Suuuuuch a cute store!! Was so happy to stumble upon this store. Big fan of Miffy & all the cute trinkets. There's a wide selection of little stuffed animals, stickers, postcards, hair clips, perfume, Baggu, lighters, and other fun knick knacks. Service is fantastic, the workers here are great. I will say, it is quite pricey (for example, $30 hair clips & $25 keychains), so definitely somewhere I'd go to splurge versus anything you really need. Overall, a fun store! read more

Very cute trinket shop (Miffy!!!), but meh customer service. Pretty merchandise, some even made by local artists. Most noticeable thing here though is the prominent Miffy collection. The items are kinda on the pricy side but super adorable lol. Turn off from me from buying anything from the store when the shopkeeper at the time glanced at me with a straight face when I entered the shop and then looked back down at the front counter. No greeting, cold vibes that didn't encourage me to stay and thoroughly browse the shop. read more

We went for the first time today as I've been eyeing the SF Miffy keychain with lanyard and finally purchased it in store today. I love how it's very Miffy oriented because other shops either have a small stock or none of Miffy. It is one the pricier side and being local businesses that create some of these goodies I do totally understand but it's difficult to stay on budget in such a cute shop like this. I purchased 4 things that came out to $45 but the pricey item was the Miffy SF keychain with lanyard, if it wasn't for that the amount would have been less but I'm very happy with my purchase. My daughter loved the store & we were greeted by Mel who was the sweetest person and had no trouble answering questions. She also overheard me when I said I was looking for a specific item and didn't find it in the store (social anxiety gets the best of me so sometimes I won't ask if I'm looking for something) but she was kind enough to go out of her way to check the back. Also what really sold me and encouraged me to purchase was their stance on how they support the immigrant community, being a product of immigrants spending my money in small businesses that support marginalized communities is important to me, especially in this day and age. They also sell cute local art and stationary items, great as gifts or if you're itching for a new trinket. Keep in mind you'll be paying city prices for most items in the store. The small corduroy plushie was about $40~ The shop is in the Inner Sunset so parking is rough. You can try your luck with street parking but better to take public transit. read more

Accidentally found Kira while walking on 9th ave recently and was super excited for the discovery. It had that cutesy feeling I got when visiting stores in Japan or Scandinavia. Kira has a big selection of miffy, but also other well-known characters like Snoopy/peanuts. And beyond that, they have a curated selection of clothes, jewelery, and other accessories. Prices were reasonable given that a lot of these items can't be find in many other places. And the service was just how I like--not overreaching but friendly and helpful when needed. read more

This place is so cute and the person (Hailey) assisting me when I stopped in - couldn't have been more personable. I've stopped into The Kira Shop many times in the past and to be honest their selection of items never really appealed to me. Recently they seem to have overhauled and updated their selection of goods - and while I didn't end up purchasing anything - I did oooo and aaah over their strawberry Baggu cooler bag, their darling and chic baby clothes, their fun San Francisco themed items and their array of fun charming/quirky finds sprinkled throughout this well curated space. The Kira Shop is a fantastic place to pop into if you're looking for a something for a friend, a baby gift, or just a lovely self care present for yourself (they have some cool beauty face masks etc). We were going to have an early supper with friends at a nearby restaurant and wanted to kill a few minutes and walked by this store and I realized it's related to Kira and Muffy in Hawaii! So of course, I went in to check out the store and was looking for a few Kira and Muffy gifts. The staff member indicated that this store is owned by the same owner as the one in Hawaii. I saw my favorite little rabbit that I bought at the Hawaii store. The cutest place to get unique gifts! The service here is incredible, especially as they curate community events like the recent Miffy one this past weekend! I love going to this store often as they change their selection every few weeks so it's always fresh. If you're a big Miffy fan, their store is decked out in her merch! They also have a bunch of other cute stuff to gift your friends: from cute cake- or bread-shaped candles to mochi pancake mix to the most unique accessories! This shop doesn't disappoint, and I always stop by at least once every two weeks. Prices also are really good, and accommodate a range of budgets! For parking in the area, I recommend arriving early (10 AM) or parking in Golden Gate Park (GGP) across the street. Today I went to Kira for the second time. I was looking for a gift for my friend and started looking around. I was with my toddler and he was behaving nicely. The lady then asked me what I was looking for and I told her that I was browsing for a gift and deciding what to get. After this she gave me their business card and told me to check online and to call then and she would reserve what i want. And then she "kicked" us out.. The store wasn't crowded and I was actually looking to spend a nice amount of money, but after being asked to check online and to leave I'll not for sure buy anything else from this store. read more

This store is adorable, and full of really cute items. However, my experience there last weekend was not great. I went with a friend, and we both felt like we were being followed around by the woman working at the store. It didn't feel helpful or friendly, but like we were being watched to make sure we weren't shoplifting. The final straw was when we were looking at some items in a display basket. My friend was thinking of buying four of them for gifts. I put in an online order, but when it shipped it never started tracking the team not only checked with the post office, they got another order ready immediately, and even held on shipping it so it wouldn't arrive until after I was back from vacation.
