This place was truly a great experience! My first time boarding my cat and we were a little nervous. Marisa was so helpful

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel for kitties !!! I had to board my two furry babies for the time because of the CZU Lightning Fire I called several time and they were nice and understanding and flexible about what time we could come there. They even offered to open up if they were closed if we had to evacuate quickly! Needless to say I was stressed to the maximum. My cats are 10 and 16 years old. They are both rescues and both crazy in their own ways. Hobbs straight up refused to be in ANY kind of cage or carrier. She tried to eat the steel! So they allowed her freedom to roam. At 16 she's not taking any nonsense from anyone. They were kind gentle and loving with her. She even let them pet her! Only a handful of people in her life have ever been able to do that. Both kitties also talk a lot and Leah would actually talk to them! Kit is a huge 22lb ball log love except he HATES other cats! No easy task in a kitty Hotel. Yet they managed to make him feel comfortable too. These folks are magical. The price is very reasonable for what you get with them. The place is spotless! I owe them for the peace of mind I had knowing my cats were well loved by them. Thank you .

Our 3 cats stayed for 7 nights at The Kitty Hotel. Stress was our biggest concern and our kitties came home relaxed and happy. The women working with the cats are a pleasure to contact and kept us updated throughout the week which was very much appreciated. Pricing is very reasonable. We will be returning to TKH for any future stays.

Ask the Community - The Kitty Hotel

What about Sunday? Do the cats get food and play? I'm a bit nervous that they are all the time in their cages.

There is staff here taking care of the cats on Sundays. The cats get let out of their kennel one at a time once a day.

Are cats left alone by themselves on Sunday?

No. There is someone here on Sundays during the day to take care of the cats. There is no staff present overnight.

What is the cost for a single cat at the kitty motel?

As of June 2025, our rate is 38 dollars per night for one cat. 28 dollars per night for each additional cat.

Will they be staying in a room or cage? Is there a price for a long stay, weekly basis?

The stay in individual kennels and are let out to roam in a room one at a time. Our rate is by night. There is no price difference for longer vs shorter stays.

Can anyone describe what a typical day might look like for the cats? Do they get some time to run around, playtime, etc? Curious if any users have insight into this.

Yes (I'm a user for over 10 yrs). Someone there early morning to late afternoon. Cats are let out to roam 1-by-1, and there is a cat wall & a contained cat area w/window. You can bring your own cat food and play things. This place is cat heaven!

The limited hours freak me out. Are the cats left all day by themselves?

No, not left all day. Owners there early am to late afternoon. Cats are let out to roam, 1-by-1, and there is a cat wall for climbing, and a contained cat room with a window. Please ask the owner to give you a tour.

I'm coming out of the dead to leave this review because I hope it helps someone who is thinking…read moreabout seeking professional training for their dog(s). We are not new dog owners and with our previous dog, we lived the best life - traveling across US and Canada, flying on planes, staying in hotels, dining at Michelin star restaurants, going to work at the office, walking off leash, etc - with zero professional training. He actually was a puppy school drop out! We learned that all dogs are different and with our new pups, we needed help on dealing with behavioral issues like reactivity. Through positive reinforcement, Amy coached us on how to loose leash walk our dogs in heel position. She also showed us how to do "place" work, use spatial pressure and how to get our dogs to focus on us around distractions. We also learned how to turn up our praising game verbally and with treats! Trainings were mainly at Butcher Park which is a very high pressure environment given the amount of dogs at any given time. It really put us to the test and honestly, we were challenged! It's hard work. We had homework after each lesson, but we committed to practicing in between lessons. We weren't perfect but we always showed up ready to learn, and to give and receive feedback each time with the goal of growing and improving. We ended up doing "board and train" for both of our dogs (one at a time) and we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. We needed a jumpstart and Amy gave us the knowledge and tools to set us up for how we want to live our lives with our French bulldogs. She truly loves dogs and wants the best for them and their owners. We highly recommend Amy!

