The swordfish was superb and the seafood pasta surprised me by being spicy and delicious (I haven't found many spicy dishes here in New England). A friend and I made 11:15 brunch reservations and arrived around 10:45am to grab a coveted parking spot. We stood in line with the pre-opening crowd and were seated early (and on the patio)! much to our delight. We had plans for brunch fair but the specials were too good to pass up so we had lunch and cocktails instead. The server was a total sweetheart and took my friends food allergy very seriously (he even went so far as to check behind the bar and read the labels to ensure no cross-contamination or secret ingredients). It was a wonderful experience and we were in and out of there in what seemed like a very relaxing 45 minutes. First time dining in especially hearing they changed the chef and menu recently. Take out stopped being offered a few times which made us more curious. We were seated right away for our 5:15 reservations on Memorial Day. The hostess allowed us to move our seats so we didn't have to experience a draft. For drinks we had a glass of Prosecco, rose and Sauvignon blanc during our entrees and coffee with baileys for dessert. The coffee was mixed very well along with a spray of whip cream (but no cinnamon for those who care). We shared a lobster "stew" which was more like a watered down bisque with a few pieces of lobster. It tasted decent and was even better with the garlic rolls. So good we asked for another basket for our entrees. We shared the seafood pasta, lobster ravioli and pressed chicken. The seafood pasta was supposed to be fra diavolo sauce but lacked the strong aromatic tastes and spice that is typical for the dish. The sauce was also watery and the pasta was oddly shaped/difficult to pick up using our forks. The lobster ravioli sauce was good but more so resembled a dumpling/shumai given the thin layer of pasta and blended lobster mixing. Pressed chicken was probably the best dish as it was moist and paired with a brown sauce for extra flavoring. Mushrooms and puréed parsnip were perfect side dishes I wish I could have more of. For desserts we shared the cream ice cream and banana tart. The ice cream was a pleasant surprise as it wasn't as heavy as I'd thought. The banana tart had a flakey crust and warm banana filling. Overall the food was decent but the service was lacking. Our waiter rarely came by our stable but would stand on the other side of the room by the kitchen over looking everything. When placing orders he'd walk away before asking if anyone else wanted anything. He even was tapping his leg at one point as if he was ready to walk away at any moment. Given the price point of this establishment I would have assumed service would have been more accommodating. However, the bus boys and the hostess in the beginning were incredibly attentive so it can depend on your server. Overall mixed feelings about this place, not sure if it's worth the trip coming back. We were especially surprised for being charged an additional $3 for "extra bread" which were 4 small rolls given the whole check was well over $150 for 3 people. read more

The worst restaurant I've ever been to. The food was honestly disgusting and I am not picky. I had two black hairs baked into the haddock. (Picture attached) On top of that, the waiter accidentally spilled the plates he was carrying on myself and my purse. Totally ok- I know accidents happen. He was very apologetic, but It is an expensive bag that was now stained with red marinara sauce from our calamari appetizer. After all of this, the manager apologized and brought over the check for us to pay! We had only ordered one drink and two appetizers at this point & sent back our entrees due to the hairs. Absolutely insane customer service! The owner was there and didn't even bother to come over to our table. On the way out, he asked us to give them another try and said "I'm not sure what happened today". Our waiter was very kind and attentive but the customer service from the management was awful. Went to dinner last night and had our 2 dogs with us. The staff was so nice to us and our dogs. The covered patio was perfect. The absolute best thing about this experience was the server, Rory. We made reservations for lunch and were promptly seated upon arrival. Its a cozy space, a little tight. Our server was funny, attentive, and kind. Made some jokes that I am positive he's made dozens of times before, but they were new to us, and we loved them. The fried green beans were a terrific appetizer, and my fish and chips was good - not spectacular, but solid. My kiddo had a BLT salad and liked it, and our companions enjoyed their clam chowder and chicken sandwich. BLUF: Do not go here for food... drinks maybe if you can sit outside on a nice day We ordered two drinks, mussels, swordfish, and the fish of the day (red snapper). The mussels were good (4/5), however, the entrees were very disappointing. Both the swordfish and the snapper were bland and not of the quality you'd expect for $30+. The service was fine, but given the meal was a $75/person it left much to be desired. Definitely not a restaurant worth traveling for. If you're a well off townie then I'm sure it's great. We loved this place that we decided to drive all the way from Boston just to go again to this bar. This is the second time me and my friend visited this bar expecting a friendly service as well. When we arrived, there was another bartender serving us. He was just standing in the corner staring outside and we have to raise our hand to catch his attention so we can order a drink. Looks like he is just waits for his shift to end. That is understandable and we just keep chatting, not making this a big deal. Another bartender replaced him and she seems more active but acting with unfriendly attitude towards us. Our afternoon was still good despite all of this but we were so surprised when they decided to tell us that they don't want to serve us anymore and I asked why but all she said was it is her manager's instruction. I really don't understand. We are not loud, we are not interacting with other customers, we are just chatting casually like the rest. I looked around, feel ashamed, and realized that we seem to don't belong in the place. My friend was asking me "is it because we're different?" And I only responded "No" as denial defense. This is the first time I feel this - the fear of being discriminated. We walked out quietly pretending we're okay. I hope I was wrong about this but I also will never recommend to visit this place. I hope that the good people working in this restaurant will find better place. I have no bad comments about the food and drinks but our experience here will leave a mark in our minds. Quaint seafood restaurant on the docks in Marblehead. The food was delicious, but slightly overpriced. It seemed as though the prices and food didn't match the atmosphere. It was more casual than expected until you get the bill. Buyer-beware when ordering something where the price isn't listed here. But the food was really good, everyone LOVED their meal. The service wasn't the best. It took forever for us to order and then our food took an obscene amount of time. It wasn't even that crowded on the day we went. I don't understand the current Yelp rating. The Landing was a pleasure. Perhaps the "new" chef is the reason. The grilled salmon was the best. Perfectly cooked. The Caesar Salad was dressed so nicely. Combined it was a great dinner. My companion had the pan seared haddock and parsnips (offered as deconstructed fish and chips) and it was enjoyed. The martini still very professional, the tomato-squash soup quite beautifully presented. But then came what I had trusted would be the legendary lobster roll of old. It was puny, on a common hotdog roll, and made up of what had to be chick fragments. The first taste from a fork had some flavor, but try as I might, with all the good will I could muster, I could not find a shred of flavor in it. IT WAS PRICED AT $38.00. I told my waitress, who talked to the manager. They comp'd the $15 soup. I could have had a "better"one from Stop & Shop for $9. Resting on their past laurels? Absolutely love this place. Food is wonderful and very consistent. Never have had a problem. Wait staff are so cheerful and attentive. The owner is always around and welcomes everyone personally. Came here Sunday for brunch. if you want to sit on the deck overlooking the water you better get here right when they open. We were lucky to get a corner seat in the gorgeous sun. The spritzes were tasty and refreshing. We had the curry mussels which were so good and the mussels were huge. I had the veggie omelet which was pretty good, I kinda would like more than just peppers and onions for a "veggie" omelet. Hubby had the bacon eggs benny and the eggs were poached perfectly.
