We have indoor cats and they never leave the house but we needed to tent the house for termites. I found the positive reviews on yelp very comforting when I made the decision to use The Kitty Hotel. So we packed up out cats, their cat food, a blanket and a bed and left them with the very nice owner for two nights, three days. The problems all started when we returned. The food in the cage was not the stuff we brought. I asked her to give them wet food (it's a special treat for my cats) and the form was marked to give them dry food only. There was almost no litter in the box she provided so the cats peed on their own bed and blanket. She said she didn't have time to clean them so were they wet in their cage for 2-3 days? I now have to pay $40 for a new cat bed. I tried to clean it four times and it still smelled like urine. She didn't offer us a discount for the urine soaked items. The reason why I'm not giving it 1 star is because the place was VERY clean. If your cats are used to boarding this might be the place but I wouldn't bring my indoor cats back. read more

We left our three cats with the kitty hotel while we were away on a month-long trip overseas. I was a mess when I had to drop them off as we had never left them alone longer than a week and this was our first time boarding them. But the staff was very understanding and the owner is a genuine cat lover - this is what they specialize in! We had checked out so many places that just left your cat in a little crate, feeding it once a day. At the Kitty Hotel they actually let your cats out to play and socialize with them. They were especially accomodating as they were able to rotate our 3 cats so that one would be alone and two would be together each day, so that one was never alone for a long period of time. When we left, our cats were crying and devestated that we were 'torturing' them - when they were back at home upon our return, they acted like they had the greatest time and weren't ready to murder us in our sleep. Our super shy cat was even more chatty and wandering the house more than usual. We will definitely take our cats back there if we have to leave them alone for an extended period of time. Also in regards to Kitty Hotel hours - they are on a weird schedule, but they will give you all of the details when you call them. The hardest part was that they weren't open on Sundays or Holiday's, so we just had to work out having a friend pick them up for us on a Saturday (since we came back on Labor Day). But it was pretty straightforward, you just may need to be a little flexible with your schedule. read more

Last minute trip. We recently got a kitten, family members are kind of far, so we found The Kitty Hotel on Yelp and saw the awesome reviews. The place is really clean, I mean really clean and Tami is a very nice and accomodating lady. It's the first time we boarded our kitten and I think it worked out fine. I'm not giving 5 stars because even though we brought his special dry food for kittens when we picked him up we saw that in his cage there was another type of dry food. Honestly we were in a hurry and we didn't mention it but we are kind of noticing that he has some issues eating the same food again...I don't think that's a very negative thing but I mean if we bring his food, there is a reason, especially if we are talking about a kitten. Apart from this I do think it's the place with the most reasonable prices in the Bay Area and Tami does an excellent job keeping this "kitty hotel" impeccable. We will definetely keep this place in mind if needed. read more

I found out about The Kitty Hotel from fellow Yelpers and couldn't be happier!! My partner and I went to England for a week and had to board our two kittehs, Clemente and Ambrosia... they came w/ the names, don't start. Anyway it was very clean, no odor, siblings could have a cage together, and they got released (ha) daily to run around: the store front has an entire window that is committed to kitty comfort, toys, a scratch tree, etc. When we went it was $13 a cat, per night, including food and love. Great rate, considering our vet wanted 22 an animal... I mean we love 'em and all, but seriously... Owner was really cool-- I had to post-date the check (CHECKS ONLY, BTW) by a day and she was totally cool. I may not look forward to leaving my little furry children, but I look forward to leaving them in such great care. :) read more

The staff here is very friendly and their prices are not bad! The do not have a website and their hours are weird and staggered throughout the day so call them before going there because they might not be open during the time frame that you arrive there. The current price per cat is $16.00 a night and this includes food etc. They let the cats out separately in a room to give them a chance to run around and get some exercise while they are there. You must also furnish proof of shots though before they will take your cat for boarding, so bring all of your kitties paperwork! read more

