We had such a great experience at Ketch Seafood Bar & Grill! We were greeted and seated by the general manager, who took the time to show us the specials board and explain the fresh, locally sourced sides--including produce from a local farmer. We ordered raw oysters, fish and chips, chicken tenders, and fresh-sliced tomatoes. Everything was fantastic, and the service was excellent from start to finish. You can really tell they care about both the food and the experience. I completely forgot to take pictures of our food because we were too busy enjoying it! Ketch is definitely a new go-to for us when we're visiting UK's campus, which is just a short drive away. We'll absolutely be back! read more

Packed Friday night crowd for a restaurant that's been open about 40 years. Good signs so far. Quickly seated although thought there was going to be a 15 minute wait, which would have been fine. Multiple specials from drinks to appetizers, dinners, and desserts. Atmosphere was quite loud due to the acoustics and everything is hard surfaces. Including chairs. I like a comfortable chair instead of the 'we're going to make it so hard you won't out stay your welcome'. Service was very good and prices equally reasonable especially for the amount of food served. We weren't starving, but had a full to-go box between our two meals. The food was in the average category even though everything was well prepared and presented. (Hot/fresh). Just not a lot of flavor. Hush puppies decent but not much taste. Coconut fried shrimp about the same. Had to use the dipping sauce for flavor. Fries are fries. Cheese grits not very tasty and were bland sprinkled with a little cheese. Thicker than mortar! Key lime pie was excellent despite I'm not sure if they used key limes. Appears homemade with some actual zest on top. Although not 'limey' enough, good crust and custard base. Atmosphere-3. Food-3. Service-4. Value-4. I'd go back and probably try less fried food. Could be they haven't changed the oil frequently enough. read more

I'm soooo disappointed that they quit serving the Cornbread Salad because no one ordered it. I thought that it was amazing! Anyway, I tried the fried catfish and it was very good. The hush puppies were extremely good and my wife ordered the blackened white fish which may have been the best of everything. We were very happy with all of our choices. read more

This is a cool, rustic place that feels like an Oceanside bar and restaurant. Clean and well managed with friendly staff. Everything we ordered was delicious and well prepared including Oysters Rockefeller, Cajun chicken pasta, fish and chips, and steamed crab legs. The sides were just as delicious. The remodeled Ketch was my choice for my birthday dinner this year and we were both pleased. I started with a mimosa since we arrived during brunch hours, and Hubby had his usual unsweetened tea with "lots of lemon." Sandi was our server and she did a great job, even bringing enough lemon slices for Hubby's tea that I swiped one for my water! I enjoyed the shrimp and grits with coleslaw while Hubby had a Caesar salad and the Cajun pasta with shrimp. We further celebrated by splitting a piece of key lime pie. Five stars all around!!! I stumbled on this spot when we were in Lexington for a day. Easy parking, friendly staff, and also clean restrooms. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. Our party started with the potato skins, which was perfect serving size. Four people, four pieces. We also had the catfish, the fish and chips, and coconut shrimp. The shrimp and grits were very good but I do wish there was less gravy/broth and more grits. But plentiful on the shrimp, so I'd definitely order again. The unexpected start of the show was the key lime pie. Not too sweet, not too tart, it was just perfect. Can't wait to come back! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch. We were greeted cheerfully and told to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table and our server, the same young lady who greeted us, took our drink order and presented menus. Drinks were promptly delivered and we were asked if we had any questions about the menu. I asked about the size of a salad and she answered honestly without delay. I ordered the salad and an order of spicy edamame with the suggestions from our server. My mom ordered the white fish platter. She raved about how good it was. My spicy edamame was fantastic as well as the salad. I asked about the spice that was used on the edamame, not only did she ask the chef, she brought me some to take home. The place is really cute. Stuffed fish on the walls and lots of seaside styled items scattered around. We will definitely have to go back, to work our way through the menu. read more

This was a little place. I looked up via ChatGPT!! this place had the best oysters!! I would definitely compare it to oysters. We've had in Florida fresh cold, clean, delicious and a fair price, homemade cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce for the fish and chips, which was also delicious. We ordered two old-fashions- small, poor but very very tasty and plenty of Brandy!! tried fried okra was also very good!! we also ordered homemade clam chowder soup, which was a five out of five I've never had more clams in a soup outside of Florida either!! couldn't pass up the order of shooters again spectacular!! next time we will save room for the Keylime pie- highly recommend this place a local joint and not crowded read more

So I've been craving oysters and been searching for a place that makes chargrilled style like a New Orleans restaurant. If this is what you're coming for, this isn't the restaurant for you. The grilled oysters were predominantly cheese and not at all what I was hoping. I also tried the hush puppies though which were delicious. So I'm sure if you don't have a specific reason you want to visit, this would be a good place for seafood. The service was also great and environment really cute. Lunch today as our first visit since they reopened. We like the open and airy space and everything appeared spotless. We had blackened catfish sandwich, fried shrimp, fries & gumbo. The gumbo was terrific. Shrimp was good; Catfish sandwich was ok, but a bit more spice would have helped. Glad they're back! read more

Was able to ketch them this evening. They are in their soft opening phase and doing a number of events but if you want to be some of the first, you can usually catch them Monday through Friday 6 PM until 9 PM. They are doing a three course menu, which was excellent. Don't forget the dessert... The Keylime pie was spot on. Our Ollie group ate at the Ketch today. There were 31 women and one brave husband. our waitress was Alyson. She was great and a shout out to the kitchen. Everything was wonderful, alyson was very organized when taking orders. You could tell she was a very experienced waitress. our group is talkative and we just enjoyed being together. The manager was in communication with me the tables were set up when we got there. It was a wonderful experience and we really appreciate the time and effort that the waitress and the cooks put into it thank you. Many people had not been to the Ketch since it was remodelled and said nothing but nice things about the new decor. read more

Went with some friends who wanted to try The Ketch after remodeling. Drink prices are great. No happy hour on starters. I had the fish and chips- no chips just pick 2 sides. I got the fries and coleslaw. The fish was rubbery and the coating had no flavor. Fries were soggy and the coleslaw had no taste. My one friend got the salad with chicken and got the house dressing that looked more like silly puddy, it was thick and had a weird consistency. The taste was interesting. We would not get that again. My other friend got the fish fingers or fish bites. She also said the food had no flavor. They tasted my food as well and agreed, no taste. Do not get the fish bites or fingers. Do not get the fish and chips, slaw. Frys will probably be ok to try again maybe a bad batch this night. Need to have salt and pepper on the tables along with hot sauce. Need to expand menu not a lot to choose from. Service was wonderful. Great server. I probably will not go back for a long time. Still in there soft open mode but getting closer to full opening. The menu is growing and they are adding tremendous items. We were there on Thursday and an employee told us they had received in a huge Tuna and swordfish, both less than 24 hours from caught to restaurant. They cut the steaks needed and used the rest creatively to make swordfish cakes (better than salmon or crab, they were amazing), and a tuna appetizer from a sushi roll that was overflowing with fresh salmon. The ladies next to us raved about it. I'm in love with the painkiller drink. My husband said that the first time we were there, we went to see friends, next time, we are going strictly for the food.