The first year with my golden retriever, Luka, was extremely hard. He was a mouthy dog who had zero boundaries at home or outside. He would get excited or frustrated and grab/bite onto my shoes or clothes daily. Walking him became an impossible task because he was extremely dog-reactive, and he dragged me a couple of times while trying to chase another dog. Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. I can't thank Chelsea and Lori enough for everything they've done. I've learned so much about Luka, how to manage different situations, and how to better understand his behavior. We had training lessons throughout his board-and-train stay and afterward, because we are the ones who need most of the training! Chelsea did an amazing job with Luka. At home, Luka is unrecognizable in the best way. We can actually go on adventures outside without being terrified that we won't be able to handle him. Those who knew Luka before his stay and see him now always comment on how well he is doing. I cannot recommend Lori Hamilton's Dog training enough to anyone who feels like they've tried everything and is feeling discouraged. I am so thankful because it finally feels like Luka and I can start living life and enjoying everything around us.

Our rabbit is very important to us so I set out to find the best possible pet sitter in the area for peace of mind, that was when I stumbled upon Furry Friends Pet sitting. We boarded our beloved senior rabbit (who is a very sassy bun) for 11 days as we had to leave for an overseas trip. Barbara is very great at communication from the first contact all throughout the duration of rabbit boarding. Questions are specific as in which veggies are most preferred, hay preference, vaccine and vet information. They also provided an enclosure with toys and hidey spots so all we had to do was drop our bun off in a carrier. She would send daily videos and photos along with detailed updates (like how she would lounge all day and snack on her hay and list the veggies she was fed). Barbara shows a lot of experience as she has a variety of veggies as well as regularly cleaning out the water bowl and tidying the enclosure. She would also spend time petting and changing up the toys and tunnels as well. Receiving texts on our bun was something I looked forward to during our trip as I would see how relaxed and comfortable she was! If you are looking for an experienced rabbit sitter in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to inquire here! Thank you so much for watching our bun! Photos below are from Barbara's daily updates.

Our boy had been found wondering the streets of SJ. With my wife and I, he was the Biggest love bug. So cute, and funny, and cuddly. But we can only imagine the terrible experiences he had endured. He had a scar atop his head and was very nervous around new people, which led to behavior like growling and snapping at times. His fear was only made worse by social distancing and not being around new people. Once Covid settled a bit we sought out a trainer for him. I'll never forget the first days Dawna and Megan came to the house. Our pup growled and was very displeased that these strangers were in his space, and worse, trying to interact with him. They weren't a bit deterred, which I was impressed by but I remained skeptical. Fast forward something like 2 weeks: Megan was his Absolute best friend. Dawna interacted with him with ease on training days and he loved receiving love and pets from her. We couldn't believe it. He joined the Canine Corral doggy daycare and just blossomed. Regarding my pup contracting Giardia--I already stated in my original review that I understand parasites are common and my puppy was probably more susceptible, so I wasn't placing blame on the facility. Just a warning that these things happen. However I would like to point out that my dog did not go anywhere else besides home and their facility (since theyre insinuating that it could've been contracted elsewhere). Additionally, the fact that Furrtropolis requires a negative fecal test every 6 months is a warning in itself that any dog could be carrying a parasite between that time, so this requirement isn't full proof. This is just the nature of daycares and boarding facilities, and it wasn't the sole reason I decided we wouldn't be returning. 2. Regarding kennel cough--again just spreading the warning of what my dog experienced coming back from the facility. I'm fully aware they don't have control over the health of every dog that enters. 3. Records show that we were in contact, because as I stated in my review, I would have to continously badger the staff in order to get any updates. Yes, responses were prompt but that wasn't the issue. It was getting updates to begin with, without me having to reach out on the 4th day of boarding to ask how things went. I've seen other boarding places have cameras or provide daily updates (on meals, training sessions, nap time, etc)--totally fine if this isn't one of those places and you're a dog parent that doesn't mind. It's just not for me. *I also want to clarify that I directly expressed to the staff multiple times of wanting more communication/updates and it not being met before I came to yelp* 4. This just further proves my point on the poor communication from this facility, the fact that I wasn't made aware my pup might have had a decrease in appetite or activity level is serious alarm bells. Both of those things would indicate to me that something is off since my dog normally has endless energy and a black hole for a stomach. At the very least, a simple update that my dog just finished his additional 1:1 training session/1:1 play session that I paid extra for would've been nice. My dog is the love of my life and I'm sure other pet parents feel the same. It's important for me to share my experiences to provide insight for others and so the business can improve for others.
