I ordered for takeout on GrubHub. When I got back home, the food was fresh and delicious. I ordered the regular platter and chose the beef/chicken combo. The platter comes with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and some pita bread. For an extra charge, I added some other toppings which were jalapeños, green pepper, and onions. Those were a must. It also comes with their packet of white sauce and hot sauce. The service was fast since my food was already ready when I got there. The staff were also friendly. Inside, the restaurant felt clean. I came by on a Monday evening and saw the chairs upside down on all of the tables in the indoor dining area (except where customers were eating), the interior of the place looking like most restaurants do 5 minutes before closing time. But I was there more than 2 hours before closing time, so it was a surprise to see this and it made the place feel a little less inviting. I ordered a small beef gyro platter for takeout. It took just a couple minutes to prepare from the food station, and service was standard, with the staff providing extra white sauce packets on the side per request. The meat didn't taste as fresh as I usually get from other locations, but it was still tasty along with the other ingredients which seemed to be of good quality. It made for a satisfying meal, consistent in flavor to what I always get at HG. I haven't had Halal Guys in years, and now I know why. It's overrated. I think other Mediterranean chains are better like TKS. First, it was slow, no one was at the counter for a some time. We were the first ones there. Ordered quick and received food right away. I had a small combo plate with chicken and gyro meat with all the fixings. I feel like this is a chipotle version of the food, and could've been more flavorful. I ate a third of my plate and that's all I could stomach. The white sauce is fine, I also don't understand the hype. Bathroom is clean but workers here don't flush. I hope they wash their hands when dealing with our order. read more

Great food for a great price point! I remember the YEE back when this location opened and it was a great reminder of that again! As always, love their chicken and beef bowl with polices! I've only been to The Halal Guys in New York City and loved it, so I was excited to try it in Santa Clara...and it did not disappoint. We were at Barebottle Brewing next door, which lets you bring in outside food. I had the Small Platter with Beef Gyro and Chicken which was $11.99 and I think the portions are good. It was delicious and how I remember it. Service wasn't what I would necessarily say friendly, but they were efficient. Order was quick and correct for the four items I ordered. I really like Halal Guys and I've been coming to this location since it first opened, but I haven't been there in awhile- Shrinkflation is REAL. My regular size platter was 75% sad looking lettuce, and the employee gave me the tiniest scoop of rice they could get away with serving me, and just enough protein to cover the rice portion. I requested their promotion of buy one get one free I double checked it. That's what I ordered, but they gave me was one single order and they also put that on my receipt. . The Halal Guys has been my go to recovery meal from a long night/weekend out. Something about it just makes me feel full yet still light on the portion and toppings instead of indulging on heavy, greasy, fast food. Great for lunch breaks too since it is fast but not falling under the category of "fast food" I usually order the Beef Gyro Platter which comes with beef gyro, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and pita bread. It doesn't come with much pita bread though only for a few bites. You could also get 1/2 chicken 1/2 beef which I got my first time but I really like their beef so I just get the beef gyro platter. Their falafel is really good as well, crispy on the outside but keeping it soft on the inside without it being dry. Their white sauce is so good and it pairs nicely with everything. If you want to kill your stomach lining they have the perfect hot sauce for it. The hot sauce and the white sauce balances it out so well.
