I stopped in this afternoon on a whim, noticing this shop on my list of places I want to try. I wasn't super hungry, as I'd had a fairly late breakfast, so I was delighted to see that they offer a mini version of their chicken shawarma. Perfect! I took no pictures because I was eating in the car and just dove in, but it was well-wrapped for the journey. I was kicking myself after leaving for not remembering to ask for no onion, only to discover that, thankfully, they didn't put raw onion on it! I was delighted, and this may be the best chicken shawarma I've ever had. The meat was flavorful and plentiful for a small order, and to my utter joy there were strips of pickle tucked in with the meat! It was such a delicious mouthful that I was really wishing I'd gotten the full size after all! It's better that I didn't, and now I can't wait to go back again and try more things, like the shawarma fries! Parking can be difficult so be prepared to hunt and maybe walk a bit. Was looking for a place I hadn't been to try out and my son found Shawarmaji which had great reviews. Big fan of shawarma, so gave it a go. First off, parking is a pain, but not unusual for places in this area. And the place, it's sort of a hole in the wall. As a general fan of holes in the wall, didn't bother me, but if you need a place to be spotless and comfortable, maybe not for you. 3 of us, so got the chicken wrap, lamb/beef wrap and lamb/beef arabi style. The best thing was the fries. Perfectly fried and seasoned. The wraps were good. The chicken had a ton of cinnamon, where even my son who loves it was saying, "that's a lot of cinnamon". The lamb/beef was good. Both wraps were big, well built, had great meat to veg to sauce ratio throughout and did not come across too dry like other places. Ask for the spicy sauce. The drinks were interesting. My wife got one of the Freez drinks, which she said was ok. I got a Vimto which had artificial sweeteners in it, which I hate. Serves me right for having a "when in Rome" attitude and not reading the can. Overall, it was good, but would I drive over to go again, probably not. To me, it didn't live up to the hype (3.5 stars and I rounded up), and didn't really set itself apart from other places that are a little cheaper, or more expensive places that are a little better. read more

When I first discovered Shawarmaji, I was ride or die. As of late, I think it's just ok. It is good for when you're in a pinch and need to satisfy the craving for shawarma. The beef and lamb arabi style wrap portion is pretty big. I got seasoned fries for the side and we were given a lot. I'm a big fan of the double fried fries or the so-called psoriasis fries. There was a good balance of crispy and mushy fries. Tastes really good with the toum and the tahini sauce. The wrap is a bit dry but the flavors are still good. I think I do prefer the chicken over the beef/lamb mainly for the tahini sauce. The service is kind of just ok. I didn't know you were supposed to grab the sides from the fridge and they didn't tell me until I had to go back and ask. The whole interaction just felt a bit awkward but I'm sure they were also just tired. The place could be a bit tidier and cleaner. There's also no public restroom for those wondering but they have hand sanitizer stations set up which is nice. Parking is not too difficult but I haven't been when it's peak hours. read more

And Shawarmaji has been just that. Everything is so perfect and so flavorful. The portions are great (wraps are huge and a mini can easily fulfill me). The chicken shawarma fries are to die for. Food never takes too long no matter how busy it is. Decor is great to peruse at while waiting for the food and there is ample seating to enjoy your food once you get it. Parking can be tough, especially on the weekends, but there are surrounding streets where you can snag a spot for free (as long as you're willing to look). I ordered online from here through a third party delivery app and everything was packed perfectly. I chose the Arbi chicken 12 inch wrap with extra meat that came with pickles on the side, extra toum and tahini salad. I should have gone with the fries on the side but maybe next time. I requested the wrap to be cut in half but my request wasn't honored and it was sliced into pieces. The filling was falling off on every bite which is why I requested the wrap to be cut in half. The chicken was scanty tbh. Not a lot of chicken even after paying for extra meat but the wrap was delicious. The pickles were my most favorite accompaniment with the wrap. The toum was garlicky and delicious! The tahini salad is cucumbers and tomatoes chopped up and mixed with tahini. I wish I had ordered a different side. We loved the fries (5/5) and the shawarma (forearm length) (3.5 stars) scratched the itch however it came out just warm. especially in the middle it started to get more lukewarm. If you do stop by for lunch, I recommend arriving with some times to spare as this place can get quite busy. That said, there's always seating and I recommend eating your food while it's still fresh. The thing about shawarmaji is that it's simple but everything is perfect. