I have gone to The Jimmy two times now and enjoyed my experience both times. On my most recent visit, we were seated outside which I was nervous about with it being November, but we were on the covered patio with space heaters. The food was amazing! Every dish I have had from here has been exceptional. The Quatro Formaggi is the best cheese pizza I have ever had. That hot honey drizzle on top really elevates the dish. The only reason I gave this place a 4/5 stars is because of how long it took to get our food. Once we put our orders in, it took a solid hour to get our entrees with very little communication, and when our meals were brought to the table, no one apologized for the wait and nothing was discounted. I'm not saying the meal should have been free, but possibly one of the appetizers or dessert just for the amount of time it took. Regardless of the service, I will l be back in the future. read more

I had no idea this place existed. Supposedly that was the plan. Axios Charlotte shared the info today so I wanted to give it a chance. After speaking to Sarah and Talib,(both managers, Talib being the GM) it wasn't their intention to spread the word right away. They wanted to go slow and steady, to insure excellent food and service. Well, Axios changed their plans quickly. For day nine of being open and not expecting to be so busy, they handled it so well. Both myself and my dinner companion were so pleased with the whole experience. Philip our server, steered us in the right direction with all the recommendations. Unfortunately the Gnocco appetizer was sold out. I really wanted to try that but I understand if they got a bunch more people coming in than originally expected. The Pappardelle was the star of the show. I enjoyed every bit of my meal, the octopus was so unique and flavorful, the Margherita pie was great but I would say a little bit more cheese is needed. The linguini was excellent as well but the star of the show and the dish I will continue to think about is the Pappardelle. The beef was so tender and the pasta was so fresh. Book it now before it's hard to get in. This is a nice get for Charlotte. read more

Hooray! More high-end Italian restaurants are in Charlotte. We need them. Great decor and layout of the restaurant, it's usually crowded but the seating at the bar and sides is nice if you don't want a table. Started with the chopped salad was so delicious, it would make a great meal on its own. It's big, enough for 2to share. The paperdelle with brisket was great, also the linguini with mushrooms. the meatball pizza was @ drop undercooked but delicious--great dough, reminded me of some places in nyc.. It's a good to share dishes, like one meat entree (pork shoulder, steak, chicken ) plus an extra side is a meal for two. Finished with the Anna cotta, which was not too big and hit the spot. We have been excited to try this restaurant. We made a reservation online and were seated right when we got there. We ordered the chicken liver crostini, Caesar salad, Jimmy's pie, and the penne norma. Everything was fantastic. Cocktails were also great. We were also completely blown away by the service. This was definitely the best service we've had since the beginning of the pandemic. Giving this two stars because my Martini was very good but the Chicken Liver Crostini was awful. I have had very good Pate before but this was by far the worst. It arrived with whole pieces of liver and way too much of it. To me chicken liver crostini should be puréed. I should have sent this back- The bartender saw how much was on my plate when I said I was finished. Very unappetizing and disappointing. Once again, went to the Jimmy to give it yet another chance. We sat at the bar for dinner (our choice as we enjoy sitting at bars and eating). Service was excellent (Walter did a great job serving drinks and dinner). I started with the burrata salad - very tasty with a wonderful serving of delicious burrata mixed with greens and butternut squash - would highly recommend (although seemed a bit pricey at $19). My wife also had a salad (on the menu as the Local Lettuce) and said it was delicious - wonderful flavor and very fresh ingredients. Then came the entrees - and, unfortunately, just like the previous visits - they lacked flavor and were subpar for a restaurant with Chef Jim Noble's name attached. I had the bucatini (has the guanciale in it but did not taste or see any guanciale in the watered down, flavorless sauce). Pasta was cooked perfectly (al dente as it should be), but the sauce was very watery and lacked any flavor. My wife had the Margherita pizza (I tasted it) and it also lacked flavor in the pizza sauce (tasted almost like plain red sauce out of a jar or a can) - although the pizza crust was nicely cooked. There is enough competition in Charlotte for excellent restaurants (especially when it comes to Italian food) and, unfortunately, The Jimmy does not rate up there in this competition (although it always seems to be packed). I know Chef Noble can do better - just try his other restaurants - Roosters, King's Kitchen, Noble Smoke, etc. - but The Jimmy just does not live up to Chef Noble's high standards. You would think with Chef Noble's name in the name of the restaurant, he would ensure a higher standard of food and flavor. read more

