After trying so many dentists, I am so grateful and blessed to have Dr. Joseph work on my teeth and my all family's teeth. He has the best loving, caring and mainly super professional personality. He makes you feel like home. His clinic has it all... an in house lab that includes full porcelain lab, milling machines and highest end ovens and staining kits to match natural teeth color. He has a surgery room and root canal room with surgical microscope. I can say he has the highest end equipment in town. I highly recommend him. I just had my crown done with zero pain. JM Dental caused me EXCRUCIATING, NON-STOP PAIN for WEEKS & left me feeling robbed. - Had a straightforward crown put in preventatively at their insistence (I'd never had any discomfort with that tooth) - Crown fell out within a few months, to my surprise. Had it recemented - Just 1.5 months later it FELL OUT YET AGAIN (didn't eat anything chewy/crunchy) - Dr. Joseph originally said he'd replace the crown, but then insisted on just recementing it again (said he'd now wait until the FOURTH time it needed to be put in). * Please note it isn't normal for a crown to be falling out so many times & a dentist to be so nonchalant about it.* - This third time he put it in, it was done so poorly that I immediately told him it didn't feel right & was way too high - He tried to slightly fix it (I made sure never to rush him). I told him it was still very uncomfortable, he said he would fix it more "next time" - I called a few days later on a Friday, soon after pain started. Didn't receive a call back as promised, but when my bf reached the Dr, he told us the pain was normal. - I said the pain was even waking me up at night, but Dr. Joseph stressed it was probably normal & to wait for my next appt - I asked what to do if pain got worse, instead of better (I thought he'd tell me to come in), but he repeated, "you just have to wait until your follow up appointment in 3 weeks" Come Monday I was waking up in the middle of the night SOBBING from the pain. I called JM Dental in tears to explain the situation & that I wanted to speak to the dentist. The receptionist said she'd have the dentist call me back. I never ONCE heard back from them again. - It took a number of other dentists & specialists (an orthodontist & two endodontists) to all just confirm there were significant problems with crown - Some problems mentioned were obvious high points, improper prep (this is what kept causing it to fall out over & over again), & crown being so thin it was expected to break soon anyway! - Specialists tried to help by reshaping crown, but the damage to ligaments was already done - Was recommended to try to wait to see if injuries from JM Dental would heal (I had a sprained tooth, which I didn't know was a thing!). I tried everything to manage the debilitating pain for weeks & nothing really helped (see photo). - Had to set alarms every 1-2 hours while sleeping so I could take more painkillers before pain got too out of control - Could only eat puréed food/soups/baby food for weeks & lost weight - Was the WORST PAIN I've ever experienced (& I've been run over by a truck, so that's saying something) - Was exhausted & literally couldn't focus on anything but pain management. My work/personal responsibilities had to be put on hold for weeks I understand healthcare workers make mistakes, they're only human, but his response (or lack thereof) spoke volumes. I was encouraged by other dentists to get a full refund since I had to redo the work within just 6-8 months (even Dr. Joseph had told me a crown is only successful if it lasts for 5 years). When I reached out to him, he gave me nothing but nonsensical excuses. He insisted he do the work himself, but that's all he would offer. I explained that after so many failed attempts & so much pain, I didn't feel comfortable getting additional work done from him. He would not even CONSIDER refunding me my money for the failed crown so I could get it fixed elsewhere. He made me feel like I owed him unlimited tries to get it right, but I couldn't put my body through that anymore. When I couldn't take it another day I had to borrow money so I could finally have ANOTHER dentist remove the crown that JM Dental put in & replace it with a new one. The relief was almost instantaneous & I haven't felt that awful pain since! (I'm still dealing with other issues caused by Dr. Joseph's work though). I really wanted to like JM Dental & even recommended them to others at first because they seemed nice. But a lot of their "pros" were actually red flags. Their conservative approach/minimal prep can cause their work to fail REPEATEDLY. I thought their unusually high number of follow-ups (for procedures that traditionally take 1-2 visits) was good customer service, but are more opportunities for something to go wrong. They're big on preventive work, but dentists later told me that the vast amount of expensive dental work JM Dental urged was simply unnecessary. There are many other skilled local dentists. There's NO reason to risk your health, well-being & bank account by coming here. I waited a couple of months to post this in hopes they'd have a change of heart & right their wrongs- but they never once reached out even though they were FULLY aware of what they put me through. This was disheartening. I practically NEVER write negative reviews, but if I can prevent even one person from undergoing the misery this dentist caused me then it's worth it. PLEASE DON'T COME HERE. It could be a NIGHTMARE. read more