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned in all of their items. Went with the lamb/beef wrap, beef shawarma fries, and three Freez Mix carbonated beverages. The lamb/beef wrap was disappointing since the protein itself was dry. The beef on the shawarma fries was also dry, but I enjoyed the fries themselves, which were nicely cooked with a good texture. The pomegranate, lychee and apple and grape drinks were okay and tasted like standard fruit sodas. Horrible if I'm gonna be quite honest with you , the price and value of the food doesn't justify the platters / wraps due to lack of quality and love imbued into the dishes . Sadly looks a lot better than it tastes . Falafels and tahini were the only saving grace in my opinion , chicken was overtly dry and under seasoned. The wraps had little to no filling , and the French fries were extremely limp and cold upon arrival. This was a place I spent 85 plus dollars on and the amount of food was a pity, in addition to this location not being easy to park and get food from this was a pure waste of time and I've gone to places where wraps aren't the specialty and they don't show off in your face about their food and those places are 100x better, I'm not a harsh dude but this place won't be receiving my business again . I visited Shawarmaji yesterday and it was SO good. I ordered the full-size chicken shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma fries. First off, the full-size wrap is huge, definitely enough to fill you up, and it tasted amazing. The chicken was super juicy and packed with flavor. I loved the garlic sauce and pickles inside the wrap, and I even got extra garlic sauce on the side because it was that good. The chicken shawarma fries were also delicious. They load them up with a generous amount of chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce layered over the fries, so every bite has tons of flavor. I came back again late on a Thursday night. I ordered mostly the same stuff, but this time I actually got the side of pickles and two desserts. I was able to see the interior this and it's a pretty cozy place to grab a bite. There were a decent amount of people eating there. The pickles were REALLY good. Nice strong vinegar taste and super crunchy. They really elevated the wraps in my opinion. I liked that there was a nice variety and I think I'd come back just for these lol. When I picked up the food, I decided to buy both of the desserts. The rice pudding is on the drier side, which is different to me, but I still really enjoyed it. It's also not overly street, has a light floral taste, and paired nicely with the pistachios. The layali ammani was okay to me, but I think it's because it had a strong flavor I was not used to. Genuinely disappointed with myself for not having tried Shawarmaji sooner. The chicken wrap is just perfection. I almost got the mini but I'm so glad I treated myself to the regular size. The staff is friendly right when you walk in and they recommended the chicken. No notes at all. The chicken is cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and juicy. I love the structure of the wrap, crisp outside + it being thin and long makes it easy to eat and ensures you get all the flavors and textures in each bite. Slightly sweet, savory, and spicy. The outside of the store is a little unassuming but they have a decent amount of street parking nearby & a good amount of seating indoors. My first time coming here, it looks busy so I get to the front - again F I R S T T I M E. Cool assortment of drinks, no menu until you get to the cashier. I'm browsing the menu and this big guy comes up and I start with a falafel and I ask what comes with the pita and he answers super snarky "well same as the sandwich, it would be pretty weird if it didn't" ok? Sorry I wasn't aware I had to know the menu inside and out before ever coming here. Mind you the menu just says falafel on top and pita as one of the options, doesn't say anything about it being inside the pita or anything. Falafel wrap, panini option: I thought it was pretty good, minus that I didn't like the lemon inside since I thought the lemon was overpowering and unpleasant. The pickles and tomatoes made it more sour. Falafel wrap, with pomegranate molasses added, and removing lemon: I liked it much better when I came back a second time and made these modifications, as it resulted in more of a sweet and sour flavor profile. The molasses are definitely quite sweet. 