Continued 5 STAR LOVE AND ADMIRATION for Kind Cup coffee shop and its very cool, eclectic collection of handmade jewelry, home decor, art pieces and clothing housed inside (you would never guess all that's inside the shop unless you ventured in!). Kind Cup, first and foremost, is an indie coffee spot that has amazing (strong, not wimpy weak) coffee and latte drinks, a (usually well stocked) display case of baked goods (get there early in the busy season else the pickin's will be slim!). This time, I had the butter cake and it was delicious and complimented my flavored latte brilliantly. Staff is always friendly and amazing! Don't be in a huge rush when you go there and be sure to head out back - there's a beautifully manicured and cared for garden area with some seating and tables sprinkled around the grounds to sit, sip and take it all in - giving faraway feel vibes. I posted a bunch of new pics and vids this visit (including of the garden area) so check them out and see what the inside is like as well as a cool vid of the pretty garden area. I would recommend coming here (when it's not too hot lol) to stroll around the entire Historic Corolla Village. You can truly spend a day here - at least a few hours / half day - just park your car ANYWHERE - plenty of parking in the historic village and just start strolling. Everything is walkable and it's so easy to explore the area. Hit the tiny Corolla Village BBQ shack for great pork bbq sandwiches $10 (top off your sando with their coleslaw yum!), check out the famous Corolla lighthouse and stop in to the lighthouse gift shop, visit the maritime museum, stroll by the beautiful yellow painted Whalehead Club mansion, browse the Island Bookstore, visit the Wildlife Education Center / Museum or just be lazy and bring a chair and a book and camp out on a grassy spot overlooking the sound. The Kind Cup though should be your first stop to grab a latte and a pastry! Can't get much better than that! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Just ate the best muffin I've ever had in my life on the way home from obx. Thanks to The Kind cup! Everything bagel muffin with cream cheese inside- everything bagel spices on top. Perfectly baked. Coffee was on par too. Great stop. Love the interior. Awesome decorations and cool things yo buy in there. I'm not that big of a coffee drinker but my friend got a iced caramel late and she enjoys it enough. A bit expensive but overall great vibes and very nice servers. Coffee was a bit more bitter than expected (not as sweet) but still nice vibes. Theres a beautiful garden right outside too so a great spit to eat and drink and just chill. read more

Came here for some delicious coffee after a fun bachelorette weekend. The shop is very cute and def have plenty of things to look at. The baristas were super nice and helpful with what we were looking for to order. There was some delicious baked goods for display but I decided to only get the coffee - I got their lavender honey coffee and it did not disappoint! The great touch were the chickens who came up to us at the table when we were eating outside. read more

This is the most adorable little coffee shop tucked away on an unsuspecting side street. Part coffee shop, part treasure trove of locally made home goods, jewelry, art, and more. They also serve baked goods and locally made treats here. The coffee shop menu features all the staples, plus some seasonal special options. Service is warm, welcoming and friendly. This is definitely a spot where you'll want to take your time perusing the goods. I could've honestly spent an hour going through all of the jewelry and admiring the artwork. The cutest coffee shop to ever exist. This place feels like you just walked into your latest beach novel. The sweet historic cottage is picturesque with wild flowers outside and local treasures within. The barista was warm and friendly and service was quick! My coffee was ready fast enough that I wished I'd had more time to peruse the artisan-made gifts and pictures. I scooped up some packaged sweets for my kiddos (there were also some baked goods in a case) and I have a 20 oz vanilla latte which was fantastic. Will surely be stopping be again while visiting Corolla. read more