Nice interior update since taking over the old Nolen's restaurant. Bright and cheerful entrance and bar area with large covered patio area. However our waitress was quite snarky and seemed bothered serving us even after handing everyone a mix of paper printed lunch and dinner menus, as if the mistake was on us. None stated the menu tripe or times... Food was underwhelming and very bland with modest portions and high prices. Ordered the local salad which was mostly a $13 bowl of lettuce with lite dressing and a few cucumbers. Cocktails were delayed we told because the bar got busy; however, we were one of 3 tables in the place. Ordered the homemade bread and olive oil, was surprised to see it come out a small butt piece and two modest slices of brown bread sitting in plain olive oil with no seasoning. The margarita pizza was pretty good, not too oily and had a chewy crust but not worth $20. Overall, it had been on the list of new places to try and it is now marked off the list. Best dining experience in Charlotte right now. I am beyond pleased with my experience here. Service was amazing, food was even better. Management staff was very supporting to their service staff, and I love seeing that. I am a server & a huge foodie. So when I come to a place and see that the service staff is supported by management, and everyone works together makes me like a place even more. Started off with Martini's and went to wine. We had the Chopped salad, Steak for two, and the summer squash & potatoes ended with the Chocolate Torta. Everything was perfect and paced accordingly. We were advised there was only 4 servers for the restaurant that night, and as busy as they were still probably the best dining experience I've had in a very long time. Myers park is not friendly! this is the rudest restaurant we've ever experienced. We walked into an empty restaurant on a Tuesday night and were rudely turned down By the hostesses. My girlfriends and i were so excited to have dinner here and unfortunately we left highly disappointed. For starters, it was raining and we had a hard time finding parking so we called to notify them we'd be a few minutes late. When we got there, the host was rude and had given away our table in the main dining area even though we were within the 15 minute grace period. So we had to sit in the enclosed patio on a rainy night. Fun. Our waiter seemed to constantly be in a hurry and was a bit off putting in the way he spoke to us. Now for the food which was less than mediocre to say the least. We started with the buratta which was good but the bread it was served with was so charred that it took over in flavor. We then got the agnolotti with walnut pesto which was pretty chunky and chewy and the lune was so so. The filling was merely puréed squash. we also ordered the acorn pizza which was not edible and tasted bitter. We each took one bite and placed our Slices back. Saved the best for last which was the polenta. By no means was it amazing but it was the best thing that evening. The waiter didn't care to ask if we enjoyed our meal or not even though it was obvious we did not like the pizza. To top it off, our cocktails were watered down and not good at all. Something else we noticed which was pretty concerned was someone funneling wine back into a bottle. We watched in shock wondering why wine that was already poured was being put back into a bottle. Reviews for this restaurant were excellent and I was excited to dine for the first time grilled octopus was tender however the marinated butter beans has no flavor and actually took away from the dish, the orecchiette with lamb Ragu failed in presentation and flavor as well. We also ordered two salads the radicchio caesar and the local lettuce. The anchovies in the caesar were not fresh and the local lettuce would have been better served without the benne seeds, they completely left out the ricotta salata which would have made a difference that salad. I hope it was a bad night in the kitchen this spot has needed a great restaurant for some time and I hope an honest review will be taken seriously and they make adjustment. read more

I loved this restaurant for Date Night this past weekend. Food was excellent, service was good and ambiance was lovely. Has a fun vibe. I would give them 5 stars it was that good BUT the white cotton towels they use as napkins shed badly, and I mean BAD. They look fun the way the tables are set but I was wearing black jeans and the lint was so bad we went straight home instead out for the rest of our evening plan. Couldn't de-lint the pants with a lint brush or a roller and they are now waiting to see if the washer can salvage them. I will not return unless I find out they have different napkins. Glad it wasn't a business meeting as I would have been mortified, at least my sweetie understood as his pants were covered too. read more
