My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night to watch football. We heard great things about this place so decided to check it out for ourselves. We walked in and the place very spacious. Not too busy, so we were able to grab a table and they had all the big games playing. The guys behind the bar - Glen and Jay - were awesome!! Very attentive and friendly. While we were there we ordered food from "The Hidden Spot", which is located all the way in the back of the bar. The two spots are not connected so you'll need to pay separately. We heard so many good things about their wings and they were delicious. $10 for 5 wings or $18 for 10. We wanted to try a couple different flavors and they were both really good. The place has a chill vibe, no frills, just a fun neighborhood bar. We had a great time and will definitely be back again.

The new sound system sounds good w/out drowning conversations, The food menu serving up burgers, Sammies w/ tots along with Jpeño poppers goes perfect with the selection of draft brews or your favorite spirit/cocktails. Comedy on Mondays, brings a fresh line up.. full disclosure, Its my go to w/ locals The bartenders are free pour, cocktail savvy beautiful, friendly people. Live bands sound fabulous on the stage, I had the chance to see "The messengers" out of San Diago and they rocked the house w/ an incredible sound.

This is a great place to meet with friends for a drink but the food is amazing at this place. I usually don't eat bar food but this has one of best chicken wings in the city of San Francisco. I tried their different variety and they all complemented each other. The service here was good and attentive. I look forward to go here again for food and drinks.

Update to the review. Still a dope place to be and meet your neighbors - If you're a real SF-er, you're going to run into a friend here. Or someone one degree of separation from you. They got food back in the kitchen! Current menu is from Hidden Spot, so back to bar foods. Their fried chicken sandwich is amazing - had the extra spicy one and my taste buds were so happy.

I came here to watch the Warriors VS Kings game and the vibes were so fun! Everyone seemed to know each other at the bar and it was pretty friendly. The staff behind the counter was friendly and they had quick service despite it being busy. I ordered a draft beer and a cocktail. Both were delicious and the cocktail had a perfect balance of all the flavors! For the kitchen, I ordered the Dino Popcorn Chicken which was a perfect spice. Anything more would've been way too spicy for me. I saw a lot of people order the chicken tenders and wish that I got that too. I will definitely be back and will bring more friends too!!

We moved to the neighborhood five years ago and started coming to this local dive bar three years ago when it was called DOCTORS OFFICE. It changed soon after to RECOVERY ROOM and with the change there seems to have arrived a new chef who serves the most incredible hamburgers and fries. We split the quarter pound smash burger every time and the fries come hot and crispy. The burger is just $9 and continues to be our favorite burger in the city for its flavor and price. It has bacon and cheese in addition to the usual suspects, and we think about the burger often when we are having dinner at home. Soleil Ho, why didn't you include the Smash Burger on your best burgers list? Maybe it's better you didn't, so we can continue to have our favorite burger without waiting for an hour in a quiet bar with just a handful of people.

Local neighbor pub with surprisingly pretty good food, chill atmosphere and tv for watching games. MAY2020: Haven't been here in over a year! They have indoor and outdoor seating! We came here recently to watch the Warriors v Lakers game outside. I got a blue moon $6. They have a giant tv facing their outdoor seating area for game nights which was nice, since their indoor seatings were full. We were able to order drinks from their outdoor seating area. The only con was that it was a windy night and there's no heaters, but just dress warm if you plan on sitting outside. The workers are nice and kept checking in on us to make sure we were good with drinks.

Had a good time over here and the food was very good. No lie, their chicken sandwich was probably the biggest that I've seen. Good food and cool atmosphere, no complaints whatsoever.

Im always craving for excellent bar food in the neighborhood. So I was static when I found out Recovery Room started open early and serving lunch. I went in and was greeted immediately by Evelyn and gave a warm welcome. Nice comfortable place and not too crowded since it was early. Sat at one end of the bar and at opposite end were other customers who seem to be regulars. I ordered a beer and Evelyn started a tab instead of charging me immediately, like other places. I end up ordering a classic hamburger from the menu and a side order of fries. Best hamburger and fries I had I a while. Other customer came in and sat next to me. They ordered chicken wings and told me that they were excellent and recommended other hamburgers from the menu. Overall, I will go back and try other items. Hopefully Evelyn will be there. Great service and ambience.

Unless maybe if you're not a local regular customer. As a non-local, I came upon it as I was walking on Taraval all the way from Ocean Beach. The first time I visited, I was looking to wet my whistle without resorting to booze. The bartender happily complied by pouring me a Diet Coke. I felt badly I didn't order a proper stiff drink, so I tried to make up for it in the tip. Months later, I found myself returning on a rather nippy afternoon. As luck would have, just as I took a seat at the bar (and not the one shaped like a concave set of cheeks), I saw a hand drawn chalkboard advertising "Tito's Borghetti Espresso Martinis $12". Yep, that was it for me (Photo 7). The Tito's brand really made the difference, especially the Caffè Borghetti Espresso Liqueur. Very smooth with just the right amount of kick. Meanwhile, the true regulars were socializing with each other like an episode of "Cheers". I just need to take a long ride on the L-Taraval MUNI line to get here. Her service, attention, and friendliness are consistently stellar; it's the kind of hospitality that makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time you walk in. Kelley is fantastic at helping with recommendations, whether we're trying something new or just can't decide. She also has an incredible sense for timing, especially with kids at the table. She makes a point to get their orders in quickly, which helps ward off delays (and the occasional hangry moment), and that level of awareness does not go unnoticed. Do you love double-layered tortillas around your super-meaty tacos? Well, then Underdogs Too is your kinda place! =). A Nick's Way Taco is a taco with a crispy corn tortilla wrapped in a soft corn tortilla with Monterey Jack cheese, pinto beans, pico de gallo & guacamole. I ordered two tacos "Nick's Way" . The first was a regular Pollo taco (grilled chicken) and the other was a Pollo Asado taco (shredded chicken raised by local provider Mary's Chicken). Both tacos came with a lot of pico de Gallo, and a HUGE dollop of Guacamole! After trying both of the tacos back to back, I think I'll go back for the regular Pollo (grilled chicken) version, as I found it more tasty.. PRO TIP: These little tacos are very filling! Next time, I'll just order just one for lunch - that's plenty, unless I was absolutely starving.... I first experienced these tacos when they had a booth at a local street fair, and was happy to happen upon this little corner of 46tj/Taraval way out here on the farthest Avenues in the Outer Sunset. Despite its proximity to the Ocean just a couple of blocks down the street, we visited here on a warm day to again savor this special style of taco. Worth coming back for sure. GETTING HERE: Easy transit access via the L Taraval Light Rail line which stops just across the street. Parking is relatively doable if you are willing to walk a block (worst case).
