It's like your local spot always a line here. They close early. The vibe is perfect place for a sit down coming home vibe. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday. They have homemade pies here. I had the soup and salad combo with a pie. It was a great deal combo. The chili was very tasty. Hard to find a good chili often times too salty.

Omg, i had to wrote another review. Was meeting a friend from out of town coming in from Long Beach Airport. It was the perfect location. We enjoyed a great lunch. The Obion rings had me off a delicate tempura-like batter not the beer batter or breadcrumb fry I'm accustommed to but pretty good. Of course, i had to try the Lush Pie. This was probably the best lemon pie dessert ever! So good, my friend had to order her own dessert. Looks like a popular place with the locals. Service was friendly and attentive. For sure coming back! Street parking.

Me and my aunt decided to come here after hearing the great reviews on this place on a Friday morning. Parking isnt the best and we had to park down the street and around the corner but we didn't mind the walk. We came around 11 or so we put on name on the list and it took about 20-25 min before we were called back. We for a table right next to the window. Our waitress Juleni was super sweet and helpful ( she even complimented my freckles ). I ordered the chicken pot pie with side salad with Italian dressing and a hot green tea. My aunt ordered the clam chowder and turkey sandwich in squaw bread and a hot green tea also. Our food came out very quickly maybe 5 minutes or so after ordering. We both really enjoyed our meals. I haven't had a chicken pot pie in awhile and it was the perfect crust to filling ratio and very filling. The salad was really good as well. Although the restaurant was packed we didn't feel rushed and were able to catch up and spend time together which we both appreciated

Wow... seen this place over the years but never stopped in. Until today..... after my husband's co worker began insisting we give it a try. Omg he has right.... Obsessed...... just left after breakfast and already thinking of when I will be back. Breakfast was amazing desserts here look amazing. I was stuffed and didn't try anything this time. The lines here are out the door. We were lucky and spotted 2 empty chairs at the counter n sat right away. Our server Roger was great. My primary care doctor is close by.... Next week and I will stop by here again :) FIY: ambiance here is tight in case you don't like crowded seating this might not be the right spot for you. (There is outside seating but it was closed today)

This is an iconic place for anyone who grew up in the LBC. I have been here a few times and every visit, the service and food is amazing. Because it is so popular, it can get busy and since it is a bit small, you may need to wait, but it is well worth the wait. A few of my favorite dishes include the country fried steak, french toast, chicken pot pie, and the homemade pies. There is such a great variety of food that I am sure you will have no problem finding something to your liking. As you sit in the cafe, you can get some free smells of all their homemade pies. My favorite is the peach pie, it is fruity, fresh, flavorful, and pairs well with a scoop of ice cream. If needed, you can always take a pie home if you are too full from your entree. The staff here are so nice and often times, you will find the owners helping out during busy peak days. They are attentive and quick to serve. Every time has been great so I highly recommend if you are looking for some great breakfast or an early lunch. This is a Long Beach staple, so don't miss out!

I'd been putting off dining in because there always seems to be a line, but I finally made it and wow, I get the hype now. We arrived just a few minutes after opening and it was already filling up. The food is amazing. I ordered the turkey, spinach, and cheese omelet with added mushrooms, and it was perfection. I also shared the banana pancakes with my sister-in-law and stole a few bites of my boyfriend's biscuits and gravy. Every flavor was memorable! And let's not forget the homemade jam. If you have the option to get toast, try the sourdough and absolutely drench it in that jam..trust me. Despite how busy it looked, the service was quick, and the food came out fast. The place seems small when you first walk in, but there's extra seating in the back, so they keep things moving efficiently. Overall, totally worth the wait. I'm already planning my next visit.

I can't believe I'm just now writing a review, considering I've been coming here since the mid-'90s. Bake N Broil is truly a neighborhood gem. If you don't believe it, just drive by and watch the number of people waiting outside--and inside--for a table. They don't take reservations, which is a bit of a bummer, but honestly, it's usually worth the wait. I've always ordered breakfast, and everything I've had over the years has been consistently good. My go-to orders are the diced ham & eggs, banana nut pancakes, and the ABC omelette. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. They used to be open until 8pm, so I was surprised on a recent Sunday visit to learn they now close at 2pm for dine-in. They do remain open for takeout only until around 7pm or 8pm. Parking can be a little challenging. There's limited street parking, plus a lot behind the restaurant. Back in the day, you could park in the church lot across the street, but I'm not sure if that's still allowed. Oh and can't forget about the baked goods. Lemon lush pie, the muffins, and slice of red velvet cake- So good! Overall, I'm glad to see that after all these years, the food and service are still exceptional.

