As soon as the beer came we asked how much and the guy said $32, but don't worry, we'll be around for another round so he didn't take our money yet. We were served 4 half full mini beers, the other half was foam. We were pissed. After a bit the server came back and sat with us asking where we were from. We told him here in the city and things changed a bit. He offered us food and more beer, made small chat and left. We pulled a $20 out knowing that was more than enough and he immediately gave us $4 back without questioning the $16 versus $32.

We were looking for a dive and we found it: small and dark, festooned with graffiti and stickers, and there was indeed punk rock playing--perfect. We bellied up to the bar and my eyes went right to the frozen margarita machine--yes, please. It was heaven on a 95+ degree day. The hubby got a beer and bourbon. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!
