and grape and honey espresso. There's also pastries options and bagels so I got the ham and cheese croissant and lox bagel. I personally like the dirty pistachio latte, but I wish there was more of a pistachio flavor but I a little underwhelmed with the lox bagel. The bagel was not properly toasted so it was still soft and it was not as flavorful. However, I really like the staff here. They were really friendly and gave great recs and made the experience better!

IF I won the lottery, there will be signs... *Ahem* Like opening a pommy-themed cocktail bar. Until then, I'm going to continue supporting small businesses like Stray Dog. Soft opening today, Stray Dog is cafe by day and cocktail bar by night from the owner of Lost Cat Bar (yes, the bar with Toby, the dwarf cat!). They took over Junior in The Mission and it's an ode to the owner's dogs. The logo is of the owner's pommy. =) M E N U Cafe (closes at 3 pm) - Drinks: Coffee + Tea - Food: Bagel (Boichik) + Pastries (Neighbor Bakehouse) Bar (opens at 5 pm) - Beer, wine, and craft cocktails D R I N K S * Strawberry Matcha Cloud ($7.50) - Add extra matcha shot ($3.50) Whisked to order, the unsweetened matcha was smooth with a strong earthy flavor, balanced by the natural sweet tang of the strawberry cold foam. Hope they get in lids with a sippy hole. * Coconut Cold Brew ($7) Not mine, didn't taste. F O O D * Lox Bagel ($14) Served open-faced, the lightly toasted plain bagel with a satisfying chewy texture was generously smeared with rich cream cheese, savory lox, pickled onions, capers, and arugula. I liked that they use pinoy vinegar to pickle the onions, as it gave a softer acidic bite. S E R V I C E Friendly, gracious owner(s). A M B I A N C E Similar vibes to Junior, they kept pretty much kept it the same...modern-retro with high tops and banquette lounge seating in the back. No more photobooth tho. Open 24/7 and it's $5/hour. Happy to see this space revive into a cafe by day, and cocktail bar at night. Def returning for cocktails soon!

3.5 stars for super sweet overpriced matcha. My friend saw a reel about Stray Dog, so we decided to stop by while going on a bagel crawl in the area. I'd had enough bagels by the time we arrived here, so I opted to just get a beverage. I ordered a strawberry cloud matcha with oat milk for $1 extra, which pushed my drink into the $9 range plus some change. The strawberry cloud was tasty but too sweet in my opinion. I didn't really taste the matcha, as it was overpowered by the milk and strawberry cloud. Also, the portion was pretty small compared to other cafés, so it felt like I was just paying for the ambience.

4.5 stars* Spent the morning having breakfast with some RnB at a cafe inside a bar! This new spot is so pretty and feels like such a chill space. The matcha was pretty good (not super strong though, a little on the creamier side) and I appreciate the use of real strawberries in their cream top. Their bagel was pretty good too, I couldn't taste the ube dressing but overall the flavors blended well together with the fresh blueberries. Service was super friendly. Hope to try their bar some time!

Super cute bar at night, cozy cafe during the day with asiain inspired drinks- we've already been twice for their soft opening and it has exceeded our expectations! We came on the second night for cocktails- they have an interesting menu- I got the sit stay matcha and the husband got the rice and smoke. The matcha cocktail was so delicius- creamy, boozy, dangerously drinkable. The next day we came for their coffee and bagels- coffee is top notch and the bagels are works of art. My blueberry yogurt one felt like I was eating a fluffy dessert. Prices are super reasonable, particularly for the quality. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Had a dope pizza pastry that came from a local bakery along with two of their coffee drinks. The brown butter latte sounds like it could be too sweet, but was totally on point. The bartender/barista had dope tunes playing which really set the mood. I'd come back and get drunk here when I'm back on the sauce. I'll leave wasted wandering around like a stray dog.

Delicious! Nice place - great vibes. Fast service. Would go again. I particularly likes the mushroom pastry.

They explained that the flight includes an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I hadn't had a straight espresso shot before, so this wasn't for me personally just because it was so overpowering. I enjoyed the other three though. Like the majority of SF, parking is difficult to locate. I was dropped off nearby the location. There is indoor and outdoor seating; I was able to grab an empty spot late in the morning on a weekend, but I don't think seating is always readily available. It's not a huge space.

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

I've…read moreheard this place has one of the best katsu sando around and as a lover of Katsu, I couldn't skip it. There's some good places in SF like Cafe Okawari. But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

Didn't realize the rose latte would come as a hot drink but it was still good. Opted for less sweet but was a little more sweet than expected compared to the Yemeni latte. Yemeni coffee was light and subtle with cinnamon. Milk cake was moist and not too sweet - texture reminds me of a les tres cake. It's located at the filthy corner of 4th and Clara, which made the outside smell of urine. Fortunately the cafe itself is pretty clean, which is a nice escape from the street. I ordered an Americano and my friend got one of their $8+ lattes, which were fine, but nothing special. My biggest gripe was the service and absolute scorn of the customer. My friend and I sat at the counter basically in a staring contest with the woman behind the counter, who just stared right back. After some 30 seconds, we finally flagging her down to place our order. After turning around the drinks suspiciously quickly, my friend and I sat down to catch-up in the empty cafe. Before long, the barista pumps up the volume, increasing higher and higher every 5 minutes or so, as if to signal to us that our time was up. I asked her to turn down the volume, which she tuned down from an 11 to a 7, but minutes later it continued to creep up, like the snooze setting of an alarm clock coaxing you to wake up - except in this case, to get out. Ultimately, the volume got unbearable and we finally threw in the towel and got out of there to let the barista enjoy her music. Definitely never going back there - they clearly don't want the business. Food: 5/10 Service: 0/10 Price: $$ Atmosphere: 4/10