Where do I even begin? I've been coming to Bake-N-Broil for over a decade now, and it's safe to say I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the place. The love part is easy...the food, the staff, and especially the desserts keep me coming back. The hate part? The wait. No matter when you come, expect at least a 30-minute wait. You write your own name down on the list and hope to hear it called before you start craving dessert for lunch. Honestly, I wish they had an attendant to help with check-ins -- it would make the experience feel a little more cared for and organized. That said, the staff has always been friendly, helpful, and upbeat, which makes up for a lot. The food is consistently solid -- slightly above standard -- and you really can't go wrong with most of the menu. But let's be real: the stars of the show are the desserts and baked goods. The red velvet cupcake is hands-down the best I've ever had -- 10/10. No one else even comes close. The lemon lush pie is another standout -- creamy, perfectly tart, and absolutely unforgettable. You'll never think about the old tired lemon meringue again. On my most recent visit, my server was Juleni, who was an absolute gem -- sweet, attentive, and genuinely kind. I tried the cheeseburger for the first time and would give it a solid 7/10. Great presentation, though the patty could've used a bit more seasoning and the bottom bun was a little soggy. Will I be back? Absolutely. After more than 10 years, Bake-N-Broil still has my heart (and my sweet tooth). If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by -- just be ready to wait a bit, because it's worth it.

I love Bake 'n Broil so much I go there for my birthday every year. I always say if you can do a good classic American breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon & hash browns you're the one. & they really are it. Their seasonal menu smacks and their food is top tier. They got homemade jam on the tables y'all! Plus lots of baked goods to buy. Haven't tried their lunch menu, but for breakfast it hits. *Street Parking easily accesible *Can be a bit of a wait on the weekends but worth it IMO *Make sure your whole party is there or you'll have to wait to be seated! *Service always attentive & nice

Fantastic diner experience. Plenty of counter space for dining. There was a crowd and line for tables but the staff we're working hard to get everyone served. Ordered the huevos rancheros with seasoned hash browns and OJ. Great tasting dish with spicy salsa. Id come back for the pies.

Consistently great! I do take-out more often than dine in, but both ways have aways been fantastic. I do suggest dining in as food is freshest and well presented. Serice is always top notch too. As far as pricing goes, the portions are big. I always have a 2nd meal with every dish I've ordered. I am a fan of leftovers! The ingredients & quality is consistent and fresh. This place gets really busy. Most visits, there is a wait around 30 mins. Staff is always working hard and they do squeeze in as many tables/booths as possible, but it gets loud and people are standing around both inside and out. Due to this, we more often than not order take-out. The restaurant doesn't seat on the front patio, so on a nice day, you'll often find some who ordered take-out enjoying their meal out front. And bonus, I see staff coming out to clear the trash. Takeout, is equally great (minus presentation of course). The to go container is packed so they definitely don't skimp. Every take-out order has been as requested and ready upon my arrival. Don't sleep on desserts here either. Red velvet cake and carrot cake are my favorites, but you really can't go wrong with of the desserts. The seasonal Olallieberry lush pie is a total win as well.

Was gifted this Sweet Potato pie from my neighbor! This was probably the best tasting sweet potato pie I have ever had in my entire life! The filling/sweet potato is whipped to perfection! 10/10 definitely recommend.

From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, cute, and incredibly welcoming -- the kind of spot that instantly feels like your place. The drinks are on point. I've tried the iced coffee and the matcha, and both were excellent -- not overly sweet, not watered down, just really well done. But what truly won me over? The breakfast sandwiches. I had a croissant sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese, and it was chef's kiss -- fresh, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Not a single corner cut. And the service? Amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. That kind of hospitality is rare and it absolutely elevates the whole experience. This is officially my new coffee spot, hands down. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or sitting down for a full breakfast, do yourself a favor and check this place out. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING Was looking for a breakfast…read morespot and came across this place. It was about a 20 minute drive from home so I was hoping it was worth it. Walking in the ambiance was regular typical cafe. The customer service was traditionally basic. I ordered for 4ppl and when I arrived home I noticed my order was partially wrong. I ordered 2 bacon avocado toast, 1 avocado toast and a grilled cheese. They forgot the bacon on one of the avocado toast. And 2 of the 4 drinks weren't full. As I mentioned it was about a 20 minute drive so I just took the loss. The taste of the food was ok for 2 of the ppl other 2 ppl one being myself was kind turned off with the missing bacon and half full drinks so I basically trashed my meal. I'm aware humans make mistakes but that alone doesn't make me want to rush back to this location. I do want to mention something good about this place I did like how they dressed up the avocado toast with the egg on the side.

Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

A nominal wait, the meat were freshly sliced, and assembling the sandwich with plump & crisp vegetables, it was worth every minute of delay. The cashier was friendly & a pleasure to deal with, too.

