Love this place! The Last Drop started as the convenient bar around the corner where we could grab a quick drink but has become our go-to bar, our own personal Cheers. If you go on the earlier side, you can almost always find a seat and the bar is full of regulars. If you get there after 12am there is a completely different crowd - lots of people trying to get in an extra hour of drinking, so it does get crowded pretty quickly. Get there a little earlier and claim your seat at the bar and won't be bothered much by the crowds. And even with the crowds, there is never a line for the bathroom, which is a bonus. We love the bartenders. Went in on the early side a couple times when it wasn't super busy and we got to talking with the bartenders and now we'll go in for a drink just so we can chat with Mike or Christina or Kevin (everyone else is great, too). They definitely treat their regulars really well and make a point to remember you but they also make sure everyone who comes in gets served quickly. We came in after our engagement party a few weeks ago and they had balloons and champagne for us! The staff really are awesome. Don't judge this place on the 12-2am crowds cause it is a much different experience earlier in the evening. Oh, and while the beer selection isn't huge, they usually have a few different beers to try so you're not stuck with the basic drafts you get everywhere else. And the prices are really reasonable. read more

Maybe it's because I'm not one of the 19 or so regulars, but this place pours a very weak drink for a terrible price. The guy running the bar should be ashamed of himself. Bad vibe, obviously poorly managed. You need to treat your customers better read more

I don't know what that last review was talking about. Yes this place is a dive, tends to have strict entrance rules and a random group of patrons but its fun and totally kicked back. I have been here a bunch of times and have seen people of all ethnicities, genders, ages and sizes let in. I know for a fact that some people are not allowed in if they have given the bar trouble. I know this b/c I witnessed this. A guy who drank too much got a little pushy with a friend of mine (who by the way, is not occasion and the guy was). We didn't even have to say anything to the staff before the bouncer saw it from across the room and kicked the guy out. It's comforting to see a bar that doesn't put up with bull shit from D-Bag customers trying to bring the vibe down. I wouldn't say this is the classiest bar in the area but I don't think they deserve a reputation as a racist place. Drinks are cheap, bar tenders are friend and attentive (expect for one girl who had attitude once). The place is always packed with drunk people and I commend the doormen for having to put up with that crap. read more

Great place. It is literally a room with a bar, but thats fine. They know what they are and don't pretend to be anything they're not. Pool, Darts, and Golden Tee are fun ways to stay entertained while drinking with friends. Plenty of TVs and a good beer selection. They dont serve food but you can order delivery or bring food there and the staff will gladly let you eat at the bar or one of the tables. How cool is that? Gets really busy late night (especially on weekends) but I love going here early in the week to relax and have a few cold ones read more

I never have been thrown out or NOT ALLOWED into a bar for no reason before. Two of my friends and I decided to go get some drinks in Brookline, a couple hours after the Sox game got out. So we take an Über right to the bar and get out. Upon walking to the door, we get asked "where are you coming from?" To which we respond "Fenway." By this exchange, the bouncer deemed us unworthy of his and the bar"s time. He told us that we had " enough" like a condescending prick, and we were not allowed in. I can only speculate as to why, but my guess is that because my friends and I don't have vaginas, we weren't allowed in. Keep in mind, this is Brookline, not the North End. The Last Drop is the worst bar in the entire state of Massachusetts. An absolute joke. A 24 year old was denied because they supposedly "didn't look like their IDs" after providing at least 5 backup identifications. The service is incredibly rude- I can not imagine how the bouncers could treat any person so poorly. I am disgusted by this experience and hope that no other person has to go through this. Never have i been so disrespected! The bar tenderers are rude and unresponsive. I asked for a group of shots for a friends going away and he was rude and very slow. After poor service my bill was thrown in my face (literally) and when I didn't approve of the service he told me "you should keep this, you need it more". I too work in the restaurant business and i would never expect patrons to visit again with the lack of respect and professionalism that I experienced. With the amount of bars in Boston Im surprised that the last drop has gotten away with their rude and disrespectful demeanor! I will never go there again and I will definitely spread the word! I went out on a Saturday night with a group of 12 friends. We chose The Last Drop because we wanted to try a new spot. It was a terrible experience. The door man was rude and inexperienced. His inexperience was proven when he did not allow a 24 year old friend of mine into the bar who had a Massachusetts state ID and 5 additional forms of identification. The manager (I believe his name was Mike) was rude and utterly useless. We all left and went to The Green Briar right up the street where we were treated with respect by the employees and had great time. read more

I also had a negative experience with the bouncer telling members of my group that we were too drunk to get in. None of us had had too much to drink, and frankly I was surprised that the bouncer was so flippant. I don't recommend coming here to go out drinking, even though I have no idea why else you would go to a bar here in the first place. read more

Have frequented this bar many many times in the four years I have lived in Brighton. The lady bartender is quite rude. My friend found a drunk girl passed out in the bathroom stall and told the blond bartender but couldn't be bothered saying that happens a lot oh well. I don't think they care about making the customer happy as long as your tab is open. It's a shame because I really like this place but I don't think I will ever return due to the bartenders attitude and bouncer behavior. read more

A total dive but I love it! Although there is no kitchen, the staff allow you to bring food in from local restaurants! A good compromise. The beer selection isn't extensive but they rotate a good amount of different brews and have specials that run from time to time. The place gets hoppin' around 11:30 or midnight on the weekends. Only problem I have is that they show sporting events on their TVs but blast music instead of putting the game on the sound system. read more

Having a good time! Bouncer who is young kept creating problems for no apparent reason. So I did ask him if he was drinking... He felt disrespected. I assume? but putting me out with excessive force wasn't necessary! I waited until we were outside to react to his unnecessary behavior. Strolled in here the other day after work to wet the whistle. Received the most delicious Miller High Life I have had in 7 1/2 years. So then I had another. So good my pants almost fell off. Not sure of the bartender's name, but he went by "Big Daddy Yum Yum". He smelled like a BLT. Good guy though. Spoke with some of the local regulars, and had a real good time. Except the conversation I had with "Ronnie". He spoke of the tuba and sousaphone. Apparently, one of them has three valves while the other has four or five. Door guys were pretty cool as well. My guess is, if you can't handle your alcohol, don't drink 6 beers at home and walk into a bar looking like an idiot. All in all, real good spot. Like Arnold. I'll be back. read more

This past Saturday a group of my closest friends came into town. We wanted to stay local and wanted to try out a new place further down the road. We decided to stop in at the last drop in hopes of playing some pool and hanging out. Our night turned sour the minute we arrived to this establishment. Never have I been so disrespected in my life. The bouncer at the door was so rude and inexperienced. He said he had been working the door for 5 years but yet couldn't tell the difference between a real Id and a fake ID. My friend, a 24 year old was not allowed into this establishment because the bouncer believed her Id was fake. Even when she presented 5 other forms of identification the bouncer still believed that it was not real. Mean while, he let our other friends who are 23 years old in with their out of state id's along with a passport. The manager behind the bar was even more disrespectful and even acknowledged that the bouncer had made a mistake but yet had to "back him up on his "decision". Needless to say we finished our round of drinks that we bought and took our money else where. We ended up at the Green Briar where we were treated with respect and had a blast. Sad to see a local establishment turn away good money. You might want to hire door staff who are properly trained and who have taken a class similar to TIPS. Coming from a restaurant industry i am disgusted with this establishment and their ways of handling situations. read more