Tami and her services saved my life. I had to board one of my cats unexpectedly, she held him for over a month, let him out plenty to roam, and when I had to put my other two in for a few days as well they all were content and fine when I got them out. She allowed visits, let me sit in a private area with my guy as much as I asked (to be fair I boarded in the off season) and the place was always super clean. I wish I can give this place more than 5 stars! I am so happy to have found the Kitty Hotel and thank you Tami! I had my kitties stay here today July 16, 2012 only for a couple of hours since my place was being looked at. My cats hate being anywhere, but home so I knew they wouldn't like coming here. Plus, my two cats are not used to random people and cats, so I'm sure they were terrified. Tami helped me out since it was my first time here and she is the best: sweet and nice. I'm surprised see is the only person at the kitty hotel and she does a wonderful job. Inside kitty hotel, it is super clean like wow, having so many cats in one place and this place is spotless! Oh and no bad odor. Seriously, that is amazing and I wish I knew her secret. When you walk in, there is "lobby" area where you check-in and out. I saw a cute cat walking around this area. When I went to pick them up, Tami asked if I wanted to go with her in the back room to get my cats and I thought that is great. There is a huge play area for the cats...toys and climbing things. The cats are in another room and the cages are huge even for one cat! My cats were in one corner, hiding behind one another. Tami told me that they stayed like that the whole time. I thought it was adorable, plus I knew they wouldn't be like the other cats there all happy. She is provided food, water and a blanket. The price is 18 per night and I had two cats so it was 36 in total. To me, I think it is worth it even if my cats where there for 4 hours. All the other cats were happy and active. Plus, I want my cats to be in a place of just cats, no other animals. You can reserve online and she will contact you and email you boarding agreement. You need to have proof of shots for each cat. She only takes cash or checks, no credit cards. This place was easy to find - across the street from kitty hotel is a plaza (i think there is a couple of clothing stores and restaurants and close to downtown campbell). There are tons of parking in the front of kitty hotel and more parking when you go straight in the plaza of hotel kitty. I came here on a monday at 9 am to drop them off and the parking lot was empty and when I went to pick them up at 1 it was still empty! Score! read more

The Kitty Hotel is the only place where I will board my cats. Period. I found out about TKH through a friend who has been bringing his cat there for years. He is the definition of a picky cat owner. If it's good with him, then I know I've made a good decision. A year ago, my sister had surgery that included a 3-4 week hospital recovery period. We brought her cat to Tami. He's a special needs kitty and one day, Tami had to take him to the vet. My sister and I were so impressed. My nephew was did well being in a strange place for the duration of my sister's recovery. Plus, we never got a definitive release date for my sister but Tami just went with it. This is more than just a business for Tami. She loves cats and takes very good care of them. Each cat gets let out of their (large) cage to roam around and hang out with Tami. I feel good knowing that my babies are in good hands and don't have to worry about them when I'm on vacation. read more

First off, Helene R., I don't know what you're talking about! My cat, Maneki, is about 18 months old and is a 14-lb. Maine Coon who is the biggest "attention whore" you've ever seen in a cat! We had no choice but to board him for 2 weeks while we were traveling out of state. We chose The Kitty Hotel based on all the great reviews we've read. I've got to tell you that everything we've read is true. Tami Anthony is a wonderful and friendly proprietor who absolutely LOVES cats. Her place is immaculate and there is no odor at all. Each kitty cubby is cleaned regularly and each cat is given time to stretch and walk around on its own. No doubt the staff gave Maneki good lovin' because when I picked him up after being gone for 17 days, he was clearly so relaxed and content; he almost didn't want to leave! I highly recommend The Kitty Hotel to all cat owners in the Bay Area. I am incredibly pleased with the facility and the proprietor. When I walked in, I saw this completely normal looking woman, not a "crazed cat-lady" like I half expected. But the best surprise was the smell of the place, which was..... nothing. Not cats, not urine or poo, not bleach or ammonia or any other cleaner. How she manages with that many cats under one roof is pure mystery. Tami herself is wonderful too. She's fine with check up phone calls, feeding a special diet (I feed raw, so all I had to do was bring it in), and told me all about my cat's stay when I came to pick her up. I was very apprehensive about leaving my fur baby anywhere or with anyone, but Tami really put me at ease. The only negatives are the odd hours and that she doesn't take credit/debit cards, only cash or check. read more

