I was originally recommended to Maya, the owner, and she's the one who did my brows on my most recent visit--and she did an amazing job. The other two times, different staff members took care of me, and even then, I had no complaints. Each time, the shaping was clean, flattering, and consistent. They are decently priced--I believe I paid $12 for my eyebrows, plus an additional tip. For the quality of work, I think it's very fair. It would be great if they introduced some sort of membership or rewards program for frequent visitors; that would definitely add value. The only downside is that every time I've gone in, there's only been one person working. The wait can be long, especially during busy hours. It would really help if they hired more staff to keep up with demand. Outside of the wait, though, the results keep me coming back. If you're thinking about trying them out, I definitely recommend it--just try to go early or during off-peak hours if you're in a rush!

I went to Unique on a Friday at about 1:00, and it was busy. It was about a 20-minute wait, but there was only one lady working. She was friendly, quick, and attentive. After each customer, she wiped down the seat and sanitized her hands. She wore gloves and a mask. I wish I would have gotten this lady's name because it was pretty obvious she had a following. Almost all of the customers ahead of me and waiting while I was getting threaded seemed to be regulars. After I was threaded, the lady trimmed my brows, applied aloe for the potential redness and irritation, and then filled in my brows with some brow powder since she was too busy to give me a brow tint. Honestly, I thought the powder filler was a really nice touch. I don't know where she learned how to thread, but it's as if her touch was blessed by fairies or some otherworldly entity because she was so gentle. I didn't feel the thread raking across my skin, and I didn't tear up as the hair was being pulled out. I could barely feel a thing. This woman was a threading ninja. Pro tip: I was told they are always busy from noon to 2:00, and then 5:00 and after, so plan accordingly if you don't want to wait.

I called on the day and the lady is able to get me in within the next 2 hours unlike a lot of beauty salon where you ha be to book days ahead. This is great for my emergency waxing. It's a small beauty shop but cozy. I did an underarm waxing and the lady was very fast. It didn't hurt at all. In the end, there were a few tiny tiny hair that cannot be removed by wax, I suggested plugging them, but the lady did threading! Threading is a traditional hair removal technics in Asia and it's very traditional. Even in Asia where I am from, not many people know how to do it anymore. So I was very impressed by it. You can tell she enjoys doing this and takes pride in her work. She isn't someone just going through the motions. I am very impressed with my brows and the overall experience. A little run down of what happens - you make a consult appointment and then go in for the consult. She explains the process and actually outlines the areas where your brows should be. If you decide to proceed, you then make an appointment for the microblading. This appointment takes approx. 1 1/2 hours. I will admit that it is slightly uncomfortable when she first starts but she then adds a numbing cream and you can no longer feel it. You then make your appt for approx 6 weeks for a fill. Riki gives you a detailed sheet with what to expect and do over the next few weeks. She also gives you the items needed for the initial few weeks - cleanser, ointment to be applied. You cannot exercise to where you sweat for 2 weeks - you've been warned ladies! LOL - this part was a little frustrating for me but I got my run done in the morning before going and just knew what to expect and thought about long term and how I didn't want to impact the look, plus I just spent all of that money, there was no way I was damaging her awesome work! The second week, I had a little flaking and they were a little itchy. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend going here, if you are considering microblading.
