I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. And it's worth the wait. There's a new bar, so one can sit there and enjoy a drink or a meal. That's nice. There's a new (I don't know what to call it) "dessert deli"? Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. But they are adjacent to acres of parking in the shopping center. So they run a golf cart in a loop, picking up and dropping off diners who park in the satellite lot. Wow! That's service. The restaurant business is tough. And endless number of ways to fail. But the Brick House Diner is doing everything right! PS: In a time when restaurant prices seem to be out of control, BHD is doing a great job keeping prices as low as they can. For the meal I had, I've paid 10 to 25% more at other, similar venues. So, hats off to BHD for cost control!

The first thing you see when you arrive is the bustling English style pub area that features a large assortment of craft brews and a fully stocked bar. The team at Brickhouse will make you feel welcome shortly after you arrive. There is seating in the pub area, but for a more intimate dining experience, I recommend seating in the cozy dining area just a step down from the pub. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. I had the grilled mahi mahi with lemon dill butter over some roasted fingerling potatoes and corn. While the fish itself was a nice piece and well prepared, its not-quite-warm temperature made it less appetizing to eat. The same was true for our other meals: the seafood pot pie and the mahi mahi fish tacos. While our waitress offered to have them all reheated, we both didn't have time as we had theatre tickets and reheating the tacos with their toppings, the pot pie with its pastry crust, and the seared fish didn't sound appealing. The restaurant's dining room was comfortable, and the bar area looked vibrant. Hopefully they are still breaking in their new facility, as we liked dining with them in their previous location.

Everything was incredibly delicious. The entire restaurant is spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. The staff was very helpful and took the time to explain the menu. We also had espresso martinis--the non-creamy version--which were excellent as well. We will certainly be back for another visit within the month.

During our most recent meal, we enjoyed the blood orange martinis, the ham and mozzarella appetizer, short ribs, fish special, and crepes dessert, plus a bottle of pinot noir. The restaurant bills a 3.5% surcharge to support the kitchen staff. I would much rather see that incorporated into the menu prices. I don't understand why it's separate. I understand providing a competitive edge to staff, just build it into the prices.
