I'm happy to see a new kebab shop in Pickering! My husband and I have been here a couple of times now and have tried the barg, chicken breast, shish and tandoori kebabs. The meat was tender and flavourful but of the four, the tandoori and shish kebabs are definitely the winners for me. The redesign of this space is inviting and comfortable to be in. The service is quick and friendly making this restaurant a great place to enjoy a meal. I look forward to working my way through their menu and supporting this new restaurant in our community. I wish them much success!

A bit expensive for the type of food and amount of meat you get versus everything else. We got sooooo much rice that by the time we finished the meat there was still like a full box of rice left! The naan bread is fluffy. Samosas are nice and bite sized made from fluffy puff pastry. Meat were seasoned well and not dry. The tandoori is super popular here but the other meats are good too!! It's nice to have a good mix of the meat so the meal doesn't get tiring to eat. Comes with good side sauces and salad.

Tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner. I had the kabob dinner with beef, naan, rice and salad. Beef was your standard one skewer and there was way more rice than you needed. As far as taste it was pretty good, I would definitely go back as it was pricey at 15.00

First off - lovely interior. Very clean - not a huge area, but has good sitting and private room. Tried out variety of dishes - pretty much their whole menu Great flavors, their Mantoo is one of the better ones from most places I've had...I usually don't like Mantoo, but it was good here. The lamb shank with rice was amazing. Amazingly tender lamb (like butter!) Tandoori chicken on Fries was ridiculously good! The combination is awesome? - def ask them to sauce it up! Salmon is like...salmon! (I'm not a huge fish person! Lol) The tandoori chicken pizza was good as well! The portion is great!

Came here with my friend for a post workout meal and this seemed to be the healthiest option around, and I'm really glad I stopped by! I really loved the atmosphere and decor had a carry homelike and cozy feel to it. I ordered a tandoori chicken wrap and it was blessed. The wrap came together perfectly and the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I will defiantly be back to try some of the other dishes, I would highly recommend this place

Came here to try out their food. I had the falafel with fries while my niece had the beef shish kabob. Food was tasty and I like that you can get the main courses without rice (just salads and naan) for a cheaper price. The fries was a little too salty for my liking. Place is nice and clean. Love how they mix modern pieces with their cultural pieces. I would come back here to try out the rest of the menu.

Great, tasty food - korma and mantoo

This place is a wonderful addition to the area. It is clean, with friendly staff and with great tasting food. My recommendations are: mantoo - a tasty steam dumpling filled with ground beef and drizzled with light fresh yogurt; bolanee - a roti filled with tasty potato; mains - tandoori chicken kebab, or shish kebab. I find the tandoori chicken has great flavour and so moist. They offer beef korma - although it's not on the menu and the chicken breast kebab will not disappoint either. The naan is typical Afghani naan and is a great side if you pick the korma. Very nice host who offers suggestions for the undecided. I plan on trying all dishes! For mains- definitely tandoori chicken kebab :)

Amazzzzzzingggggggg food!! Great service! Their muntoon were so good I would defiantly go back!!

Tip: The chicken shawarma salad was excellent!…read more I have frequented Perkins Restaurant in Pickering a couple of times. To get to it by vehicle, you need to drive by this Shawarma Royale. I've made a mental note to drop by Shawarma Royale. I've been to its Scarborough location years ago. I needed a refresher. I drove around the building and parked fairly close to the entrance. I then walked in. This eatery is spacious. There are lots of places to sit down and enjoy your meal. The tables are generously spaced out. I headed over to the order area. There was a couple in front of me. I looked at the menu to see what I wanted. I saw chicken shawarma salad. Perfect! The woman taking my order was so sweet and nice. She asked me if I wanted any sauces. I went with tahini and garlic sauce. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I got my receipt and joined others waiting for their food. I saw a man slice the chicken shawarma that would comprise my salad. I saw another man putting my salad together. Watching my food being prepared was wonderful. It also made me hungry. My order was ready. The woman asked me whether I was dining in or doing takeout. It was the latter. She put my container of happiness in a clear plastic bag, with a fork and napkins. I thanked her. What's special about this place is that all three staffers said thanks and hoped that I'd enjoy my food. i liked that nice touch. I put my food in an insulated bag and drove home. I then had dinner. The chicken shawarma on my salad was still warm. I loved my meal. The veggies were crisp. This place was generous with the pickles and pickled radishes. I loved how yummy the chicken shawarma was. Each slice was tender. The tahini and garlic sauce brought every ingredient together. I'd get this salad again. I should try a bowl, too. I had a great experience. I'd return for more when I'm in the area. (465)

Updated review May 18 Victoria day…read more I decided to grab some shawarmas after our walk at Frenchman's Bay. When I entered the restaurant there some people dining in and others waiting for their orders. The chicken duo deal $16.99 is an online only deal. The cashier was trying to ring in my order but didn't realize it's an online offer. The food prep staff told me to order online. The online order process is pretty easy to use and you can customize your wrap and bowl. The Queen wrap comes with pickles, garlic sauce and pomegranate molasses. You have the option to choose your own toppings up to 3 choices. The Queen regular bowl has similar toppings and it's served on top of rice. The food was pretty good but I would say the chicken portions left more to be desired. The only downside here is that restaurant was understaffed and I waited about 30 minutes for my order. If the wait wasnt too long I would give them 4 stars.

Although…read morethere are signs on the sides of the tiny building and on the door, it could easily be mistaken for the service entrance to one of the other two businesses occupying the building. Despite my reservations, I entered and walked into a tiny space that actually had seating for 6-8 diners. The really odd thing about this place, it has no windows! There was a very young fellow taking orders at the cash and two adults who I'm going to assume were his parents. I was the only guest at the time and I was looking over their menu on the wall above the counter, deciding what to order. None of them offered any suggestions and actually didn't say anything unless I asked a question, you know, like "What do you recommend?" Silence. No points for customer service. Noticing the two vertical rotisseries, I ordered the dinner plate to go, which included a choice of beef or chicken shawarma, rice, potatoes, and salad. I chose the large size for 11.99. The medium was 9.99. No price shown for small. It ended up being a lot of food crammed into a styrofoam box. And then he asked me if it was "for here or to go?" It was already in a takeout box! I had no desire to sit and eat in this tiny little closet. Anyway, there really was a lot of food stuffed into the box. The salad was delicious. I'm not sure what all the components were but it tasted really good. The fries had gotten a bit soggy but they were still okay. The rice was tasty and plentiful. I had gotten a combination of beef and chicken shawarma and both tasted good but the serving was a bit small compared to all the sides, making it not so great value for the price. But it did taste good. If the atmosphere and customer service were more inviting, I would probably go back but there are too many other places to consider.

It's not exactly the type of place you'd take someone for a date, though. I ordered the Crown Combo for $9.99 + tax. I inhaled the shawarma (well-seasoned meat!), and couldn't stop eating the garlic fries despite them being a little on the soggy side. I'd come back. :)
