It's been quite some time since I've last dined here and it was just as cozy and yummy as I remember. As a LB native it's nice to come back and see that nothing has changed with the place. Service is excellent as per usual! Check this spot out if you haven't already!

It's been a while since we last visited The Coffee Cup Cafe, and the flavor and service are still excellent! They now accept credit card, so no need to run to the ATM to enjoy their delicious breakfast offerings. We had their Huevos Rancheros (again) and Sal's Enchilada Eggs, and they were both delicious. The Sal's Enchilada Eggs with chorizo was a great recommendation from staff. They definitely do not skimp out on putting more than enough sauce on their food, which I appreciate. you can never have too much! The staff is so friendly, checks up on water/coffee refills frequently, and keeps the restaurant clean and tidy.

The food is very hearty and it's a great way to start my day - I get breakfast here. It makes me feel happy and energized for the day. The servers are very attentive and nice. Very upbeat and fun - gotta have drinks here one day.

Hot green salsa spilled all over me

Waitress spilled full container of salsa all over my clothes, face: in my nose nostrils, eyes and ears. Then they bring hard paper towels from the restroom, not even soft napkins. I asked for the manager to be called who when she arrived laughed at us and said there's nothing she could do because the owner is out of state. The waitress brought a $20 gift certificate- AS IF I'd EVER want to return there. I would love it if the owner saw this and called me to apologize.

Always consistent and good! Nice people work here, it's packed on the weekends. It can be a little loud at times, but it's worth it. FOOD*** I usually get the Potato Scramble with Bacon, but today I got the ABC omelette. It was delicious! Check out the picture, the avocado was perfect! I shared this with my wife and it was the perfect size breakfast to fill you up but not weight you down. SERVICE*** Everyone that works here is polite and friendly. I've actually been dining here since 2007-2008. Never had a bad experience. Can't believe I never reviewed it before. The 2 Latino guys that work here are the ultimate Long Beach vibe. They genuinely make my day better every time I see them. PARKING*** Street parking only, but there's plenty of spots. Thanks again Coffee Cup Cafe, see you next weekend!

A no-frills diner that my husband has frequented throughout his life. They have a really friendly staff that's constantly checking up on you at the bar, and it makes you feel right at home. I've eaten here twice now and the food doesn't disappoint. It's classic diner breakfast food with some Mexican options. The portions are hefty and definitely shareable and the coffee I has unlimited refills. I had the LB favorite omelette this time and they did not skimp on any of the ingredients inside. I loved it and I will always be down to eat here!

When you want an old school breakfast experience, go to the Coffee Cup Cafe located on 4th St in Long Beach. They don't have a private parking lot so finding a space, especially on the weekends can be challenging but worth the search. I love Frence Toast, not with Challah, Brioche or another bread type. I like good old white or wheat Wonder Bread or something similar. You have a choice of 1, 2 or 3 slices cut in half. The sausage links were cooked great, but 4 links were too much. I would prefer 2 in the future. Service and price were also great. The Coffee Cup Cafe has been around a long time and if you like standard breakfast and lunch fare, you'll love the Coffee Cup.

Had the French toast combo and the chicken fried steak for breakfast with the gf. The chicken fried steak was really good. I'm shocked I don't come here more often but was reminded today that this is one of the better breakfast spots in Long Beach

Saturday brunch was delicious! First time visiting & I really enjoyed this cafe. Started off with spectacular service from David (the "bus boy"). He was a true pleasure. Extremely attentive, warm personality. We honestly thought that he was our server. We saw him more than...never mind. I'd visit again for him alone. This casual diner was packed and you could tell that the majority of customers are regulars. Breakfast burrito filed with garlic chicken sausage was so good. Massive in size and easily could've fed two people. Pancakes are great French toast is great. Ironically I didn't find my cup of coffee to be that great, but I will definitely visit again for the food.

I've been coming here for over 15 years, and I'll come back for 15 more. This place has been very consistent over the years and they never fail to make sure their customers leave with a smile and a full belly. The food here has been consistently delicious, offering the best breakfast items and a great variety. The service here has always been great, too! The ambiance is what makes it unique - it still very much gives the mom and pop diner kind of vibe, that's how you know the food will be amazing. They even have the same tables from when I first started coming here 15 years ago. They're consistent in many ways! My only gripe here is the parking. Expect to park in the neighborhoods and go for a stroll. On my last visit I had to park about two blocks away and walked over - luckily it's a short walk but it's totally worth it. Overall, I highly recommend this cafe and will keep coming back!