My experience with Dr Atalla has been extremely good very thorough and explained treatment and my option. He even gives you a tour of the office. My whole family have switched over to him do to my great experience. The staff is friendly and the office is clean I love his new high tech chairs love the view and he uses high quality material. Thank you JM Dental for such a phenomenal experience especially during COVID. Staff is constantly practicing social distancing and in masks at all times. I noticed that they sanitize every room after any use and there's also never more than one to two patients present. They follow all protocols prior to entering facility. Mina is extremely passionate about his work and is truly an artist. I got my cleaning done, implants and veneers. I absolutely love my smile and my veneers look so natural. By far the most professional and accurate Oral Master in Southern California. I had some serious issues with my teeth and it was not an easy task... However, it was no issue for Dr. I have had family friends go to Dr Atalla and finally I gave in. I will never go to another Dentist again. We formed a conservative plan to get ALL my teeth where they need to be. Though no one likes to visit the dentist, your not going to be any more comfortable than JM Dental. I'm someone who doesn't fear or mind going to the dentist. The only thing that scares me is the price. I had an awful experience with a local dentist in Los Angeles (despite having researched them and read their glowing reviews). My boyfriend, bless him, reached out to Doctor Atalla because his family has gone to him for a lot of work. I didn't want to go to second dentist when I had already had work in progress with another, and I definitely didn't want to go to a dentist that was a good 50 miles from my home. After going to Doctor Atalla just once, I found myself wishing I had done that from the start. He and his dental assistant, Patty, are incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, forthcoming, and comforting to their patients. The doctor is a perfectionist - he won't let you leave that office if he's not happy with the work, or if you're not. He will check and double check to make sure everything is perfect, not just right now but for the long-term of your dental health. What I appreciated the most was that he's even fixing the shoddy work my LA dentist did. I can't even imagine the problems I'd run into years down the line if I hadn't gone to Doctor Atalla and realized just how bad the dental work I'd gotten really was. Thank god he's intervening before the other dentist did irreparable damage. Best of all, he was kind enough to work with me on the bill because I had so very much work to get done. I dropped my Los Angeles "dentist" (you know, I'm not sure if anyone in that office was even certified) immediately and have only gone to Doctor Atalla since. It's a hike for me to get there from Los Angeles, but I wouldn't trust anyone else. Like I said, for me personally, the dentist experience isn't that scary. But what I can tell you is that, if it is for you, you want Doctor Atalla. He'll check in with you, make sure you're not in pain, ask you if you have any questions or concerns, and best of all - there's a TV with a ton of shows and movies so you can watch something fun and entertaining to take your mind off of it (if you want). He's got those fun glasses with the mirrors so you can see the TV while supine, and the gloves are flavored (you get to pick which flavor he wears). How cool is that? I recently visited Dr. Atalla's office for a tooth removal/implant that's been bothering me for years! I always dread my dental visit but my experience at The JM Dental has been wonderful! Dr. Atalla is very meticulous with this work, he explained the whole process (tooth extraction, infection removal, bone grafting, and crown placement) from start to finish. My entire visit was pain free, including local anesthesia, and completed meanwhile I'm watching a movie. Dr. Atalla took an additional X-ray afterwards to verify everything is in place. The entire crew is super friendly and office is equipped with most advanced dental technologies. Post-op instructions were explained to advance healing/avoid infection and Dr. Atalla personally followed-up the next day. Very bad customer service. Had one of their employees go selling $60 vouchers for teeth whiting . The guy named Andy who sold me it told me they opened weekends which i hoped for because i work Monday- Friday all day finds out they are closed weekend. I bought the voucher on Wednesday afternoon . Andy told me to call tomorrow (Thursday) morning to set an appointment. So I did.. the receptionist didn't have any answers to my questions she kept saying "let me call you back". After the second time she said that she never called back . I didn't hear from them on Friday either. It's like they don't work Friday Saturday or Sunday. Dr. Atalla is one of the best dentist I have ever been too. Unfortunately I had to stop coming because I got married and moved to Florida leaving behind my favorite dentist. One of the things I always appreciated was Dr. Atalla was always honest about any dental procedure you need. He would take the time to explain the procedure itself and the long term benefits. I had all my silver fillings replaced with white ones and Dr. Atalla did an amazing job. You wouldn't be able to tell I had silver fillings. Also another thing I appreciated was he would always work on giving me a good price. My dad has also been going to see Dr. Atalla and has been happy with him. Let me start out by saying that my fear of the dentist is absolutely real and nothing to play about. I have panic attacks just thinking about going to the dentist! But, Dr. Atala at The JM Dental is simply amazing! He has done a lot of work on me and I don't mind being in his chair. He is very calm and soft spoken and explains things throughly to you before he starts working. His office is pretty state of the art! He has everything he needs in his office to do the job. Need to have surgical extraction done? No problem! (He did one on me!!) he even has TV's with Apple TV in all of his rooms. When you walk into the waiting room, you are greeted by a calming water fountain and a little zen type garden he made (yes, he made it himself!). You are welcome to have a cup of coffee or tea while you wait. Patty, his assistant/receptionist is is very polite and very knowledgeable as well. She helps with procedures and she runs the front desk! Just as a side note: Dr. Atala was going to school to be an MD, but fell in love with dental implants and switched over to be DDS!!! The best dental service I have received! Dr. Atalla is meticulous and takes pride in his work, he took his time and I genuinely felt he cared about how my teeth looked. I had 4 crowns done and he recommended a superior product which I'm glad I took his advice on. My crowns are perfect! They look and feel so natural and he matched them exactly to the color of my other teeth - you can't tell that I have any crowns on!
