There's a drink menu at the entrance and near the entrance once inside. The entrees we ordered were the fajita quesadilla with steak. The steak tasted peppery so if you like peppered steak-you might want to try that.. if you decide to carry out ask for the tortilla on the side so you won't go home with a soggy quesadillas. Tasty beans and fluffy rice, DELICIOUS. The red salsa was mild. The white sauce was slightly sweet. The veggie fajitas were loaded with green beans, potatoes, and a lot of veggies which increase my energy levels- no groggy feeling AT ALL and I recommend the corn tortillas for all of the gluten free peeps. The food has degraded a lot, and the service always seems rushed, even when the restaurant is incomplete. My biggest complaint is that it is obvious that they are precooking a lot of the vegetables. My wife ordered Fajitas, and the vegetables were old and limp like they had been sitting over heat for some time. The meat was more than likely pre-cooked as well. The skillet had a little sizzle, but it was just heated. We have been coming to this restaurant for several years, and when it first opened, the food was good, and the staff was very friendly and service-oriented. I very much enjoyed my time here. We were celebrating my niece's birthday and it was suggested we come here, and I was very excited as this was my first time. The drinks were great and HUGE!!! Also the food portions size was impeccable, I couldn't finish mine definitely enjoyed the left overs though ! I loved the customer service and, the gentlemen serving us was the waiter AND the bartender on a busy Saturday night, but still managed to be attentive and kind, this guy was a saint! Being new to the area, it was time to go out for dinner. After some debate, we landed on El Caporal. This was a good choice. Special of the evening was a Purple Margarita. Well, the margarita was more green than purple, but the strength of this drink more than made up for the color. Who buys drinks for the color anyway? Unless it's a Blue Hawaiian. This place is a completely contactless restaurant. Hell, we didn't know. The waiter comes over and asks if we're ready to order. My response? How about a menu? Then he points to a QR code on the table. Ding ding ding. Big dummy I ordered what was called Fajitas con Chorizo. It was fajitas with Chicken, Steak and Chorizo. I thought it sounded like an interesting combo, so I tried it. And, I was pleasantly surprised. Very good!!! The chorizo was slightly spicy, which worked nicely with the chicken. On our way out the door, there was a line of waiting customers around the corner and GrubHub orders lined the entire bar (bar closed due to COVID-19). Couldnt have a small salsa n white sauce even though we paid $6.50 for extra chips. When you eat inside they give you as much chips n salsa n white sauce as you want. TACO TUESDAY! To be honest, I have not been here other than on Tuesdays when they have their $1 tacos. For their special, you have to order a soft drink in order to be eligible for the deal. Totally worth it. When I got $1 taco specials at other places, I was always disappointed with how small, how flavorless, or how little filling was in the tacos. The food is always good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The last couple times we have been there the service has really taken a turn towards the gutter. Our waitress basically disappears after our food is brought out, drinks run empty by the time she came back around we had already asked another server for refills and for our check. This time when we left the tip at the front we made sure the tip reflected the service and as we were leaving the hostess who cashed out our check made a derogatory comment towards my girlfriend under here breath, which I heard. Unfortunately we will no longer be going to this restaurant, we have been regulars at El Cap for many years but will not be returning. Well let me start off by saying they we're having a special on margaritas and I ordered a large for $8. I didn't think I'd get much for that price and that's fine. But when it came out, it was like a BOWL of margarita. Huge, HUGE amount. And tasted so good frozen. For dinner, I ordered the quesadilla Del Mar. The quesadilla was huge and stuffed with big shrimp and scallops grilled to perfection, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, refried beans and cheese sauce. Perfection. I usually just open the quesadilla and eat the food inside because it's really big. My dinner companions ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, which is not cold shrimp around a glass with cocktail sauce, I found out! It's kind of like a gazpacho with shrimp and avocado and she said it was the best she's ever had (she was from out of town). My son ordered fried chimichangas and he said they were good, but he wished he'd gotten what I did, which he got last time! Chips were fresh and the salsa and white sauce here is perfection.
