I left a review here 8 years ago, and after coming for over 17 years, I still stand by every word. I watched the Giants' last two Super Bowl championships at the bar--(and it was amazing) 12 hours of pure excitement--and this place hasn't changed a bit in all the right ways. They've built a culture of originality, acceptance, fun, and trust. From the legit best bouncers in the biz to the amazing bartenders, the food, and the music, everything here is on point. The staff's fun attitudes and genuine vibes make it a place you want to keep coming back to. Honestly, we don't need to go out, but the team makes it worth it every time! As long as I'm able, I'll be at GR on Sundays getting wild for the Giants with DQ, Larry, Stew, Danny, Brandon, Kir, Photi, Kyle, HJ, and the rest of the crew. (Apologies if I missed anyone--this roster goes deep for years !) A huge shoutout to Pat, Danny, Brandon, and the ownership team for supporting our charity efforts over the years. You run an incredible show. Let's go, Giants!

This was actually my first time eating at Green Rock. Usually I'm stumbling around here in the wee hours of the morning while they throw hundreds of napkins in the air, jammed inside like a sardine lol my friends and I settled on Green Rock for happy hour on a Thursday evening. Really legit happy hour surprisingly! Who could argue with 3 dollar seltzers? We ordered nachos, the pretzel, and buff chicken dip. It was all solid, typical bar food. The pretzel was the stand out. One of the best I've ever had in Hoboken. I was shocked! I would definitely come back here for a little weeknight happy hour.

    $3 drafts & empanadas - TRIVIA night

Clean welcoming environment with an eclectic historical front entrance. On tuesdays they feature $3 drafts and empanadas ALL DAY with trivia starting at 8PM by TriviaAD! (Kelly & David were fantastic for FRIENDS night!) Jeff behind the bar is a delight and the food is scrumptulescent! The empanadas are light, flakey and flavorful and are served with sauce pairing. My personal favorite is the Cheesesteak! Lastly the fries are hand cut, crisped to perfection and served with an INCREDIBLE BUFFALO aioli! Highly recommend!!

During the weekdays between 5 and 8 pm, there are amazing deals at this amazing restaurant. Happy hours, 1$ beers, free diet cokes, and many more such offers. I am glad I stumbled upon it during an evening stroll. On top of that, there was a trivia game based on the famous television sitcom "The Office". The crowd was having a great time and the vibe was positive. In terms of food, which is the primary reflection of a restaurant, we ordered a few things, but the fries and nachos that we ordered were delicious. Over all, it was a wonderful evening. It's an ideal place to celebrate all kinds of special occasions. There are only two things that can be improved upon: the serving time and the comfort of the sitting areas. I am sure it is going to become one of my favorite places since the place is spacious, the staff is friendly, and they offer great deals during happy hour.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for my friend's turkey hunt and this bar was really fun! Very upbeat and dancy music for an afternoon too. There were still some sports games being played in the background but it was not a quiet sports bar at all. I tried the buffalo chicken empanadas and they were so good. I heard they have deals on Tuesday too, so I am definitely going to go back for another empanada. The vibe inside is very casual and laid back. Also, there are hooks in the bar to hang your coat! It's not that big of a bar though (pretty small space). I got an allagash white (so hard to find on tap at most bars) and they have white claws too. The drink selection is good and the empanadas made my day. Can't wait to come back here again for a great time!

Green Rock has been on my list of places to check out in Hoboken ever since my BF told me that they had BOGO burgers on Wednesdays nights (starting at 8pm). We showed up at around 8:30 and the place was pretty empty, despite the burger special and the live music that was going on. I had the California Burger (mayo, avocado, bacon, american cheese). I ordered it medium-rare, and that's exactly how it came out. That's usually hit or miss at a lot of burger places but Green Rock got it right. I subtracted a star because the only option for buns was an English muffin (which I'm not a huge fan of), and the fries were meh. Still, BOGO is a great deal and I'll definitely be back on another Wednesdays. They have great specials on other days, which I'll be sure to check out as well.

I have always been a huge fan of Red Rock in Red Bank, so I thought it was about time I gave Green Rock a try. The atmosphere was very laid back and the staff was super friendly. A friend and I split the nachos and buffalo chicken dip. We found the nacho chips to taste a little stale, and the whole thing was hard to eat. The buffalo chicken dip was very good and the waitress was nice enough to replace our nachos with a second buffalo chicken dip order! The ahi tuna salad was amazing. It had such a great flavor combination.

Awesome burger! I had the buffalo aoili burger with blue cheese crumble. The burger was just enough, plus good happy hour specials until 7. So far I have had 2 burgers from here and both are delicious.

Spinach dip. A lot of tortillas and bread and veggies for a small amount of dip.

Bartenders not nice. They were just sitting on their phones and giving dirty looks. Also constantly hitting vape behind the bar.

It was however to loud where you can barely hear/understand the waiters or the ppl in your party that youre talking to. Cool vibes but the food fell short. I ordered the soul loving and the only thing good was the yams, the mac n cheese was okay. I didnt like the collard greens. The chicken look like it was Bam Bams bat from the flintstones aka steroid chicken; it was so friggin big & lacked seasoning/flavor. I also ordered the yum yum shrimp w the sauce on the side in case it was to spicy. I ate a few shrimp w/o the sauce & it was not good imo. I left more than 1/2 my food on my plate. Both my friends had the rasta pasta - 1 w shrimp 1 w chicken. My friend w the chicken picked her chicken out stating it tasted funny & the pasta was better w/o it. She also got fish tacos which she did not like them either. The drinks were good. We only had the montana, margarita & rum punch. I'd return mainly for the music & drinks. The waitress asked if we wanted to go bags & I said no immediately & my face said it all. She was like you didnt like it. Im like nah its a no for me. She brought me a drink since i wasnt happy. As I sat waiting for the waiter to come and take the order, I couldn't help but think about the tv show and the similarities from the show. The service was ok but the food was better. I enjoyed an amazing pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top. The BBQ sauce from the pulled pork was perfect. I had a side of fries and a few bears. My friend had a burger that he reports was good as well. Unfortunately, the waiter in the end botched the bill and made us late for our show. I was not pleased with that outcome but I did enjoy the food and music. From what I can tell, it seems like a happening place. I believe there may be a lounge upstairs but I'd have to return to confirm that. That said, I will be back and I recommend that you give them a try.
