my nephew's birthday and they had rented a pavilion for our use. It was an easy process and there were big signs up, informing people that it was unavailable the entire day. Lots of picnic tables under the cover, right next to the playground and the lake and plenty of grassy areas to let the kids and the dogs play around. There is a great path around the lake/pond and be sure to notice all the flowers around the area. read more

I love this park!! I'm not sure why everyone said it's so small, I think it's a great size. Two playgrounds which are very clean and nice! I appreciate how the smaller one is very toddler friendly. Lots of walking paths that surround a beautiful pond. There were people roller blading, walking, a birthday party under the pavilion, and even a baseball game going on, and it still wasn't crowded. This is an AWESOME park!! I loved my recent visit there. I didn't realize how big and pretty it was, despite having driven by many times. It has a pond, playing fields, restrooms, a paved walking/running trail, and two playgrounds: one for toddlers and the other for big kids (though it also has some toddler equipment). My toddler LOVED it! The toddler playground was so nice - had one of those surfaces that is like rubber, many places to climb, slide and swing. I could let him play pretty independently, which is rare. One of the things I really appreciated was that these two playgrounds were separate. Often there is a toddler section of a playground but "big kids" are all over being more wild and causing me to worry about my son getting bowled over. This playground was not like that, which I was grateful for. We also went to the "big kid" side and played there without a problem. I went down the big, twisty slide with him and had fun - I haven't been on a slide in years! We will be back many times. read more

Nice little park at Ballas and Manchester. We took the girls this evening as they had a free concert. It is a nice park with some tennis courts, ball fields and a pond. They have a couple of great playgrounds as well for the kids. I most definately will be back and I am glad to find it! read more

Two large playgrounds with swings and a nice climbing wall. Some shade (lots of trees so it depends on the hour). Also a small water feature (it was on during the summer Saturday afternoon that we were there). Lots of parking and seating for adults. This is a nice smaller park just off Manchester. It's nice to walk around or to sit back and just take in the surroundings. The nice thing is you can't hear the traffic on Manchester. Always a plus! You will see plenty of ducks, people walking around, and even some fishing. My recommendation is grabbing a slurpee from 7-eleven across Manchester and then coming over and just relaxing by one of the ponds. read more

I have been totally missing out these past few years when it comes to quality tennis courts. I have been one to play at the courts by CBC or the Ballwin pool, but these blow them away. They are situated in 2 court pairs, which make it nice. The nets and surfaces are very well kept. All the other facilities at the park are on the same standard as the courts. Every time I have been there I haven't had to wait for courts either. This is a great little park, can't wait to go back! read more

This by far is one of my most favorite parks in St. Louis. There are two separate play areas. 1 for smaller kiddos and 1 for the bigger kids. A nice field to play soccer and a small path that goes by a pond. Very great space. read more

This park is great for their beautiful biking/walking trails around the lake and their lighted tennis courts. They also have shuffleboard courts, two playgrounds, and three baseball fields. As far as I know, you can still fish here as well. We used to do this when I was a kid and I loved sitting on the little stone ledge by the bridge, dutifully holding my rod until something twitched on the end. There's a pavilion and a gazebo as well, and I like that they have clean restrooms handy. The only thing missing is a sand volleyball court. read more
