We wandered by here the night before and thought we should come back for our morning coffee, and yes so glad we did! Great decor, ambiance with pops of cheery yellow, good food, and flavorful lattes They have a good variety of food options with a Indian touch, nice tea selection, and coffee / espresso drinks too. I had the cardamom latte, and it was delicious! I was pleasantly impressed with the taste of the food. It was a great start to our day of exploring. It would be a nice spot to get some work done with free Wi-Fi and great seating options. I would highly recommend this place, and I would not hesitate to come back! read more

This is a charming little coffee shop right in downtown Charlottetown. We were passing by in the morning, so we decided to stop in to check it out. They serve lots of different types of coffee drinks, and the drinks we ordered were pretty good. They're also good about non-dairy options. Staff are friendly, prices are pretty reasonable. If you're a tourist, this is where you come for good coffee. If you're a local, this is where you come. There's not much left to say that hasn't already been said in other reviews. If you like strong coffee, this is the place to get it along with other cafe-type food. You can't miss this place with its cute yellow exterior but make sure to grab a parking spot wherever you can find. You may need to walk a block or two as the town does get busy. Fifty cents gets you about 20 minutes worth of parking and meter maids come around frequently. If you don't want to deal with cash, you can download the 'Hot Spot' parking app to pay with your phone. This is a typical coffee shop on main street Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They only have two tables outside but many tables inside so we were lucky to be able to get a table outside to be sure to sit in the nice weather right on main street! My grandma got a regular coffee with milk and I got a bottle of pop because it was made from the east coast distillery and the kind was blueberry cream soda! It was really good! No commercial soft drinks like cola, but lightly flavored drinks are on offer along with bottled water. You place your order at the counter and it is brought to your seat. Pretty rough start to the morning, when you go for breakfast and they don't even have coffee ready. We waited 10 minutes for drip coffee... Kinda weird for a coffee shop. Would have liked to say at that point that shit happens; maybe they had an unexpected group of 30 people arrive before us who drank them out of coffee. But we ordered breakfast (the hash & burrito) and they were out of eggs, and out of burritos! What's going on here? Anyway, to their credit, they found eggs quickly and we had our breakfast within 15 minutes. But I can't even tell you how awful that burrito was... There's not one redeeming thing to say about it. Just steer clear. The hash wasn't bad, and according to the cashier it's the best thing on their menu. Not a good sign. But hey! The coffee was excellent! That's what's important, I think! Drip coffee was amazing, Flat White was perfect. So the moral of the story is: come here for the coffee, NOT for breakfast. read more

We're from California and, admitably, we are pooled when if comes to coffee. That said, I was pleased that they offered dark roast, which I prefer, and it was good. My wife enjoyed her cappuccino. You could have a complete meal there, but we just came in for coffee. My wife had a lemon bar, which was chewy and tasted like it had been in the case for a couple of days. We don't have many nice cafes here in Charlottetown where you can sit and enjoy your coffee/tea in a comfy environment or work while you're having your lunch. Kettle Black is one of the few and I can say it is one of my favourites. They have good options for food that you can pair with your coffee/tea, like sandwiches, samosas, deserts... They have friendly staff and are also open until 10 pm, which is rare around here. read more

Stopped in for breakfast while on a day trip through Charlottetown. Lovely vibe and ambience. The selection in coffee roast was a big plus. The counter staff was very friendly and helped really narrow down my choice of breakfast. I chose The Essential Sammy. It was decent. Filling. But I was thrown off by the iceberg lettuce when it was advertised as "greens" not what I expected. My partner got the California Toast. It was meh. Definitely not as described as it was supposed to have arugula and that was replaced with again, iceberg lettuce. This really dampened the experience for me but he insisted it was "still tasty". I feel like there were some very obvious cost cutting measures in their meals, but that being said, not an expensive bill either. Overall the coffee was great, the vibe was fun and I would be back, just not necessarily for food. read more

I always enjoyed going here for breakfast or lunch. But this latest trip was a dissappointment. They either got a new chef or are cutting corners to save on cost. Their Rancheros and Breakfast Hash was alway top notch. Now instead of fresh sliced avacado they have pureed avacado (if I had to guess, bought in bulk from a jar to save on spoliage). The potatoes are now deepfried instead of roasted/panfryed. And a dry pita thrown at the bottom of it all. The dishes lack of freshness and flavour and are a let down compared to what they use to be. If they keep this new way of preparing their dishes up I can see people moving away from here as a place that used to have fresh food. Maybe this was a one off? But as a frequent visitor to here, it's a big drop in quality. :( read more
