Now they are twice as expensive and they have half the staff members that they did just a few years ago. They forgot to ring me up when I got my food. What is good is their Medianoche, a smaller version of the Cuban Sandwhich on egg bread. The cuban and their roast pork are 2 more items they excel at. The rest is touch and go. After trying Cool Mo's coffee, I preferred Cool Mo's bacon/egg/cheese sandwich. While Pepo's has a bigger sized sandwich, Cool Mo's had the crunchier bread and bacon. Both places had good coffee con leche. Coffee is non-refillable. Place is busy for breakfast. Doesn't have napkins on each table. I didn't get any table napkin with my dish. There's not much table service as our server is busy prepping the Cuban sandwiches for lunch hour. Not her fault. She was nice. has A/C, wifi. The service was fast and friendly even though they were busy. The price was also good and the value was good. The western omelette was good. Loved how the eggs were cooked and the green pepper and onion was sauteed and delicious it needed cheese The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was also good. The bread would have been better if it was more crunchy. The Cuban toast was Good. I only wish they served lunch all day as I really wanted to try that Cuban sandwich!! I ordered two entrees from here through DoorDash. It's not the restaurant's fault, but my delivery was late. I ordered the pull pork with plantains, the chicken with yucca, 1 stuffed potato and 2 beef empanadas. The empanadas are on the larger side so one is great for sharing. I thought this was one of the best things from my entire order. It was flavorful, just a bit greasy. The stuffed potato was a miss. I won't be ordering this again. It lacked flavor and texture even with the stuffed meat inside. As for the entrees, while the portion of chicken was great, it looked like the pulled pork was a mere side. When in Tampa and craving a Cuban sandwich and a Devil Crab for lunch, I had to check out this long standing place. I ordered 3 Pressed Cuban Sandwiches. 2 all the way with lettuce and tomato and one without. I thought it was a little weird that the girl who was making them put all 3 in the press at the same time with the lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. Hot lettuce was a little gross. The other thing that was weird was when the sandwiches were taken out of the press, they were then reopened and wet roast pork was placed inside and then they were packed. up. There was no mustard inside so they tasted soggy with little flavor. I was not impressed and would not get a Cuban from here again. The next disappointing food item was the deviled crab. It had a nice shape but it was mostly all bread and the little spoonful of filling was not all crab meat. It was crab and bread mixed together, so really just a fried bread fritter. I was impressed by the portion size of the combo meals. The girl scooped 3 large spoonfuls of yellow rice into a styro container and then added 3 more large spoonfuls of green beans then 3 large tongefuls of roast pork on top and a spoonful of gravy. Seriously enough for 3 adult meals. Not my order but most of the people ahead of us were getting that togo. The restaurant had noone eating inside but the togo line was quite long at lunchtime. I'm giving it 5 stars for the food and service. Wow- I've tried many items and they've all been great. Our favorites are the pork and the Cuban sandwich. Lunches/dinners are very generous and takeout is great, too. The shredded pork is perfect! We like it with the Moro rice, black beans, green beans and plantains. And, their flan is delicious. I usually get Togo orders from here... and mainly at breakfast time. It is a total neighborhood staple and at 8am it is Jam packed with families and people having morning meetings and just lots of movement. They are super duper friendly and enjoy going there. We usually grab cafe con leche and a breakfast sandwich, either with bacon or sausage. They sandwich is amazing especially because the cheese is SOOO sweet! Talk about waking up your taste buds. I love it. The price is pretty steep at $9 for coffee & a sandwich, as compared to going out closer to Little Havana but I'll pay for the convenience. Stopped by for lunch today. We have not been in awhile. The staff were not very friendly. The food we had the Spanish bean soup was not hot. The Cuban had heavy Mayo and brown lettuce. My husband had voliche with green beans and rice. it was tasty but not hot it was like it had been left out and slightly warmer than room temperature. We were there at lunch around 1130. We did notice the staff very friendly with Spanish speaking customers but not with white non Spanish speaking like us. Would not go back to eat food that's barely warm sitting out in the hot warmers that obviously wasn't working. read more

Your lunch deal was great 4.95 and 5.95 for dark and light 1/4 chicken respectively with two sides. The chicken was good. Even Mocha, my puppy liked it lol, especially when we were sitting outside. There were a lot of other options but I did want to save my money. I would try it again especially since you are dog friendly.
