Worst bloody mary I've ever had! $41 for some seafood slapped onto a drink. The lobster still had it's digestive track left for me to eat! Yay what a treat! The only redeeming this was the view. Staff was cold!

Where do I even start with this restaurant . Amazing staff Amazing service, And amazing food. . Honestly if I could get fresh oyster to try this would definitely be the place. Very very nice place to go with a good view. This place would definitely be my go backs if I go back to Salem. Recommend the lobster roll very fresh and warm with a buttery dressing. The burger was tasteful with the side of fries. Let's talk about the baked mussels absolutely amazing!

WOW the seafood was fresh and delicious! Excellent oysters and giant shrimp, and I highly recommend the lobster taquitos!! They are large enough to split. It was a little noisy downstairs with not much to look at. Definitely recommend upstairs with a view of the harbor. They seemed understaffed this friday night- we were served by the bartender who made me some excellent dirty gin martinis. Check out the rest of the drink menu for fun! Crazy loaded bloody mary on there and some yummy looking seasonal rotating cocktails.

Had the fresh oysters at Sea Level Oyster Bar and they were excellent--clean, flavorful, and super fresh - And at only $1.50 each? Hard to beat. The clam chowder was very tasty too! The service was great and they were very nice. Definitely coming back.

If you're looking for a great seafood place that is off the beaten path, especially during the peak of Halloween craziness, Sea Level Oyster Bar is that. The restaurant has two levels, we were quickly seated upstairs during their lunch rush. We're big fans of local brews and oysters - which Sea Level delivers on. We had 3 different types of oysters - all of which were excellent. We split an order of fried calamari, drunken sailor clams and fish tacos. The fried calamari had cherry peppers, so beware of a kick, the drunken sailor clams is an absolute must, and the fish tacos were solid but a bit on the dry side. All of our food was great, our waitress was attentive and we had beautiful views of the harbor. If we're ever back in the Salem area, we've both agreed Sea Level will be our first stop.

Last September, my girlfriends and I visited Salem for a witchy adventure. We decided to go with the flow and pick the first restaurant we saw as we explored the area. Fortunately, luck was on our side because we ended up loving our lunch! We shared oysters and a variety of tacos, and they were not only delicious, but the experience was enjoyable despite the longer-than-usual wait caused by our order being accidentally sent to the wrong table. The bartender was great and treated us well while we waited. It was a beautiful day, so we also enjoyed our meal outside. If I return to Salem, I would definitely go back!

Service was fantastic. A storm Was quickly approaching and servers and customers all worked together to pull down the plastic side walls for the outdoor deck. The view from the deck is peaceful and creates a nice nautical setting to the great food and drink! I liked my spicy mocktail and when I asked if the seared scallops dish could be put on top of pasta, the server and kitchen created a completely new fish for me not on the menu. That is how you meet the needs of your customers. I would love to go back!

The weather was perfect and the outdoor patio was the perfect spot to enjoy with our pup. Food was average but service was excellent and extremely dog friendly. Our waitress even made a little pup mocktail for our dog with water and strawberries. Overall, an a-okay spot to stop especially with a dog.

Typical east coast seafood bar and restaurant with a great view of the water and all the vibes you'd expect. Oysters were very very fresh! Clam chowder was really great too. The lobster roll was good, but I've had many better ones in Boston. However, kudos to the generous lobster portions!

It was our first trip to Massachusetts, and while exploring Salem, a local recommended we stop at Sea Level for lunch. We took their advice and made the short walk to the wharf--and we're so glad we did! We were warmly greeted by Emma, who was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. She suggested a few of her favorites, and they did not disappoint. We started with oysters--three East Beach Blonde from Rhode Island and three from Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Both were fresh and flavorful, but the East Beach were my personal favorite. For our main course, we shared the Roasted Haddock with potatoes and vegetables. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also couldn't resist ordering the clam chowder--because, well... Boston! It was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. While the food was amazing, what really stood out was the combination of exceptional service and the laid-back, coastal vibe. It made the entire experience memorable. Sea Level is definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone visiting Salem!

It smells like fish in here! Haha and that's a great sign! They have a stunning view of the Salem Harbor and our servers were very kind. We went with the oyster platter and some nachos and cheese, along with a mocktail. While I didn't eat the oysters, my brother really enjoyed them and I loved my nacho spread with all the different dips! If you're in a mood to try some new things or already love fresh fish, then this place is for you! If we're ever back in town, we will surely stop in again to indulge in some different menu options!

Stopped in for some oysters and they were great! Service was amazing. We sat outside and it was beautiful to look out at the water.

Beautiful view of the water, casual environment, kind servers, and the freshest seafood I've had in Massachusetts. We had the clams, mussels and fried oysters.

Hey there! Does anyone know if Sea level allows customers to have their luggage with them while they are seated eating? Or even outside to eat? Our rental would not allow us to drop off luggage before it was ready.. Thanks!

Yes, it seemed casual enough to allow that. Plus they have a front desk where they might be able to store the items for you.

Is there a dollar oyster special? Any happy hour special? Thanks

Not when I was there they only had drink and pizza specials and they do not appear to have a happy hour menu.

After waiting about 20 minutes, we were finally seated. Despite that rocky start, the food was so outstanding that we ended up coming back every single day during our stay in Salem. The biggest inconsistency was the service. Out of the four days we visited, only one day stood out as having exceptional service. Most of the time we had to flag someone down for drink refills, order more oysters, ask for Parmesan cheese, or even leave our credit card hanging off the edge of the table before someone would notice we were ready to pay. Now, onto the food because that's what kept bringing us back. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were the true stars of the menu. These are the kinds of soups you'll still be thinking about long after your vacation is over. The lobster bisque was unbelievably rich, creamy, and packed with generous pieces of lobster. The clam chowder had the perfect consistency and, unlike so many others, was loaded with tender clams instead of mostly potatoes. The one-and-a-half-pound lobster was sweet, tender, and practically melted in my mouth. I wasn't in love with my pasta dish. The scallops, however, completely stole the show. They tasted as though they had been pulled from the ocean just moments before being cooked perfectly fresh, sweet, and delicate. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was undercooked and lacked flavor, even after the Parmesan cheese finally arrived. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect dessert on a hot Fourth of July afternoon. It was light, fresh, and exactly what we wanted to finish the meal. And the oysters? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single day. They were consistently fresh, delicious, and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. While the service has plenty of room for improvement, the kitchen is doing something truly special. The quality of the seafood alone was enough to make us return day after day, and that's about the highest compliment I can give a restaurant.
