Given how popular this place is, I'm surprised there are only four reviews so far. Out of all the places at The Hangar, this and Amorcito always seem to have the longest lines. If you're not here by 11 a.m., you may end up waiting for a while just to place an order. I tried the original location at the Anaheim Packing District when it first opened but wasn't too big of a fan back then. It may have been based on what I ordered at that time. I think I ordered the right item today to make me give it four stars. Place is mainly known for its poutines but I prefer to stick with its sandwiches. Poutines are just too heavy for me. Sandwiches here are heavy as well, but not quite as heavy as poutines. I went with East Coast Dip, and regular fries with habanero pineapple ketchup dipping sauce. East Coast Dip is basically a French Dip sandwich but made with pulled pork instead of beef. It also has broccoli rabe, pork jus for dipping, and horseradish mayo, on a French roll. The bread was soft and went well with the rich, tender pulled pork. I'm not quite sure about broccoli rabe in the sandwich though. It was rather bitter, and texture was mushy. I actually thought it was collard greens until I read the menu. The jus dipping sauce was good but I wish they would put it in a wider container. I had a tough time dipping my sandwich. I also ran out of jus sauce after eating about two thirds of my sandwich. Fries were pretty good, although I can't say they are the "best fries" as they claim. They seemed like they were double fried so the texture was pretty crispy. The habanero dipping sauce was really good. I think it's a store bought hot sauce mixed with ketchup because the hot sauce tasted very similar to a hot sauce I used to buy. read more

I LOVE POUTINE. The kroft is probably the only place that can actually make a good poutine in America so I go here often. I went for the chicken parmesean poutine which was exactly how you'd expect except it had added fried cheese curds which is was so good! I always get the classic with extra gravy. (Amazing as always) This time when I went, I had an electronic coupon for one free side. I saw this amazing gooey picture of the flaming cheese curds, but when we went to pick up our order they switched it for the regular one. I guess they're popular! I was super super dissapointed with the cheese curds. There was no cheese. It was completely hollow breading and the cheese was crispy at the bottom (it was hard to tell what was burnt cheese and breading). I would have been even more dissapointed if I had paid for this. Loaded Fries at Kroft are the best ones so far. They are not greedy with the amount used, they will make sure your loaded fries are really loaded. This place is located in the lbx Hangar, and incase you were wondering its in the same plaza where the new in-n-out just opened up. Just turn onto McGowen st. and it'll be like right next to RA YOGA on your lefthandside, you cant miss it. Parking might be tough to spot if you come around lunch or dinner time, but you'll be fine. If you like meat on fries then this is your place. It tastes just like their other store at the Anaheim packing district (check it out on yelp), but without the long drive and packed parking! I love coming to the hangar in LB to get food from here as they have a diverse selection to choose from. I haven't tried The Kroft before so I decided why not try something new today. I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich alone. Just the sandwich alone was $16! Wasn't too impressed but the sandwich either as when I opened it seemed like someone just threw it together last minute, presentation was disappointing. On top of that the chicken was a bit dry. Came here with a good friend of mine because I know he's a chili cheese fries addict and always loves having them and because the poultries here look great. I had the BBQ smash fries. They were fantastic and certainly did not disappoint. My friend had the chili cheese fries and he loved them! The food here certainly did not disappoint and we also plan on coming back here for the burgers which looked just as good. Another thing that was very surprising was the Pinapple Cream soda they have which was a surprising hit with us. It was also great and went along well with the food. The service provided was great and even though there was a really big line when we got there and even after we ordered the food still managed to come out fairly quick. Only thing I do advise when coming here is getting good seating because the area is packed with many restaurants and not enough seating to accommodate. Although it's no big deal since we didn't mind eating standing or even waiting for a table to clear which to be completely fair didn't take long. This does not take away from the experience though but I thought it fair to mention for those who have never been to LBX. I am look forward to trying the burgers next time ! read more

Ordered a quick side of garlic fries on-the-go but was surprised how long it took considering I was the only one in line at the time. I went to get my drink at Bottlecraft during the wait and after 10 ish minutes in that line, I came back and the worker said maybe another 10 mins. When I finally got my fries after 20 minutes, it was surprisingly very oily and a bit too soft for my liking (I usually like my fries crispy.) For the price of $6, I think it was reasonable with the amount provided and it was overall still enjoyable - especially after a drink. I had a great experience at The Kroft Restaurant in The LBX Exchange. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich and french fries, and it was good. It was a big portion, lots of steak and grilled onions. No peppers like in some similar sandwiches. The food was delicious and served piping hot since it's made to order. The customer service was great, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. It's location inside allows you to grab a beer if you want to go with your sandwich or follow up with a dessert. read more

