I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl, a saffron chicken wrap, hummus and falafel on the side. The flavors did not do it for me. I love tang but nothing tasted pickled. The hummus had a wierd after taste and a tang that lingered like a bad aftertaste. I understand lemon but it wasn't fresh citrus. I've had such amazing hummus in my life and this did not come close. Falafels arrived warm and they are good. Nothing extraordinary. Hummus came with 1 pita and the texture of pita was off. It did not look or taste like pita. My wrap was saffron chicken wrap with fiery sauce, all veggies and no tomatoes. It was a nice wrap but chicken was scanty. I had to hunt for chicken. Again, their sauces did not do it for me. This restaurant is located in the Brokaw plaza across the street from Brokaw Commons which is a great location with a bunch of surrounding restaurants. The interior is super spacious with plenty of seating and they have a self-ordering kiosk which I always prefer (nothing against the staff, they are very friendly and welcoming!) I ordered the protein bowl with saffron chicken and added tzatziki sauce as well - soooo good! The chicken is tender and flavorful and the tzatziki sauce is on par with the ones I've tried in Greece. In my opinion, tzatziki sauce can either make or break a meal and they've really got it down. I'd like to mention though that since the protein bowl already came with hummus and garlic yogurt, adding on the tzatziki sauce made my bowl too saucy (that was my bad) so next time I'll switch out the garlic yogurt. Luckily, the staff were so very kind to give me a side of greens to mix in so I could balance it out - 10/10 customer service. Bring a vegetarian I always feel I have less options but this place has falafel, fries, crave fries, falafel wrap and also falafel salad. After telling them to check their greens, the employee just went back to prepping another customers food without any concern. We stood around for quite some time even after we had already decided on what to get- still no word from staff. We were left just standing around until a gentleman finally makes his way over to the register area. The order for the night: *SUPER DUPER WRAP w/ MIXED CARVED MEATS- made with hummus, fries, picked onions, cilantro jalapeno sauce *CRAVE FRIES- fries topped with feta cheese, garlic yogurt, + pickled onions. *Fountain Drink x2 Food: Portions here are MASSIVE. The food here can easily be shared and our party of two still had leftovers. Granted, the meal was very carb-y. The super duper wrap was great- the carved meats were tender, flavorful, and each bite was so very balanced. The crave fries were delicious- very filling, flavors married with each other magically, and the fries were a good amount of crisp/fluff. I couldn't stop eating this. 4 solid stars for the food but the lack of recognition to customers could not be overlooked. During our visit, I noticed a patron almost leaving due to the long wait and another lady who had been standing around for a good amount of time finally flagged a worker asking if she was supposed to order @ the register area. The food you get does not justify the price. $15.8 plate + $1.9 lamb + $1.50 for a tortilla (they call it a flat bread). With tax it added up to $21. With that price you still can only choose two sides for the plate option, but it doesn't really feel like a side because nothing is included besides the meat itself. While failing to provide the generous servings of sides the way a chain like chipotle or Sam and curry would, it also fails to provide a filling or satisfying plate lunch style meal. It might be worth it if somehow the quality of food or flavor was somewhat good, but there is really nothing special about any protein, side, or sauce. The store is clean and nicely decorated but the fall down was the food and pricing. To be clear, I am using Sultan Kebab as a comparison for both food quality, quantity, and variety. There was no Salmon option unlike the Sultan in Pleasanton. The chicken here was a single skewer and even though it is a large skewer, it is still less chicken than the four small skewers the Sultan servers. No hummus with the combo meal unlike the Sultan who gives rice, salad, chicken, and hummus with the combo plate. This would not validate a two star beat down in normal circumstances, however, the chicken was really dry which usually results in a three star beat down but a single star was redeemed due to the great sauces available next to the drink stand. Add a little hummus and serve moist, soft chicken and you will have a five star establishment. read more
