The Korner Store is a private event space now. I sent an inquiry in for a Saturday night booking, and received prompt response with a quote and some options. There's a minimum food and drink amount. I coordinated a walk through of the space and made a deposit! The hosts and owners (Ina and Nick) are incredibly helpful throughout the booking and night of the event. My ~40 guests enjoyed the Korean food and full bar. We had a fantastic time in the private space. The venue has tv screens, music inputs, DJ and dance area, karaoke, and an optional photobooth. This place is as unique as their food and vibe is excellent . I arrived early for my event and saw how incredibly creative the owners were . We were a group of international visitors who knew little of Korean food and gift wrapping . Yes , the event was to learn Bojagi and eat delicious home cooked Korean food . This place is amazing! We came for a girls night and left feeling like it was a memorable night out. We visited Korner Store on a Saturday night, and while it wasn't too crowded, the energy was great. Coming from Koreatown in LA, we're pretty picky when it comes to Korean fried chicken--but Korner Store really impressed us. We tried the KFC wings in the yuzu jalapeño flavor, and they were a standout. The yuzu was bright and bold, not too spicy. Highly recommend if you're into unique flavor combos! We also ordered the bulgogi stuffed mushroom, spicy pork belly, and spicy raw crab. Everything was solid, and the crab especially tasted super fresh. Came here on a Saturday evening around 7pm and it was not packed. Only about two other tables sat around me. Got seated quickly but for some reason the staff did not give any menus so we had to flag him down a few times in order to get the menus. The food itself was pretty tasty. I liked the raw marinated crab and shrimp. You should eat it with rice because eating it alone can be salty. Plus they give you a bowl of rice and seaweed paper with the raw dishes. The rose rice cake was absolutely different and delicious. The rice cake is longer and it was chewy. The jalapeno yuzu chicken wing was decent, it did taste like yuzu for sure but it wasn't anything that stood out. The food itself is worth coming here to try but the service is meh. The worker did not check up on us often. When he gave the bill, well he gave another tables bill instead and there were only two other parties in there.... I'm so glad I finally got to check this spot out! The fried chicken was a huge highlight and now one of my faves. The yuzu jalapeno was my favorite and the soy garlic was way better than Bon Chon or bbq chicken in my option. The chicken was huge, meaty, and very crispy. It wasn't overly battered and had the perfect ratio. It was juicy as well. That said, I wasn't a fan of the tteokbokki. The sauce was a little watered down and the tteok resembled udon noodles. I know it's a variant, but I prefer the thicker tteok personally. The cocktail we ordered was very well balanced and wasn't too sweet. The service was nice. They did the occasional check ups on us and the food came out quick. I like the music they played as well. We came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend's graduation. It wasn't a packed house, so we managed to grab a table right away. They have a great selection of soju, ranging from affordable to premium. They even sell popular Korean food here like fried chicken, kalbi, spicy marinated crab, and more. Their prices are on the higher end so I'd recommend pregaming before arriving, if you're looking to get drunk. The owner is super sweet and came over to check up on us often. A lovely spot for good food and drinks that makes you feel like you're in Korea! We pre ordered the raw marinated prawns and crab and these were yummy - especially the crab!! We also really liked the raw octopus with wasabi. The soft tofu soup was a little different than normal as it was sweet but still great! Loved the teokkbokki because of the long and chewy ones! The fried chicken was a smaller portion than we expected but all the food was great overall. We got a variety of drinks including makgeolli, soju, and beer and enjoyed all of this. We unfortunately encountered a drunk customer who had an accident near our table - but the manager of the store was really apologetic and offered us some free drinks to make up for it. The Food Bulgogi with portobello mushroom is an absolute must and a star dish. Super great with cheese and I had a side of pickled daikon. The daikon didn't seem too pickled, but serving, but slightly overpriced. I really could have done without the dragonfruit beer which one of the staff really pressured me to buy, but he also recommended the bulgogi mushroom which was spot on, I am just not a beer person at all and would have preferred another drink. Sometimes you try things you've never had for the sake of it and he said it was rare for some event. It did have a nice smell though. The Ambiance Very cute decorations, all bright, and cute stands with some other Korean snacks. The place while intended for adults as a bar, has several tables and local families came with their children (under 10 years old), who were running around which I found surprising, but also noted that it's a generally very safe and clean environment that is well lit. I came here with friends before going to an event at Cow Palace and was under the impression that this place is a bar that just happens to serve food. However, after entering, the restaurant staff quickly forced us to choose a table to sit down at and order as a group. When the waitress came to take our order, I asked upfront if we could order separately on individual tabs because some of us were not drinking. I was abruptly informed that they do not split checks here. Okay. But why not allow us to order drinks and/or snacks (not a full meal) at the bar, since this is after all a bar? The situation left a bad impression, so I decided not to order any drinks and only ordered a small snack, since I needed something at least to get through the night. I wouldn't really order it again and the biggest complaint I have is the service, maybe it was different because it was for an event, they need to improve on that. We came here for JYP night. Tickets were $25 per person, but it includes all you can eat Korean drinking food and a raffle ticket to win a poster. The first hundred people will also get some random small gift. We got here around 7:30pm and the place was already pretty packed. There was a great variety of food at the all you can eat station - fried chicken, fries and tater tots, fried gimmari and mandu, beef bulgolgi, spicy pork, dakgalbi, chive pancakes, japchae, and tteubokki. All the food were freshly made and straight out of the pan, and they frequently restocked with batches of new food. Everything tasted really good, and the ayce itself was already worth the $25. I definitely maximized on the food with multiple rounds of bulgolgi and rice cake. There were special drinks for JYP night, and we got the Maniac for $15. It had 4-5 shots in it and was similar to a long island ice tea. We also got a kpop idol gift card to go along with the drink which was nice. The place got pretty packed around 8:30pm, the music was blasting and people were dancing to their favorite kpop songs. People were respectful and everyone was having fun. This place is a very cute pocha place with great lights and snacks. Everything was great here from the food to the drinks. The one thing I do need to comment on is their service. All the workers here are so friendly and welcoming. We tried ordering one of the food items but they ran out so instead they gave us a small order of what they had left and a free bottle of soju. I went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty empty. The decor was fun and welcoming, but overall I felt that the food was decent but too expensive. The soju cocktails, Mango delight and Milky yakult were tasty and refreshing. I also ordered the egg soufflé and taco trio (with bulgogi, pork, and kimchi). They were decent and portions were sizable. The hangover soup and soft tofu soup were good and very very hot (be careful!). I also got a side of rice to eat with the soups.