I really enjoyed the poutine here. I don't know if it's authentic poutine but the flavor was great and not too overwhelming. I was craving it for a while and it really satisfying. This place makes me sad. Why? Because I ate here and wasted my carb count (I have GD) on a porchetta sandwich and their poutine. The porchetta: so greasy, it was oily through the wrapper, but then oddly enough, the pork was dry. It still had some fat, but was kinda dry and tasteless. This was not good. Like my husband threw it away instead of eating it after he had the first bite. :(... The only saving grace was the bread but even that was cut uneven and then when they sliced the sandwich in half, they didn't cut it through to the bottom layer of bread. So next we have the poutine. The food is ok for what it is. My complaint is how their Postmates is set up. I wanted to order a burger with spicy fries but the spicy fries aren't available separately so you have to order the combo. I didn't really want their drink options but was going to do it just to get the spicy fries. The description said if you select the combo then list which drink you want in the Special Instructions but they didn't have a Special Instructions area set up. So I ended up ordering a different drink that wasn't included in the combo. Luckily they had a coupon offer that I used so I didn't end up feeling like I paid extra for a drink that should've been included in the price. But anyway if the manager sees this and you tend to not get a lot of combo orders through Postmates, that's probably why. read more

I have to admit, I'm not much of a poutine fan. While I love my fries, if I'm going to eat it with other things, say gravy, on top of it, I want my fries to be covered in it. The Kroft is located inside a converted hangar that houses other popular eateries. Food: I wasn't really sure what I wanted to eat, but I did know I didn't want a sandwich. Having not had the opportunity to try a sample of their food during the YES event last year, I tried them out this time around. I got the fried chicken poutine. The chicken was their fried chicken cut up in chunks over gravy, green onions, cheese curds, pickled onions over a bed of fries. Here's the problem: There were more fries than anything else and not enough gravy to go around. I'm not sure how poutine is actually supposed to be served, but if you're going to give me gravy over my fries, at least make sure I get enough of it to cover my fries. Too many fries is no good either so I ended up eating all the chicken and a few more fries that had gravy on it and tossed the rest. Maybe I picked the wrong dish. I don't know. Supposedly, they're known for their chicken. I don't know about that because the chicken itself I ate was barely seasoned and tasted a little dry. Maybe I'll pick something else next time and see. I went here with my wife after she got off her long day of work. We are going to try everything in the LBX hangar so we decided to try The Kroft. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala poutine. The cashier recommended this to us and I felt like we should have gotten something else to eat. A positive of our experience is that the portion is huge and the fries were crispy, which is our favorite type of fries. However, there were a lot of issues with our experience. They didn't have a lot of cheese curds (which is a MUST HAVE in poutine) and had too much spices. The gravy just tasted a lot more like curry than traditional poutine and we didn't get that much chicken. The price for it was $10 which is not bad for the portion but it just wasn't right for us. We are going to give it a second try in the near future and I will update the review then. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

Have eaten at some of their other locations so when having the kids at LBX, thought I'd come here for a burger. Saw there was happy hour and was waiting in line and get up to the front at 5:58. Ask if they have a kids burger for my kid, they say no. I ask if there is a single burger (all the burgers are doubles) and they say they can make one, but will charge me for the double. I decline the offer and say he'll just take the double. Then I check the menu to order for myself and order a double spicy jack burger, or whatever they call it, and ask for a happy hour beer. She says happy hour is over as it's now exactly 6pm as I am handing over my card. I ask if they can override since I was actively ordering and the girl says no (you can tell the young male cashier felt wrong dealing with this as he kept looking at her). She then offers me 15% off a beer, when happy hour is 50% off. I ask if there is an override and she says it can't be done. I ask if they can override if someone finds a hair in their food, which she says is different. So after the attempted rip off for my kids burger then trying to skip out on the happy hour to make an extra 4 bucks, they just lost a customer. Thank god there is an epic poke spot 30 feet away. Wow, I cannot believe I haven't tried this place. In my first experience I tried the cheese steak sandwich. Although it was delicious, I have to say it was a bit greasy and the greasy got everywhere, on the meat, the bread, the wrapper, etc. Would not recommend eat this without several napkins. Although I would order again, I would more than likely try something different on my next visit. I also tried the braised beef poutine. It was good, but felt like if they used a different type of potato, maybe like the fries with ripples it would catch the other stuff better, I just think the potatoes brought it down a notch.
