Social media strikes again... I came across a reel on IG featuring Iraklis. The food looked intriguing and scrumptious...in other words FIRE! I would not have known about this place if it wasn't for the reel. I'm also not familiar with Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. Thought I'd give it a shot. Not the biggest of venues, it a bit small on the inside, they have few benches and tables outside. Parking wasn't an issue, plenty of spaces in the parking lot. The staff was very helpful and informative. This is a fast casual spot with table service. They do bring the food to you, but you can help yourself to everything else afterwards, is: water, sauces, napkins etc. #SyrianEats: WRAP: ~ SHAWARMA: Damascus style CHICKEN - 5/5 Absolutely DELISH!! Was craving a chicken shawarma, so I went off to TikTok and found SO many recommendations for Iraklis! We placed an order for pickup and got two original chicken shawarma wraps. The garlic spread that was in the wrap was addicting! I definitely recommend eating it with the chili sauce for an extra kick. The chicken that I got was a bit dry... but nothing the sauce couldn't help fix. The portion size was HUGE; I think I probably could've been satisfied with eating just half of it. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Iraklis yet! I've tried quite a number of things on the menu, and have thourugly liked just about everything! My favorites include the shawarma lamb wrap damascus style, falafel tacos, the original chicken shawarma wrap, and of course the pickles and toum. I also really enjoyed the Fatteh. You can't really go wrong with anything here, it's just about what your personal favorites are. The wrap also comes with a garlic sauce, which I recommend asking for extra of, and a little bit of pomegranate molasses. The molasses is a unique touch, but I had mixed feelings about it. Finally, definitely go for the chili paste if they offer it to you. It's hot and adds a lot of dimension to the experience. I took my food to go but I recommend dining in. Four and half stars. I really love Middle Eastern food and all the shawarma videos I've seen on Youtube and how. Alot of people have said that the Syrian version is the best I know I needed to try it. Behold Iraklis ended up being only five minutes from my house. I remember that this place used to be so many other restaurants,and now has been replaced by this great place. You know the food is going to be good when the owner or manager comes out to ask you how the food is to each costumer. I felt that warmth for sure. As for the food it was very delicious the stand out was of course was rmthe shawarma I got chicken which came with the pomegranate molasses, which was good, but maybe next time I can ask for a little less because I do want to also try the chicken flavor itself, which is why I also for the chicken kakbab on the side to which was very well seasoned and delicious. The pickles and hummus on the side for both plates are a very nice touch they help cut some of the richness down. The fries are the underrated gem also. The way they are fried and cooked here, I think they do fresh batches every time, that is the vibe I get with this place. The hibiscus juice was also really refreshing to drink. Tried Iraklis today after a friend highly recommended it! It's a fast casual middle eastern restaurant on El Camino, that's home to a bunch of other really good spots. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant who was working the register while also serving customers. He was very warm and welcoming, ready to answer our questions or help us make decisions on what to order. I got the lamb shawarma plate that comes on a bed of rice, side of hummus, salad and pickled radish for $17.99. Price wise I felt that this was a good chunk of food for your buck. The flavor of the lamb was nothing super crazy it has a blend of sweet and savory from the pomegranate glaze. There are about 6 or so tables inside for dining in. I decided to try the falafel plate and my husband ordered the chicken shawarma plate. We also ordered the sujuk and cheese manakish. Our food was delivered to us very quickly. The sujuk and cheese manakish was so delicious. Sujuk is an Armenian sausage made with lots of spices. It's really delicious and worked so well with the melted cheese on the flatbread. My felafel tasted great but the exterior was hard. I think it got fried a little too long. The middle was nice and soft. It tasted good with the tahini sauce and pickled turnips. The hummus is amazing here. They make that fresh on site. It also came with a nice salad with tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber and a spiced rice. The rice is delicious and tastes like there is a bit of all spice in it. My husband's chicken shawarma plate was good the chicken was a bit dry but worked well with the garlic sauce it came with. The chicken had great flavor, it was just overcooked. Iraklis is located in a shopping center that shares a parking lot with several other businesses - some restaurants, some retail. Parking towards one side of the center can get packed - the lines are small and tight which makes parking a hassle. Thankfully, Iraklis is located on the side that has much more space and less people tend to park this far out. This is my 2nd time here. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and a turkish delight for dessert. Service was quick and friendly and I had my food in about 10 minutes. The decorations inside was cute - flower vines and whimsical items hanging from the ceiling. Overall, a place I'd like to sit and enjoy some time - but not this time as I was on a time crunch. She was so kind and patient with all of her questions and provided excellent recommendations based on our preferences. But to be honest with you, above all you go to a restaurant so you can try food that is good. And honestly, this was some of the best hummus and falafel I've ever had. It's difficult to find a place that truly captures the falafel texture how it should. We were walking around Santana Row and thought we'd try Iraklis, a casual Lebanese eatery that's about 10 minutes away. This spot comes highly rated by Yelpers and I'm one of them, but it fell short during our visit. My guy went to order our food at the register while I sat down at a table, so I didn't know what appetizer he ordered. I only told him I wanted a shish tawook wrap. He stood there for a few minutes chatting with the cashier in hopes of getting something authentic and yummy! He came back to the table looking confused and uncertain as he sat down. He said he had gotten Foul Jordanian Style which is something that's popular among customers, at least that's what the cashier told him. There was no description on the menu of what he had ordered. I didn't think much of it. But when it came, we were disappointed to see mashed up beans and garbanzo beans with diced tomatoes on top with a few sprinkles of spice. Jordanians eat beans like this?! And that was $12.99! The pita bread didn't seem fresh either. It was chewy and not airy or fluffy. We ate it, because we were hungry, but it sat heavy and ruined our appetite. Definitely something unexpected and highly disappointing. Seriously, it tasted like refried beans from a can with middle eastern spices. Unfortunately, those beans gave me heartburn too (among other things!). Thankfully, we ordered other food that tasted better. My chicken shish twook wrap was juicy and delicious. Eating the beans filled me, so I could only eat half. My guy got a chicken shawarma plate that was plentiful and tasty, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. We got some garlic spread from the cashier which helped. But even toum, the garlic spread was dense like mayonnaise. The texture did not taste authentic. We came here one evening for dinner. It's a nice restaurant with nice decor, saw some dishes I haven't seen at other restaurants before which was nice. We ordered the lamb plate, Damascus chicken wrap, falafel and the foul Jordanian style. The lamb plate came with marinated lamb, with rice, hummus, pickled turnips and a salad. The salad was a bit tart for me but when mixing it with the other components of the dish it was more well balanced. Lamb was good so was the hummus. The Damascus chicken wrap came with thinly sliced chicken which was seasoned nicely with a garlic spread, pickles and pomegranate molasses on a wrap. It also came with a side of pickles and garlic toum. This also came with a side of fries. The chicken wrap was flavorful and delicious, I like how the wrap on the outside was crispy too. The fries were okay, they were definitely fresh but probably need to be twice fried so there would be a crispy outside. The fries were seasoned well though. We also got the falafel which had nice seasonings, and a side of tahini to dip in. The foul Jordanian style was new to me, I've heard of foul which is made with fava beans, mixed with yogurt, tomatoes, and other seasonings. I had a great experience at Iraklis Restaurant on Friday when a female team member helped me with my order. It was my first time visiting, and she was friendly, patient, and made the ordering process easy. Unfortunately, my experience today was completely different. The employee working at the front counter (I don't know his name, but he was wearing glasses) was rude and unhelpful. He didn't seem to know how to speak to customers respectfully. Not only was he disrespectful to me, but I also saw him being rude to two other customers in front of me. The kitchen staff prepared my order and placed it at the pickup window, but the front employee seemed too lazy to hand it over. When he asked if I wanted sauce and I said yes, he told me I would have to pay extra. On my previous visit, the employee helping me included the sauce without any issue, so the inconsistency was frustrating. I respect the management and the food is good, but customer service is a big part of the experience. I hope management provides better customer service training and hires staff who can communicate professionally with customers. read more

I didn't pay much attention to the ambiance since I ordered takeout, but I do recall that it was casual. The front counter person, Samantha, was very friendly, and was delightful to interact with. I had the lamb plate: well proportioned relative to the price, with a fair amount of seasoning. I'd definitely come back to try the dine-in experience. Overall, I'd like to try their mansaf next, and compare it to Dish Dash (or Dish N Dash in McCarthy). It'll probably be the most similar comparison that I can do. We got two different vegetarian wraps to go: the Lebanese fries wrap and the falafel wrap. To our surprise, the fries wrap was the better of the two, as the garlic aioli and whatever other flavors were added made it tasty. It definitely could have used the coleslaw and pickles promised by the menu but they weren't in evidence. That was the problem with the falafel wrap, too: the menu promised hummus, cabbage & tomatoes salad, and pickled turnips, but those ingredients weren't anywhere to be seen. There was some lettuce instead, but lettuce is a poor substitute as it just becomes immediately soggy and adds no flavor. If you've ever had falafel in Israel, you will be disappointed by the falafel here, unfortunately. (Israeli falafel shops each make at least a dozen toppings from family recipes, so you put as many veggies and sauces in as you can to create a flavor party in your mouth.) read more