Tami is extremely punctual in getting back to you. My cat, normally traumatized by boarding stays, came back fairly emotionally friendly, which is great by her standards. Two caveats: This place books up quickly, so make arrangements in advance. Also, the lack of weekend hours can make pickup and dropoff difficult. read more

I took our cats here when we had people working on our house. Tammi is the owner. She is very sweet and takes great care of the animals. It's a cat only facility, so no dogs or other animals. Cats must be up to date on all shots. The business is a little hard to find as I got lost the first time. She takes cash or checks only, be prepared. You pay when you pick them up. Pricing is reasonable. It was $17 per night per cat. I will be a repeat customer if ever needed. read more

My cat is definitely a hater and dislikes everyone (even bites me), but seemingly enjoyed her stay at the Kitty Hotel. I would have gladly given you FIVE stars if your hours were a bit more flexible. (M-F: 9 to 12, 1 to 2:30 and 3:30 to 5:00; Sat only 9 to 12 and no Sundays). Your prices are reasonable and your facility is clean. My cat came home emotionally stable, happy and smelled clean. We love the kitty hotel! Unlike a lot of kennels, this one is bright, with large cages and lots of cat toys. The owner is a true cat lover and makes sure to keep the cats entertained during their stay and gives them opportunities to socialize as appropriate. She remembers every cat and has a genuine love for them. There are even some permanent friendly feline residents of the hotel. Prices are competitive to other kennels and although the hours are odd, Tami will go out of her way to accommodate odd pick up or drop off schedules if you will respect her time. read more

Our cat has stayed here twice now and we have found them to be a friendly and reliable place to take her when we are away. The price is reasonable and the staff seem to connect with each of the cats individually. This will be our go-to place to take our baby whenever we are out of town. We have never boarded our cats before, but need to now and I got the name of this place from our regular cat sitter. I looked at the reviews here and their website (which doesn't have much information at all) and decided to call. I spoke with a man who answered the phone and when I asked him "can you tell me about your services?" His response was slightly incredulous "tell you about our services?" Not a good start. He begrudgingly gave me a little information and when I asked a few more questions, it became clear that I was annoying him. The call culminated in him laughing in response to my question about what happens during the time cats are let out of the cage each day. Given the disrespectful/unhelpful attitude of the staff person on the phone, I decided not to board our cats there. read more

Called their number and got a recording saying they are only open 9 to noon or by appointment - no one to speak to about my questions. My cat was not very happy at the beginning and was not very nice to the staff; despite that, Tami and Andrew did a very good job and took good care of my cat. My kitty stayed for a week. She seemed to come back calm and happy. This leads me to believe that she had an enjoyable stay. I feel that Tami is really in tune with cats, and she did a great job at making me feel like my cat would be well taken care of. She answered all of my questions and was really nice. I am very particular about who I trust with my cat, and The Kitty Hotel is the only place I feel completely at ease about leaving my cat, Smokey. They have really helped by accommodating me on short notice (a by-product of my job) and Tami really seems to like what she does, and she obviously loves the cats in her care. The place was very well kept, and the cats had plenty of space and toys to play with. The price was reasonable at $17/night including food. I can't say enough good things about the Kitty Hotel and the owner Tami!!! She took wonderful care of my 16 year old "special needs" kitty when I boarded her for 8 days earlier this month. My kitty got the royal treatment and appeared totally content when I went to pick her up. When we got home, she just had a brief readjustment (hid under the bed for a bit here and there throughout the day) but was otherwise back to normal and clearly not traumatized by her time away from home. I called every day while we were on our trip to check on our kitty, and if the phone wasn't answered, I left a message and got a call back usually within an hour. I am the first to admit that sometimes an old (sometimes smelly) cat might be a bit hard to love on, but it surely seemed like Tami didn't mind that at all and she gave just as much love to my old lady kitty as she does to all the others boarding there. We will most definitely patronize the Kitty Hotel again!! read more
