After Jeff installed the cage around the vent on the roof and removed the traps, the noise had stopped and I thought the problem was gone. However, the noises came back. The noise is intermittent and not every day. I called Jeff again August 25 and he came back out the next day. Since it had been two months, we had to pay the initial fee all over again. He didn't remember me until he was on his way out to the house, but I understand he deals with many customers. He checked around the roof again and saw no points of entry. Only a very small hole near the gutters. He thought it must be mice and did throw the poison we already had up in the attic opening for me. He didn't set traps because he might catch a random squirrel that isn't the attic resident (and we would have to pay per animal that is trapped). He also didn't seem like he could climb up into the attic opening. The noise seemed to go away again, but now I keep hearing something off and on at least four times since he was here. The noise is usually during the day and doesn't sound like mice to me, but of course it rarely makes noise when someone else is around. Jeff is a nice guy and I appreciate him coming out, but I am at a loss as to what to do since my problem still isn't resolved. I am not saying I would not recommend him, but for my particular issue, I need someone that can actually get into the attic and assess exactly what has taken up residence in there. It gives me a very uneasy feeling not knowing what it is or what sort of damage it is doing. But having spent a few hundred altogether so far, I don't know what steps to take without racking up a bill we can't afford. Docking stars on this updated review because I feel kind of left hanging.

Not living anywhere near, I immediately went to Yelp for help. Not only was Code Green Pest Solutions the only company with 5 star reviews, he was the first to respond to my quote inquiry. Travis was amazing. His price was more than fair, he talked with me directly the entire time from start to finish (and he spent a couple of hours there longer than anticipated), and sent me both before and after pictures of his work. He also tried to close-up the holes as best he was able to. Added bonus: the multiple nests caused exterior damage. Travis graciously chatted with me about it and sent me the name of someone he trusts to give us a good quote and do quality work. We got out of there as soon as we could, but it was traumatizing to say the least! Fast forward to December 2024: My husband and I were so excited to buy our first house, but were devastated when the inspection report showed evidence of rodent activity in the crawlspace; we very nearly backed out of the sale. Thankfully, we decided to give AMS a call, having heard positive reviews from others. I had the pleasure of speaking with Corey (a co-owner of AMS), who was very understanding and sympathetic about our predicament. He assured me that AMS would conduct a thorough inspection of our new house and would provide a detailed remediation plan, including sanitizing the crawlspace and installing bait boxes that wouldn't be dangerous for our dog if she were to (god forbid!) eat a mouse or rat that had ingested the bait. It was a HUGE relief! I later ended up speaking with Brandy (the other co-owner of AMS and Corey's wife) as well, and she was also very reassuring and answered all of my questions. We had a great experience when they came out to help with a chipmunk that was entering our home…read morethrough an exterior wall. They gave a detailed estimate and, at my request, gave other recommendations for the full house. It was easy to pick and choose among the various options they offered. They set up a one-way door so the chipmunk could get out but not go back in. They waited a week to ensure it was likely gone, then came back and sealed up the area. They gave me a 4 hour arrival window so I had to clear my schedule for half a day and work from home. On arrival, the worker came in with a ladder..,I said the raccoon was under the deck so a ladder wouldn't be needed. He seemed surprised that I just wanted to focus on the raccoon vs a whole house inspection. So...basically, I paid $175 for him to confirm that the raccoon was entering through the spot I knew it was using. He did take no for an answer and didn't try too hard on the upselling. The proposal was for a full exclusion (fencing 12 inches down and out all around the deck and room) and a few extras....there was also going to be a charge for any animal caught..,,including squirrels, etc....and I was going to be responsible for checking the traps and calling them before 6AM every day...I was easily going to be over $3000 for a raccoon that just needed to be evicted. And....the proposal didn't even include sealing the hole used for entry....the second company I had come out said the rest of the room and deck were secure and that there was only the one entry point. I cut my losses with the $175. If you want a whole house exclusion done, for all potential critters, this likely would be a good company, but I wouldn't recommend for a focused job.