Coffee Shop No. 412 The Kind Cup Corolla, NC September 5, 2024 Is it an art shop? Is it a coffee roasting plant? Is it a cafe? The Kind Cup is all of these and so much more! After my son and I climbed the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and strolled through the Historic Corolla Park I was ready for an energy boost and the joy of another cortado. We walked under the canopy of trees, stopped to watch all the children playing at the chapel/school house and then crossed the street to the heart of the village to The Kind Cup. From across the street the first thing I noticed was the round black sign with white lettering, "Corolla's Coffee Roaster". If a shop roasters their own beans you can almost always guarantee a good cup of coffee; so I definitely had a jovial skip as I walked up to the shop. As I climbed the three steps to the porch a colorful sign caught my attention, "Art and Coffee are good for the soul". I had a good feeling I was about to walk into a gem. The Kind Cup is a brightly lit, well organized, and an inviting space for people to browse through local artists' work; everything from ceramics, to painting, jewelry, stationary and so much more. The bonus was the rich aroma of coffee lingering through the shop. I was in heaven. I spent 45 minutes walking through the shop admiring the artwork and marveling over the talented hands and spirit of the artists. I purchased a few items for family and friends and each of them commented on the positively on their gifts. The three you ladies at the coffee counter shared the magic of souther charm with all the customers. They were polite, engaging, easy to chat to and wore a sweet smile. We talked about coffee and the shop. Then one of the young ladies made a delicious cortado that I took out to their porch, sipped on and watched people walking in and out of the shop. The Kind Cup is definitely a spot you do not want to miss if you are ever visiting the Historic Corolla Village in the northern part of the Outer Banks. We've been coming to the Corolla Village for over a decade, and this place has made it even better! The store is full of treasures that would and have made wonderful mementos of our trips. The beverages are also delicious and greatly enjoyed. My personal favorite is the Corolla Fog. It is sweet and has the perfect amount of lavender flavor. The coffee was enjoyed as well. We went here twice during our weekend in Corolla and loved it both times! Our first morning, we went right after watching the sunrise and there was already ~6-8 people waiting for the store to open up! The inside was super cute, they have so many gorgeous art pieces from local artists - from pottery, paintings, magnets etc. It's a charming and quaint shop inside. I got the salted caramel on my first day - delicious! My friends got the masala chai and the lavender and honey latte. Our favorite by far was the lavender and honey iced latte, it is perfectly sweet and just the right amount of lavender. SO good! Their pastries were also amazing - we got the German butter cake which was SO moist and delicious. Sadly, they didn't have their orange ginger muffin which sounded incredible but the blueberry muffin was equally yum. Can't wait to go back on our next trip to the outer banks! read more

Came here by accident and we weren't disappointed. Shop is small but has a lot of local artists items for sale. No iced coffee, only cold brew, but that's ok! Unfortunately, the coffee here was not great. A cute shop with lots of different pieces of art and collectibles- I had high hopes for my drink because it looked really good. However, the espresso tasted sour and the flavors of the syrup were lackluster and hardly detectable. We got a hazelnut latte and a peppermint bark latte, both of which you'd expect to be slightly sweet, but neither of them were and were honestly just gross. We threw them away soon after. The coffee is overpriced for what it is, and while I understand that beach prices will be high, it was just disappointing. Sorry to say that we will not be back. read more

This is my first time coming to The Kind Cup and I am so upset I haven't been here sooner! I ordered an ice vanilla latte with it milk and it was hands down the best latte I've had. We also ordered a banana chocolate muffin and that was just as good. Highly recommend coming here and I can see why people come here everyday during their stay in Corolla. Glad I found these awesome people towards the beginning of our stay, been long-boarding down to their perfect little shop every day this week. It's beautiful. Me and my girls love iced lattes.. so one stayed traditional w her iced hazelnut latte, another had iced mocha latte w whipped cream, and I tried their iced honey lavender latte .. incredible!! So good we came back on our remaining days and upgraded from a medium to a large! Another nice aspect of this shop is that they also showcase local artists! Absolutely amazing! We stayed in Corolla for a week in July 2023 and came to Kind Cup every morning! The raspberry crumb cake was my favorite bakery item and all the coffee drinks were great! My fiancé really loved the Honeydew (think this was the name of the drink). They also sell local art/jewelry/clothing. Cute area that's only walking distance from a local bookstore. The service is great and the wait wasn't as long as what we usually see in coffee places down in the Kitty Hawk/Kill devil hills area. This is definitely a MUST visit. Come by early and get a coffee and a pastry, check out the bookstore across the street, and then go around the corner to see the Currituck lighthouse and historic Whalehead! read more
