Huge thank you to the staff at Krabby Comb! This was by far the best experience we've ever had with kids haircuts. In the past, we, the parents, had to sit with the kids to hold them during the haircut due to all the crying and moving around. We would leave covered in hair and the kids were in tears. We then found Krabby Comb on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a little far for us but there arent that many kids hair places. When we arrived, we had appointments and could get both of the kids done at the same time! When you walk in, you can tell the place is geared towards kids. This was the first time we didn't need to hold the kids throughout the haircut. There wasn't any crying or screaming, they were given entertainment, and weren't traumatized by the clippers. At the end, the kids got little toy prizes to take home and if old enough, a lollipop. The haircuts were fast and really well done. The ladies there were all very in tune with what the kids needed throughout the whole procedure. And the biggest surprise is that my oldest son has already asked to go back for another haircut!! We are definitely coming back here again in the future. read more

Went in for a first haircut for an almost 3 year old. Mom was a bit anxious, but our stylist put her at ease and clearly explained how the photo that was shared was definitely more than a "trim". Mom decided to go with the shorter cut, after she was comfortable with how it was all explained. The result was a very handsome style that kept his curls looking amazing. Our stylist was quick and efficient which is important with a squirmy toddler. We paid extra for the first haircut package which was well worth it. #740 Update: it's unfortunate that I keep receiving a false rebuttal, because I also have the text logs. I can understand not wanting a negative review, but you don't book a customer in one line and then write, "excuse me? There are no appointments for today." Then repeatedly argue with me online instead of over the phone. (Again, no one would answer the phone.) The customer service simply is no longer there. I try to be fair in my reviews, and you lost a customer of 6 years--and for what? Doesn't make any sense. If the shoe fits, wear it as they say and you certainly fulfilled that in your name. To recap: Your text support offered me the two appointments. I am well aware of your booking system. Offering the two appointments and taking them away in one text was tone deaf. Sorry but don't offer an appointment you can't keep. You can clearly see the text where she said the appointment "wasn't available". Also, my younger child was already in the system and I could not book the second appointment. Get your facts straight, and please be honest. I was a good client for 6 years. Either be straightforward with your clientele or hire better front end staff. I am even more disillusioned by your dishonest response! You ask for reviews after every single haircut, yet when I provide honest feedback you argue. Please don't ask for feedback if you can't handle the truth. Extremely disappointed to say the least. Original review: This place might have reopened but the service has gone from above average to terrible. I could only book one child online and when I tried to book two, that child who had now been going here for 6 years was out of the system and marked as "family" without any prior contact information. I tried to text them to add the second child and they gave me two time slots. Great! So when I accepted them they gave them to someone else, and acted as if they hadn't booked me. They told me that they didn't know our names and refused to answer the phone. It was as if I was having a text conversation with two different people at the same time. In the past they were hit and miss with being on time if you booked but this is a whole other level. Don't say I didn't warn you. Also, they will offer discounts here and there, but do everything in their power not to honor them. Sorta strange as I always tip at least 20 per cent (More than what is suggested by the actual shop). I would always recommend this place and go out of my way to go here, but with service this "krabby," I know it's time to move on! Let me preface this review by saying I understand the importance of schedules, and I understand that we were late for our appointment. However, upon arrival, we received the iciest greeting I've ever received from a business that depends on customer service. Yes, we were late but I would expect some understanding or at least some general kindness from a company that caters to a young clientele that have trouble with attention span and take forever to put their clothes and shoes on. More about our greeting: without a smile, we were told that we were seven minutes late, told about the five minute grace period, barked at about their next available appointment, and then ignored for thirteen minutes. Lynne, who we made the appointment with after seeing her mentioned in other reviews, was the one being incredibly rude and cold. Nevin (I apologize if I misspelled your name) helped us reschedule our appointment. We could see how uncomfortable Lynne's interaction with our family made Nevin. She seemed embarrassed and maintained small talk with Lynne as she sat behind the counter. I could only describe Lynne's demeanor toward us as Krabby. Unfortunately ironic. Another family arrive late and received a kinder greeting as they rescheduled. Service: Lynne's next appointment arrived, and Lynne provided this child and father with a sweet and enthusiastic greeting. She attempted to cut this child's hair and seemed to have no experience on how to entertain or distract her young clientele. As an early childhood educator for over a decade, I cringed at her sad attempts to provide this child with adequate service. Shortly after Lynne accepted her client, Nevin bit the bullet and offered to provide us service. It seemed like Nevin was not comfortable making decisions while Lynne was next to her. The haircut turned out fine. I feel bad that my daughter was not acknowledged during our wait, which due to the awkwardness of Lynne's greeting, felt like forever, and I am positive we will not come back to this place. The place is brightly painted, nothing special, no fun seats, some iPads, no interactive toys while getting hair cuts. Tinsel is available but not all staff are able to do them, and while they take mere minutes, they did not offer to help each other do the service for my daughter. No pictures taken. We just wanted to get out of there, and we were not feeling joy at all. I can speculate about why we received an icy greeting, but I'd rather spend time recommending Tien and the friendly service and staff at Rainbow Kids salon in Imperial and Yorba Linda. While it is a bit pricier, the service did not leave me feeling weird and regretful for hours to come like the Krabby Comb. read more

I also appreciated that the salon felt thoughtful and kid-friendly without having a bunch of cheaply made toys for sale. I took my baby for his very first haircut, and sadly, it wasn't the experience I was hoping for. First haircuts are such a big milestone, but the stylist barely interacted with him -- she only said "hi" when he looked directly at her, and otherwise stayed very dry and disengaged. It made the whole thing feel rushed and impersonal. As for the cut, it wasn't blended at all and honestly looked unfinished. For over $30, I expected more attention to detail -- at the very least, some effort to style his hair before sending us on our way. Instead, it was just snip, snip, done. I don't mind paying for quality, but when you're paying salon prices, you expect both skill and a welcoming experience, especially for a child's first haircut. Unfortunately, we didn't get either, and I left feeling disappointed rather than excited to show off his "first haircut" pictures. read more

He was able to play an iPad while getting his haircut and received a prize at the end. He said he can't wait to go back. The whole store was decked out for kids. Thank you Krabby Comb staff. We had a great experience here! Royce was absolutely wonderful with my toddler. We've visited Rainbow Kids before, so we came in with high expectations--and this place definitely met them. Making an appointment was easy, the space was clean, the staff was friendly, and the service was quick. My toddler cried during his haircut, and the team was so understanding and efficient, which made the whole experience much less stressful.
