The Dr.'s here are ALL super nice, knowledgable, welcoming and comfortable to be around. I especially like Dr. Erin, she is very personable and doesn't mind if you have a lot of questions. She's gentle and very easy to talk to! The appointment takes no time at all and I've never waited for longer then 5 minutes for my adjustment. The front desk staff are super nice too. I was a wreck before coming here. I couldn't stand for more then an hour without feeling like my back was achy. I had some right knee issues along with some right shoulder issues, nothing major but still uncomfortable. I told myself that the pain and stress in my upper shoulders was just from plain stress. The worst adjustment and $40 I have ever spent. The "chiropractor" didn't ask about my history, preferences, discomfort or anything. He tried 3 very light adjustments; one in the mid upper back and neck adjustment on each side. No lower back, hips, feet or anything. When I say light, I mean a foam roller was more effective. I will never be returning!!! The front desk is very nice, Jasmine. The doctor never got to know me as a patient. I can't remember his name and he isn't in any of the pictures. He never asked how I felt and why. He said we need to treat you 2x a week because your spine isn't good. Showing me what a spine looks like. He also never asked what I wanted. Just said things to me. It was very clear, that his job is to get sell a package of appointments, following the company guidlines. Like a monthly subscription. I think The Joint is a very shitty place to get any wellness treatment. You talk about wellness everywhere but only offer Adjustments without preparation. Which is very uncomfortable. That coupled with your horrendous business model, I will never return. All you have here is a turn and burn operation. You are the McDonalds of Chiropractics! This is an emotional review. I have been suffering from daily sciatica pain in the past 3 months (after an accident that happened in the gym). My MRI result showed that I had a bulging disc on L4-L5 and L5-S1. On top of that, I have chronic pain (8+ years) on my neck due to another bulging disc on C4-C5. What keeps me "OK" is my discipline to follow a physical therapy program. Despite my progress, pain is always with me on a daily basis. So, I decided to give The Joint Chiropractic a try, when I got there I met Dr. James Jacques he performed some spine manipulations on me, and by the end of the section, he asked me to make an assessment. It took me 15 seconds or so to look for a sign of pain in my body. I was shocked to notice that I was pain-free in that very moment, I was so astonished that I couldn't help myself but cry. I haven't been to a chiro in over a year. Back has been bothering me, went to this location even after reading mixed reviews. Doctor was fast, did a good job, didn't give me a spiel on the benefits. I already feel better. Basically said come back once a week, pay 70$ for 4 treatments a month. Gave me a free adjustment too. Glad I didn't have to hear any BS. After paperwork was filled out, took about five minutes. It's about what you're expecting. I want to be able to stop in after work and quickly and get some back pain relief without drugs. Well...I personally like the business model and love chiropractic care. It's just that I was a little disappointed by my adjustment at this particular location... A friend and I were visiting Austin for the weekend. Since I have some spinal curvature and have been in a couple of accidents, chiropractic care has made a noticeable difference in lessening the pain and increasing my energy. When you already know your issues, it's great that they have locations all over that share patient info, history, notes, etc. for when you travel. My adjustment lasted maybe two minutes after waiting a good 15-20 for the doctor to finish with another patient. Granted, the patient before me seemed new (and the Dr. was by herself) but I found it odd that she only chose to adjust one side of my body. She definitely didn't ask me how I felt afterwards. Just said "let's have you go ahead and sit up" and then "enjoy your weekend." She was kind and I don't expect her to get all in my Kool-Aid, but it was still not up to the level of service I'm accustomed to. I had never been to a chiropractor before and was very nervous. My friend recommended The Joint and wouldn't take no for an answer after I threw my back out at work. I wait tables where I'm on my feet constantly and have to carry very heavy trays, so I had just accepted a life of sore shoulders, a stiff back, and a very very limited turn radius in my neck. After going to the joint just once, I felt a major improvement in the pain and inflexibility I was having. Definitely making this a part of my weekly routine. I came to The Joint with some reservations about whether or not I could actually be helped. I was in a lot of pain, I could barely turn my head either direction, and I felt like I had exhausted all other treatment options. I love watching chiropractors snap their patients in difference directions on Youtube. The crunch sound is so satisfying. Maybe snap isn't the right word, "spinal adjustment" would be accurate when describing what chiropractors do. I go to the Joint for maintenance, as a recreational bodybuilder /s, I try to keep my body straight, aligned, and mobile to prevent injuries. I myself am all about preventative healthcare and so is The Joint. You can communicate your problems to them with the snap of a finger they know what's up! All of the doctors at this location are especially awesome. The pricing also works well on a budget like mine and the receptionists are more than happy to talk about options with you. The doctors are also excellent at helping set up a regimen that works with you. Despite being a chain, none of them act like salesman or a large corporation, which is especially important to me. I was a little weary at first when I found out the Joint was a chain, but I'm so happy I gave it a chance. The price can't be beat and the service has been great at all four locations I've been to in Austin. The Mueller location is by far my favorite, though. Dr. Shaw and Dr. Murphy are both great and their adjustment styles compliment each other well. I especially love that they adjust hips since mine give me trouble because I have a shifted vertebrae in my lower back. I'm so happy I went for the wellness plan - an adjustment a week is perfect to help get my body in order after long days at work coupled with a love of the outdoors/fitness. I started coming to The Joint due to a rotator cuff injury. I couldn't lift any weight with my right arm or stand up or sit down without having issues. I basically couldn't lift or move my arm without being in intense pain. I didn't want a quick fix by going to a minor emergency clinic for pain medication, and I was told by a friend to go to see a chiropractor. I had seen one in the past for a back injury but wasn't sure if that could fix what was going on. I thought I might need surgery. After my first visit with Dr. Ponce a few months ago, my pain went from a 10 to a 8. Even this small relief made such a difference. He spent every session going over physical therapy suggestions, and adjusting gently as I was in so much pain. By week 3, my pain was down to a 4. I can now move my arm freely and lift light weights. He's a miracle worker and I still see him regularly. Also, Jasmine at the front is incredibly friendly! She always greets me with a warm welcome and informs me of any deals coming up.