8 falafels by the piece: They're crispy on outside and softer inside. If you eat the sauce first, though, in my opinion, it really drowns out the falafel flavor. I opted for extra garlic sauce (toum), that and the tahini were really good. They gave me 2 extra falafels which was kind of them. Rose tamarind drink: It's very sour, can't really make out the rose in my opinion. The cup was smaller than I expected, but compostable. They had two outdoor tables but one is very close to the door, and no bathroom offered at the time that I went. Parking was for up to 1 hour up through 6pm, but 2 hrs is allowed after 6pm. My order didn't come with utensils by default so I went in go get some. Overall I would say the food is quite good and their spices are excellent. We gotta be honest here.. Visited Santa Clara from out of town and decided to try this place. Service: 2/5 - zero eye contact/smile/hello.. or do you have any questions about the menu. Nothing. Very short and uninterested. Ambiance: 2/5 - feels like a grocery store.. it's also not well lit.. Food: 3/5 - let's start with the fact that I didn't get my entire order. Well I didn't get the side that came with my order. So the chicken shawarma Arabic style wrap. Well.. chicken flavor wasn't too bad to be fair, but the pickles seemed old, and the wrap in general looked a bit sad and lacked some more flavors. The only thing I don't like is the parking situation in this area. Super stressful and you get boxed in by the delivery drivers. Really disappointed with their recent customer service. It's left a really bad taste in my mouth and I'm good off spending money there from now on. My friend came in to place a pick up order and it was 11:40am, waited about 25 minutes with other peoples orders being called out and given to them, and then he went up to ask where his order was and then Muska was like "OMG I forgot to print your order out". No apology. The order came out, she didn't offer any extra sauces like how she was offering everyone else, and it had no utensils or napkins. We ordered a chicken shawarma and were surprised that there was a large selection of sauces. I don't normally encounter that at shawarma places. He gave us a variety of sauces including different spicy sauces since we mentioned we love spicy food. I was really excited to try it! Once we got back, we got to eat our meal and it was really good! I loved all the sauces that they provided us. They had varying levels of spice and had wonderful flavors. I had so much fun trying out the different sauces and combinations. From the shawarma and falafels to the fries and all the wonderful sides, everything is jam packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and served up in portions that will leave you full. Favorites here are the Chicken wrap served arabi style - so you can enjoy the pickles, fries with toum, and the falafels. I've gotten both the toum and the tahini from their grab and go fridge to enjoy at home, sadly they don't sell the tahini like that anymore, it seriously was/is the best tahini I've ever had. Service is always very warm and friendly. This spot is pretty casual but they do a good job of bringing the Jordanian culture in with loads of pictures on the wall. They have a handful of tables and some high top bar/ledge seating. Stopped by on a sunny Saturday for a shawarma side take out order. Parking is miserable. I almost gave up...not sure how to give advice or guidance here other than just be patient. Flavors and spices were on point, but the chicken had a bunch of little tiny pieces or crispy pieces and I would have preferred a cleaner, even (juicier) shave. Toum is 5/5. I also asked for tahini but was disappointed that it was literally plain tahini flavor (some lemon and garlic would be a nice touch. I found the inside to be good for a quick bite but not for conversation- it was loud. High ceilings and concrete floors may have been messing with the acoustics. Delicious shawarma spot next to Santa Clara University! Shawarmaji serves delicious wraps and Jordanian food. I got their Chicken Shawarma Wrap which was tasty. It comes in a generous portion size and the wrap was crispy on the outside, while filled with a flavorful mix of chicken, pickles, and garlic sauce on the inside. The 2 toum sauces they give on the side are also so delicious and definitely elevated the wrap even more. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and seems like a chill spot to eat solo or with friends.
