We ordered from Uber Eats and ended up throwing everything away for not taking a chance to get sick. Luckily Uber Eats refunded us, but damn this was disgusting.

Parking out front is limited but the turnover rate is fairly quick. A good hole in the wall lunch spot. The food is located to the right in the back and groceries are to the left. You also pay for your food at the register in the front. They have daily specials and the portions are not only generous but inexpensive. There's seating inside so you can dine in should you choose. I got the goat with rice and maduros. The maduros hit the spot. I had to resist ordering empanadas too because my feasting eyes were bigger than my stomach. I was so full from my meal I took half home and didn't have room for the guava pastelitos I was eyeing for dessert. The colada was a perfect pick me up for after lunch and all my co-workers enjoyed it when I brought some. So definitely a good value for lunch or for your afternoon coffee. They also do breakfast foods too in the morning but I never gone there except for lunch.

Trying to find a great sandwich shop in Lutz on a Sunday isn't easy, but thanks to Yelp I found The Latin spot. First and foremost, it's a market with all kinds of Latin food items, produce and cold drinks. It also has a Deli and butcher shop, which was why we came. They have some sundries as well, shampoo, soap ,and other such products, i didn't pay too much attention. They even have Colombian food products! My focus was the Food they make in the back, namely Cuban sandwiches. Being a Tampa native and spending a great deal of my youth in Ybor city working and playing, I have a high standard for Cuban sandwiches. I must say this is one of the best cubans i have had outside of the Ybor City area. It was hot pressed and you can customize your toppings for a non traditional cuban, I added Mayo along with mustard and pickle. Blasphemy! It was great, hot toasty cuban bread housing a big portion of meat and cheese at a good price. They have hot foods ready to eat like yellow rice and black beans, red beans, and other Latin favorites. It all smelled wonderful. Upon smelling the food i also ordered the black beans and yellow rice and they drizzled it with juice from the beans. It was a huge portion for only $3.99. The flavor was there, and texture was right on point. My friend got Plaintains also and she thought they were under cooked, but i thought they were just fine. I noticed an espresso machine and i found myself unable to go without a café con Leche. I was rewarded with a piping hot delicious coffee that had me wired in no time. All of this food and drink in my belly made for a great Sunday afternoon. There is outdoor and indoor seating for enjoying your food right on the spot. Which is hard to avoid, it smells so good in there. Do yourself a favor, if you find yourself at Lutz lake fern and US 41 stop in for a cuban and a Coffee.

And the staff? Literally the sweetest people ever. They're fast, friendly, and make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. This isn't just a coffee shop, it's a whole experience. It's run by a group of women who feel welcoming & happy to see you, in the way they greet you and move with purpose behind the counter. Service is fast, friendly, and they make it look effortless. Their drinks? Always on point. They made me a cookie butter latte -- iced, hot, whatever it technically was -- and it was ridiculously good. Their breakfast-style bites hit the spot too. The muffins, the bagels... I can't even remember everything I've tried, but I remember it all being delicious. That's the important part. The space has this inviting brick-and-wood vibe that gives it a little "up north" feel. Comfortable seating, pleasant atmosphere, the kind of place you can sit with your thoughts or escape the house for a bit. They've also got juices and boba teas, and honestly, I haven't had a single thing from their menu that missed. If you live in the area and want a spot that feels like your spot -- freshly brewed coffee, good food, good people -- Grind Haus is it.

The staff... both the guy with the tablet who took my order while I was in the drive-thru line-and the gal at the window-were so warm, friendly, chill and helpful. I'd go back just to bask in their positivity! But kindness isn't the only thing on the menu. There's coffee, tea, plant-based energy drinks, Italian sodas... and dozens (I think 75) of flavors you can add to them. In a fist visit, I usually start with chai tea latte... but today I asked for suggestions and ended up with a hot hibiscus tea with added pear flavoring. It was so floral and different! Hello new year! This knocked "the usual" on its head. I'm not sure that it will end up being my favorite offering here, but yeah... here's to shaking things up! I also tried the rainbow bagel-which was pretty and tasty. I liked the chew. Next time I'll try the strawberry cream cheese with it. There are filled croissants, too... but I forgot to ask about the flavors-and you can get mini donuts, too. White Duck was founded by a couple of Seattle transplants, who wanted to bring the "two windows in a shed" model of Pacific Northwest coffee shops to the Bay Area. And that's exactly what this is-a drive thru-no indoor seating-and I didn't see any outdoor tables, either. This is grab and go. But there's parking behind the building, if you want to sit and savor a bit. The shop is way up on North Dale Mabry-near Van Dyke-on the east side, right next to a Wendy's. It wasn't busy when I first got there but there at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning, but it soon picked up. I can see why... it's so convenient and the staff is so nice. They really stand out. I can't wait to stop in again and try more! I read on the website that the owners lost a child to cancer and part of the proceeds from each purchase goes to research. Well now I just have to try all those 75 flavors! See you soon, White Duck!

Inside this winding housing development, you'll find a small shopping plaza-gasoline on one end, dry cleaners on the other... and in between those bookends, a string of small businesses. And behind the door with all the flowers around it: Perfect Press Coffee. It's a hopping and popping kind of place. I've been there twice in the last year-and it's busy. It's a fun mix of neighborhood moms with strollers-people stopping on the way to or from work-and a few remote work workers-who thrive in the happy buzz of a booming business. To the right when you walk in: coffee, tea and sweet and/or savory small bites. There's bench seating along the wall, several small tables and two little couches in the middle. The decor is cute, cozy, modern and slightly caffeinated. It's not a huge place but it's super popular. There are tables out front on the sidewalk, too. It's busy, but the skilled baristas keep things moving. On this most recent trip, I tried the ube matcha-my first. I liked it! There were lots of tempting pastries, etc-but I had a lunch date coming up, so I stuck to just the beverage. If you decide to stop in, bonus: this business shares space with a fun kitchen store that has everything from gourmet salts and oils-fun towels and mugs-and all sorts of other items. I should have bought the cola flavored candy bar. Next time! Yes, the parking lot is a little hectic-but be patient, it comes and goes in waves-you'll get a spot. Oh! And really nice restrooms. This is worth a stop and shop. I'll be back for round three.
