My husband took me to try for lunch today and it was l good. It's located in a food hall style area in Long Beach. I do wish I ate them fresh instead of driving home, but the flavor was delicious. I definitely also would ask for more grilled onions. I thought it was a little too little. Overall fast service and I love the food hall decor. And if possible, I would get the fries extra crispy. I get delivery from here regularly. Don't let these reviews lie to you. I always get the wagyu burger. The texture is noticeable from regular smash burgers if you get the triple patty option. It's greasy, but that's expected from a wagyu burger. For context similar non-wagyu would be 50-50 or 60-40 content to be similar, and they don't taste as "beefy". The bun ratio is not totally wild either, very balanced. Great with Swiss. Excellent burger. Their fries are hit or miss but when they hit, they're amazing. Highly recommend. Don't sleep. All the above arrived hot and toasty with my favorite being the East Coast for its savory flavors, bite from the horseradish aioli, and pillowy soft potato roll. My wife's beef melt was also tasty, though a notch below as the meat was a little dry and the ciabatta relatively tougher to chew. Nicely portioned and reasonably priced. I got dinner here the last time we were home in lbc. I ordered the loco moco poutine. I should have shared it with someone because it was HUGE! It was really tasty and filling. The fries could have been cooked better but the rest of the dish was so powerful you couldn't totally tell the fries were not cooked well. I love this area of the LBX. I love the Kroft. Have always got consistent food from their original Anaheim location. Had too much fun? Got some delicious short rib poutine to feed the need. Want something delicious? Get their cracklin' delish porchetta sandwich. So good and so delicious, but I digress. This isn't the Anaheim location, it's the Long Beach Exchange location. There's no oxtail poutine here, though fried curds are on the menu. Their fries here are delicious, always taste freshly fried. Their porchetta sandwich here unfortunately was not good. By not good, I mean it was dry and the cracklin's were small bite size and burnt. But I will tell you the best kept secret here. Their happy hour from 3-6pm on weekdays will get you half priced sides and beer. The other best kept secret is to take that beer and get it around 5pm and go outside and enjoy the live band. (Usually a single artist singing with a guitar) Use that money you saved and tip the artist for his talent. So although you won't find me here again with a sandwich in hand, you will find me with a couple of beers during the weekday and those garlic fries for $3 during HH. read more

You won't find Lara or a tomb here, but it's still a treasure trove. The Kroft is a concept that offers "comfort food reinvented" and it has proven a hit at another food hall space, the Anaheim Packing District. It's now trying to replicate its success at The Hangar at Long Beach Exchange. I went to The Hangar without a particular food destination in mind, but the poutine caught my eye as I glanced at the options listed here. That's not what I actually ordered though; my friend had already eaten while I was off beering, and rather than risk having to demolish an order of fries on my own, I kept looking at The Kroft's neighbors before circling back to this place on the Portola Coffee Roasters side of the building and realizing that they had a Porchetta sandwich ($10) on the menu. Upon asking them whether it was still available (because of the ominous "while supplies list" on the screen) and learning that it was, I immediately placed an order for it. The Porchetta wasn't the best which I'd eaten, but it was a tasty treat nonetheless. It was an ample portion for the price too. The bread was nicely chewy and hefty, and it did contain plenty of pork, but the cracklings were a bit less impressive than the amazing pork skin which I've enjoyed in other situations. Also, the arugula wasn't as strongly arugula-flavored as I would've liked. At least the salsa verde provided some interesting mild heat, even if it was a bit underwhelming compared to citrus-laden sauces of other porchetta sandwich recipes. (In case you haven't read this elsewhere, you can just sit anywhere inside the building with your food from here. Even at the bars.) I'll have to check out The Kroft's other offerings and maybe even their other location. Poutine is potentially excellent when executed properly, and the braised meat sandwiches sound like enticing alternatives to me. read more

We've seen The Kroft at the Anaheim packing house before, but I never wanted to try it cause I don't eat Porchetta. We chose to get something to eat here cause some of the venders were closed on a Sunday evening at The Hangar LBX. The menu had more varieties than I expected, they serve craft beer too. So while I was drinking craft beers at Bottlecraft, hubby got chicken Katsu curry poutine, fried chicken sandwich and Porchetta sandwich which was the last one that evening. The curry poutine had great flavors but the curry made some of the fries so mushy, and that's why I am never a fan of poutines. But I really liked the cheese curds and carrots in it. Sandwiches were fantastic that were so flavorful in huge portions. The prices were inexpensive for what we got. The Kroft is definitely a great comfort food choice, if you like meats and rich flavors you will absolutely love this vender! read more

Given how popular this place is, I'm surprised there are only four reviews so far. Out of all the places at The Hangar, this and Amorcito always seem to have the longest lines. If you're not here by 11 a.m., you may end up waiting for a while just to place an order. I tried the original location at the Anaheim Packing District when it first opened but wasn't too big of a fan back then. It may have been based on what I ordered at that time. I think I ordered the right item today to make me give it four stars. Place is mainly known for its poutines but I prefer to stick with its sandwiches. Poutines are just too heavy for me. Sandwiches here are heavy as well, but not quite as heavy as poutines. I went with East Coast Dip, and regular fries with habanero pineapple ketchup dipping sauce. East Coast Dip is basically a French Dip sandwich but made with pulled pork instead of beef. It also has broccoli rabe, pork jus for dipping, and horseradish mayo, on a French roll. The bread was soft and went well with the rich, tender pulled pork. I'm not quite sure about broccoli rabe in the sandwich though. It was rather bitter, and texture was mushy. I actually thought it was collard greens until I read the menu. The jus dipping sauce was good but I wish they would put it in a wider container. I had a tough time dipping my sandwich. I also ran out of jus sauce after eating about two thirds of my sandwich. Fries were pretty good, although I can't say they are the "best fries" as they claim. They seemed like they were double fried so the texture was pretty crispy. The habanero dipping sauce was really good. I think it's a store bought hot sauce mixed with ketchup because the hot sauce tasted very similar to a hot sauce I used to buy. read more

I went for the chicken parmesean poutine which was exactly how you'd expect except it had added fried cheese curds which is was so good! I always get the classic with extra gravy. (Amazing as always) This time when I went, I had an electronic coupon for one free side. I saw this amazing gooey picture of the flaming cheese curds, but when we went to pick up our order they switched it for the regular one. I guess they're popular! I was super super dissapointed with the cheese curds. There was no cheese. It was completely hollow breading and the cheese was crispy at the bottom (it was hard to tell what was burnt cheese and breading). I would have been even more dissapointed if I had paid for this. Just turn onto McGowen st. and it'll be like right next to RA YOGA on your lefthandside, you cant miss it. Parking might be tough to spot if you come around lunch or dinner time, but you'll be fine. Wasn't too impressed but the sandwich either as when I opened it seemed like someone just threw it together last minute, presentation was disappointing. On top of that the chicken was a bit dry.