I Luv Ur Buns, I super miss you!…read more Really glad we got to stop in one last time before the swan song. Your Satay with Me will stay with me forever. Though very much a forever fan of the Orange U Yummy and your Triple Buns Mix 7 match deal. Hot Honey Bun (V) style was a so so good. Global Flavors on Bao Buns for all the yum and then some not to mention those vegetable spring rolls, fries and load fries as well as bowls. Service on the last weekend was a perfect 10/10. The vibes and decor at SteelCraft where ILUB called home is still nothing but great, live music/djs, tvs with sports or local events and an open air covered food and hangout hub. Easy parking in on of their 2 lots, see signs. This sign will absolutely be missed.

It was a nice addition to the mini food court in Long Beach, but unfortunately, times got tough for them to the point where they had to pull the plug on their operations. I Luv Ur Buns was one of seven vendors at Steelcraft Long Beach on the southeast corner of Long Beach and Bixby. They had taken over the spot that used to be Waffle Love, and it was such a quick turnaround that on my first visit to Steelcraft Long Beach since the Waffle Love closure, I almost thought they seamlessly rebranded from waffles to bao buns lol. Signage was posted around the shipping container assigned to I Luv Ur Buns and even a signicade closer to Steelhead Coffee; the signs informed customers that they were closing and that the Sunday preceding Martin Luther King Jr Day would be their last day of business, which also happened to be the same day the LA Rams were playing in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs, so I almost thought Steelcraft would be jam-packed. Actually, no it wasn't even that busy, and there were several parking spots available just around Steelcraft. I definitely wanted to try a bao bun, but not a full dinner, so that left me with the two Global Flavors sections of the menu. One section was titled "Global Flavors on Bao Buns" where you basically get two bao buns. Don't think these bao buns are large by any means; I tried a couple at Sosogu sometime last year, and they're not that big either. They would have been the perfect size for a snack, but I was also curious about the other Global Flavors section, titled "Global Flavors with Rice or Fries". That section only has two line items: Mini Bowls and Loaded Fries. I didn't want fries, but when I asked about a Mini Bowl, I was informed that it was a deconstructed version of a bao bun with a small mound of rice. Wanting a little more variety, I went with the Bao Mi Mini Bowl. The menu did get a little confusing for me because I had noticed the (V), which usually stands for either vegan or vegetarian. However, they had several non-vegetarian items with (V), and that had me confused at first; like how is a bao bun with grilled pork belly vegetarian?? That's when the cashier, sporting a black nose ring, let me know that it can be ordered with a plant-based option, namely tofu. However, the cashier also mentioned the use of a shared fryer between their plant-based options and their regular options, so if you were strictly vegan, I'd think twice first. I asked how long the wait would be, and they estimated 10 minutes, which was pretty much spot on. I was given a pager that buzzed when my order was ready, and since there was plenty of space for me to eat, I was given a red tray with an "I Luv Ur Buns" sticker in the middle. The mini bowl was presented on a small tray, like one you'd use when you're giving out samples at a special event. I was also given a fork, which was another reason why I ordered a Mini Bowl over two bao buns as I wanted to keep my hands clean. Besides the grilled pork belly, the Bao Mi also comes with hoisin sauce, cucumber, jalapeno, onion, and cilantro. All of what I just mentioned tasted pretty good, though not necessarily as good as what I had at Sosogu last year. Then again, the Bao Mi is Vietnamese-style whereas Sosogu is Japanese, but between the two, which are the two cheapest options at $10, the Bao Mi was the most popular alongside their Korean-style, called Seoul on Fire. I'm pretty sure I would have liked Seoul on Fire better as it comes with Bulgogi beef, but the grilled pork belly was pretty good too. Just not as fatty as I would have liked. However, I didn't like their use of a wrapping paper between the tray and the food. That's because several grains of rice got stuck on the wrapping paper, and it was hard to pluck them off with my fork. As a result, it got kind of messy eating the mini bowl, and I almost thought I'd drop a piece of pork belly in the process! Luckily, I didn't, but I don't think that would be a problem with the bao buns since the bao bun from my mini bowl didn't stick to the wrapping paper at all. One thing I observed that I thought was kind of cool was witnessing the cashier hand deliver a tray of bao buns to an employee from Elio's Wood Fire Pizza, directly across from I Luv Ur Buns. I wouldn't say I love I Luv Ur Buns, but it made for a nice quick snack albeit a little pricey for a small bowl. I'm glad I gave them a try before they closed for good, and I made sure to bid them a proper adieu by returning the tray to them. They also had a small tray of I Luv Ur Buns stickers by their order window, so I made sure to pick up a couple as souvenirs. Thank you I Luv Ur Buns for serving the LBC for the past couple years, and sorry to see you go! Best wishes to Sonya, Mandy, and the rest of the team on their future endeavors.
