Definitely one of my favorite restaurants downtown since it has opened! My friends and I constantly come back if we are ever in the mood for Korean food. Our favorite has to be the spicy rice cakes since it has the perfect amount of spiciness and sweetness, and I always get the kimchi stew. It's a minimum of 30 mins before you'll get your food. They'll mess up your order. You'll watch them mess up other people's orders. You'll find hair in your rice. They'll tell you they'll call when your order is ready for pickup but they won't call. But when you finally get the chicken and put it in your mouth, none of it will matter. It is that good. This place is amazing! The selection of different sauces and crispy-ness of the chicken are a perfect symbiotic relationship. They also have a selection of other Korean dishes that are definitely worth trying! The order style was that of a fast food restaurant but the prices were heavy. The taste was average if you order the chicken but the rice cake soup and kimbap were very authentic in taste. The chicken wings were basically just fried chicken, something you could easily get from kfc minus all the salt from kfc of course. There's not many places to get Korean food in the area let alone good Korean food, so Waker is really amazing in both of those aspects. The fried chicken is amazing, with my personal favorite being the soy garlic. They have some other selections like kimbap, hemul pajeon, and ddukbokki! I have yet to try the ddukbokki but both the kimbap and pajeon were great. The only issue for me is the wait time. As other reviews have stated, the first time I came here right after they opened, the wait was indeed long, but now that they've had time to get a working system streamlined, they are much more efficient at getting food out to customers. Once you do get the food however, the sheer bliss that overcomes your taste buds will you make you forget all else. It's so good you won't even want the servers to bother you with questions about the food, like YES it's absolutely delicious, can you let me eat now?? But I mean, yeah, the service is great.