Fiesta Bowl (Black beans, pouched eggs, and avocado) 10/10

Love this place. Although, my last visit was probably the worst service I've ever experienced and they weren't even that busy. I never sat at the counter before so unsure if it was due to that. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my water. I kept having to ask, which has never been an issue before. My sausage was never brought out. Lastly, I was charged for coffee when I didn't order any. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Everything on the menu is great. I love their Sunrise Fiesta Bowl 10/10. If you love black beans and eggs I highly recommend this dish. Add some salsa and this meal is complete. This breakfast/lunch spot is typically busy. The service is fast and efficient. They are great at coffee refills and checking in on you. Plenty of seating. No outdoor seating.

Great coffee shop with an extensive menu with such a great variety of food! Quick and friendly service- super attentive and helpful. Comfortable atmosphere with a good amount of seating for a weekday morning. It's my understanding there can be a wait on the weekends! Parking is street parking so it's a crap shoot but worth it!

The food is really good. Miss the Louisiana /cajun influence but the food is still great . The servers are rude most of the time , but the bussers /ones who bring you drinks are super kind . Waiting 45 minutes for our food , for a party of 4, just kind of turns me off from coming here. My kids really like the food tho and I enjoy the scramble . We always debate whether to eat here bc we don't want to give service to bad customer service but we also do like the food .

For starters, we got the Parker House Rolls, which comes with truffle butter, local citrus honey, and grana padano cheese. These rolls were so fluffy and flavorful. We also ordered the hummus, which was so rich and creamy, and the oysters from the raw bar. For the main, we ordered the Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Wedge salad to share. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!

I recognize I only saw part of the interaction, so I don't know everything that led up to it. However, from what I witnessed, it was uncomfortable to watch an employee being lectured publicly. The interaction continued with repeated calls for her to "smile" in front of customers, which only made the situation more awkward for everyone nearby. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've observed this type of behavior. One of the reasons I continue to come back is because the staff--from Mary to the newer members of the team--are consistently friendly, hardworking, and provide excellent service. They deserve to be treated with the same respect they show their customers. The food and service were excellent, but watching an employee be publicly reprimanded put a damper on what otherwise would have been a great breakfast. The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars is because of the owner's behavior. The food and the staff were excellent, but watching an employee be publicly reprimanded in front of guests significantly took away from what otherwise would have been a wonderful experience.

Cool, they can make it. what I got was a cup of coffee in a to go cup (even though I was dining in) with milk and a foam, so really what I got was a flat white. the other coffee ordered was a latte which was pretty standard I ordered the chicken sandwich ($12) which comes on a biscuit and a side of fruit, to round it out I also ordered the yogurt bowl which is yogurt and granola. When the sandwich came out it looked rather disappointing. The biscuit itself is small, probably the size of a Pillsbury dough biscuit, and the chicken wasn't much bigger. nothing else on it like a green, coleslaw, sauce, etc. just these two items. However, it did come with a side of a honey butter. the side of fruit was about 8 pieces split between pineapple, melon, and grapes. the whole sandwich was dry, which can be expected from a biscuit, but this was just too dry for me. the yogurt bowl($8) came in a small bowl that had a large flaring, basically the entire dish was large but the bowl portion was small. I eat yogurt everyday and the amount you get is probably half the size of a standard serving of yogurt (170g) and it was sparsely sprinkled with granola. my partner ordered a chorizo burrito ($15) and while she raved about the flavor the size of it was laughable, especially considering there are plenty of spots in LB that serve double or even triple the size of this burrito at or near the same price lastly, and the most disappointing of all, was the cinnamon roll($8). they were on display at the register and figured yeah I want one of those and instead of giving it to me right then and there it was brought with the rest of the food but it was not warmed up, which made me question why I waited for it. It was rool temp, burnt, and hard. I do want to try other items but the price you pay for what you get, especially considering this experience I had, is off putting.