I REALLY wanted to love this place. The reviews were great so I put my faith in my fellow Yelpers and we gave it a try. This is a small, casual, "order at the counter" kinda place which was great. Shawarma's are really good size and comes with crispy fries. My daughter got the chicken and my son-in-law got the lamb. My daughter said the lamb had a lot more flavor and she would order that over the chicken if they were to come back. I ordered the Kofta plate which I was not overly impressed with. The beef was flavorful and tasty, but the rice was bland, and the salad that came with it was underdressed and lackluster. We also ordered the garlic spread, which I thought was really tasty and an order of pita, which was warm and fluffy and pretty tasty. The help yourself catsup and hot sauce was nice. The hot sauce was tangy and spicy and perfect for dipping. We went back before we left and ordered some of their Turkish delights to take home. The chocolate was our favorite. The other two that we purchased were just OK. Overall, I was impressed with the customer service but the food lacked anything special to me. It's unlikely I would come back especially because the prices seemed pretty high. For the three of us it was over $120. The plates were large and none of us left hungry however my plate was far from empty because I just didn't care for it. The miss was that nothing tasted memorable except the garlic spread, the hot sauce and the naan. The chicken shawarma and the lamb shawarma were just "ok" in our opinion. Nothing bad but not something we'd drive out of our way to order again and not 5 star worthy. The Kofta Plate was the biggest disappointment. The meat was flavorful but dry. The rice that came with it just didn't have a lot of flavor and felt like just a plate filler. It just wasn't tasty to me nor was the salad. Everything may have been fresh but wasn't something I'd personally order again. In my review, didn't mention the Kebeh that we also ordered which were also pretty dry and crumbly. I discovered Iraklis thanks to a Yelp Elite event, and I'm so glad I did! This Syrian/Lebanese restaurant serves up delicious flavors with warm and friendly service. I ordered the Beef Kofta Kebab, which came with a side of fries (though the fries aren't listed on the menu), while my husband got the Lamb Wrap, which does not include fries. The beef took about 10-15 minutes longer to prepare compared to other meats, but that was totally fine--it was well worth the wait. For an appetizer, we had the Zaatar Manakeesh, which was essentially a pita bread covered in a generous amount of zaatar. Simple yet absolutely delicious! Super friendly workers and owner, fast service, delicious food! Lamb Shawarma was the right amount of lean/fatty meat and marinaded well. Rice was flavorful and soaked with sauce/juices from the meat. Hummus was also good. Hot sauce was sour and had a kick to it for sure. The staff patiently explained the different dessert offerings. I ended up getting their pistachio and honey turkish delight and it was delightful! It was the not-as-sweet option as recommended by the staff, and it was chewy, crunchy, and a nice dessert overall to end my meal. Never had a fresh turkish delight before so it was such a treat! Also tried the turkish cola - I'm not sure if it's much different than normal coca-cola, maybe a little less sweet. I'm not a huge soda person though... thought it was interesting! Iraklis has become one of my go-to spots for Shawarma in the Bay Area. I've been there about 10 times now, and it somehow keeps getting better every single visit. The food is always on point, but the standout for me is the fries. They're fresh cut, made to order, and easily some of the best I've had anywhere. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and that real homemade style you just don't come across often. Service is just as good. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and they treat you like a regular even if it's been a while. It's rare to find a place that stays this consistent and still manages to improve over time. This time they unfortunately were more bland and weren't cooked right. They didn't have that crispy outside you expect for fries. The flatbread was nice and crunch, the chicken was juicy, and it was sliced into fourths, which made it much easier to eat. The portions are big for one meal and can be shared or eaten across two meals. The French fries were seasoned well and crispy! It is served with dark and white meat thinly sliced & marinated in authentic Syrian spices, creamy garlic spread, pickles and a drizzle of pomegranate molasses. The Mansaf was served with a bed of yellow rice, slow cooked lamb shank, and yogurt sauce. The lamb shank itself was a statement piece to the dish - it was massive and had tons of meat! The yellow rice was cooked to perfection and the yogurt sauce was creamy. Ambiance Bright lights with several tables to dine both inside and outside. There's large menu screens to view what's available to order, a large display case with a variety of desserts, an area to grab utensils and plate-ware to go. There's cute decor on the walls that makes the dining area cozy. Location / Parking It is located at the end of a strip plaza next door to an Indian restaurant. There's plenty of parking even during peak hours. Customer Service I was warmly greeted by the staff. Elias, the owner, was such a joy to speak to. I could tell how passionate he is about Iraklis, the staff, customers, and menu offerings. He was interacting with customers, helping with restocking drinks, and took the time to converse with me! Vegetarian reviewer: This restaurant is a little Mediterranean gem conveniently located in the same complex as Indian grocery store, Patel Brothers, which makes it perfect for a quick stop after shopping. The staff is very welcoming and the ambience is tastefully created with simple yet elegant decor. Here are some of the things I have tried so far- 1. falafel wrap - it was delicious! Flavorful and juicy and filling. You don't need no hot sauce or tahini on the side. 2. Fries, and it was fresh and a little oily for my liking(no problem, they have napkins :)). I would recommend letting them know to make it well done if you like, how I like it :) 3. Zaatar bread - omg! This one was so tasty! I would 100% recommend it. It wasn't too salty - so I added some salt and pepper to make it to my liking and it was awesome. Well if you like it crispy or maybe a little more done than done a soft bread, let them know coz I am gonna ask for it next time :) I am coming back definitely to try their falafel plate, desserts and Mango lassi next time when I am in the area! Service is quick and the restaurant is neat and clean. Restroom is spacious and well maintained too. Loads of parking available in the lot and it shouldn't be too difficult to find parking during busy hours as well. read more
