Wanted to share what a wonderful time and experience I had at Evan Michael's salon. I moved to Watertown last year and tried several salons to find a new stylist. I ended up with my hair way too black and all different variations in my color. So I decided to try Syracuse and googled and liked what I read about Evan Michaels. I had an appointment with with Brittany. She did a long consultation and went over specifically (and scientifically) what we will be doing to solve my hair problem. She also consulted with the owner Kasey on plan to restore my color. Brittany spent so much time with different products to remove color and then got it perfect. Also received a great haircut from her and fabulous blow dry with their L'anza products. I am so pleased with my hair and so grateful for all the work they did to fix my hair. We had a lot of laughs also during my time there. Wonderful atmosphere and highly recommend. The picture is the next morning after I slept on my hair. It was even more fabulous last night. read more

Hi. I am a student that attends Syracuse University and I get eyelash extensions all the time in Los Angeles. I went to Allie and I paid $175 for volume lashes for my appointment on Wednesday at 5. I took this photograph the same week Friday at 10 am. I asked if she could touch them up and she told me I needed to pay $20 more dollars. I would not continue to do lashes here I don't think the technicians are trained well enough for the amount they charge. read more

On a whim I reached out to the salon for a minimal trim. I didn't think I needed a haircut as I've been growing it for years with no issues- then Ashleigh gave me the intervention I needed. She was caring and sympathetic to the fact that I was so uncertain about getting it cut. Let me tell you, she gave me one of the best hair cuts I've ever had. It's absolutely perfect. The salon itself is GORGEOUS and super clean. The whole staff was extremely welcoming and so friendly towards every customer. I can't thank them enough for such a positive experience! read more

Finding the right stylist is sometimes an impossible task. When I came to Ashleigh I was afraid that she would be like all of the others and do an "ok" job. I honestly thought that I had damaged my hair from years of coloring and that it could never be returned to a healthy happy state...AND THEN ASHLEIGH WORKED HER MAGIC! Best hair salon in town!! This place has become another home to me before I was recommended this place my hair was getting to a point of no return with damage breaking off close to the root, it all around needed healthy direction and change completely. When I came into this place of course scared with not having gone to a hairdresser since middle school (especially with having crazy ethnic hair) you feel very limited in places to go in general but Kasey and her whole staff were so inviting and EXTREMELY educated in HEALING the hair yes a lot of places are good at making your hair look good but with this place your hair not only looks GREAT but is actually healthy. My hair is visibly growing through the damage in the shortest amount of time I have ever seen it bounce back yet. My hair literally has NEVER looked this good. These ladies are so genuine and truly know how to handle all hair types. They're always one step ahead at just knowing what to do with my hair before I even know myself. This is only the beginning!!! I scheduled an appointment with the owner Kasey for Friday, 12/30 so that I'd have a fresh color for a New Year's Eve Party, and when I arrived at the salon it was closed. I made the appointment in the Salon at my previous appointment, which was my first appointment with Kasey. I left a few messages Friday and Saturday, hoping they'd be open so I could get my hair done. I also left a Facebook message. I did not get a response to my Facebook message. Her assistant called me Tuesday, January 3rd. I asked her assistant what happened, and she stated that they called a few times and left me a few messages about having to cancel my appointment. When I questioned which days they called, the assistant told me they called Wednesday 12/28 and left only one message (not a few like she said). I didn't get their message. When I looked at my cell phone log, I did not have any incoming calls from the salon. I also asked the assistant why my appointment got cancelled and she stated because I was the only appointment that day. I rescheduled my appointment as I wanted to speak with Kasey, as I thought maybe the assistant was covering up her mistake. When I spoke with Kasey her story was the same as her assistant's. I told her that I had my phone log with me and that it doesn't show any incoming calls from the salon. All she said was "that's weird." She did give me a discount, which resulted in a bill of $65. She didn't do a cut or highlight. She left the color as it was and put something over my hair that took out the yellowish color that was from my previous color with her. It wasn't much. I wasn't looking for her to give me a monetary discount. I was looking for her to tell me the truth, which was that they just canceled my appointment without letting me know. I will not go back. She was very unprofessional, and demonstrated no concern for her clients . I strongly do not recommend this stylist or salon. read more

I recently went looking for a new salon as I felt my current stylist wasn't meeting my needs. I found the Evan Michaels Salon here on Yelp and decided since they were in my neighborhood to give them a try. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building, as well as parking on the street. I made an appointment with Kasey for a cut, color and highlights. She gave me an expert consult, explaining that my dark color would mean that she would have to tone any highlights to the color of red I wanted. She mixed the color of highlight 'red' to the shade that was just beautiful. Also, the 'dated' cut I had was transformed into an edgy, gorgeous cut with movement that was perfect. Many of the clients coming in had long hair, so I was concerned if they could give me the updated short 'do I wanted. But Kasey came through with a beautiful modern cut worthy of a catwalk turn! If you are looking for a salon that can give you quality results, this is your place. The decor of the salon is beautiful with comfortable chairs, coffee, wine or water to relax you while you wait, and a wonderful shampoo and scalp massage that adds to the experience. I was so pleased with my results that I immediately booked another appointment. I have found my new salon. Other services are offered such as facials and such. This place is worth every penny. You won't be disappointed. read more
