Worse place ever! New owners are terrible. They ignore their business hours. They open at 9 I have waited numerous times until 9:20 or later!! I started noticing my dog was very resistant to going and would pull back when I gave the leash to the person behind the desk. That SHOULD have been my first clue. Worse yet, they didn't properly comb out my long hair dog each time and little did I now but knots were forming next to her skin. The matting way deep in the hair and not visible. She had to be shaved. Mind you, I had been a loyal customer of the previous owner for 9 years. I would t trust them with my dog. Moving on. read more

From the moment I called the place, to the moment we walked in the door, and then taking my Gaga home: everything was pleasant for me and my dog. Thank you Obay and thanks also for the nice staff working in this place. Gaga is a 7 years old Golden Border Retriever and she is not into the groomers or the salons, that was before today's experience. Great place. We have a very large and neurotic cat who has always been unmanageable for any groomer either in store, mobile or who would come to the house. Hector has been his groomer 2x's a year for 4 years and out cat is so well behaved and happy to go there and get his lion cut. Hector is fabulous. Great staff and place to go for dog or cat. Laundromutt is absolutely great with my half Maltese half Shih Tzu. I'm particular with the way I like the eyes, ears and tail and they cut it perfectly. Besides that, they are the friendliest! I met the to manager Eric, owner Fernando and Hector the main groomer. I liked them so much that I boarded with them for a week. They sent me pictures on a regular basis and even picked up early in the morning and delivered my little one to my house the night I got home. You simply cannot find anyone better! read more

Thank you laundromutt. I needed a last minute bath for my Pup. I called and they fit me in. I was a little nervous because there were not a lot of yelp reviews. I came to find out they are new to the area, so that is why they are lacking reviews. Dont let this stop you. This place is fabulous. My normally shy dog did not want to leave. They even brought me in the grooming area to consult the trim she needed. She was gorgeous when i picked her up. I assure you this is the only groomer my Pup will be seeing from now on. read more

I have three cats and I only bring them here, I feel very comfortable leaving my cats here because I know they are in very good hands. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful, they always walk me to my car to help carry my cats :) and the groomer always does an amazing job and is so gentle with my cats. And I know this is true because there is a glass window where you can watch your pets being groomed.Will never go anywhere else, and very reasonable pricing as well! read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST place. I took my puppy Daisy there several times. She had long shaggy haired which I adored. We had ask for a trim once it was totally uneven. I figured she was a bit fidgety. Second time they ended up shaving all her hair off unevenly. Not only did they not trim her she was patchy. At first I didn't even recognize her. It was very clear that I was shocked and upset. I asked them why they did that and the receptionist laughed. read more

In this day and age customer service is becoming a lost art in the age of clicking a mouse and receiving instant gratification. But I can't click the mouse and get the nails trimmed on my puppies. In Encino there are several groomers. But one has so much attitude and while they do a good job on one of our dogs for regular grooming, they make me feel as if they are doing me a favor by me paying a ridiculous amount of money. I brought 2 of our small dogs to the competition a few months ago for a nail clipping. Both dogs are under 10lbs. All they did was clip the nails. They added $44 to our invoice for 5 minutes of time. This week I refused to go back. I went to that chain store which doesn't have such a good reputation. They wanted me to have a copy of my dog's vaccinations to trim their nails. Damn, I left that in my other tuxedo pants. So I dropped into the Laundromutt. Many years ago they had taken care of my poodle. We came in at the end of the day. Hector was awesome! He handled both dogs well. Did a great job clipping their very overgrown nails. My puppies have black toe nails, and clipping them when they are very long is tough cause you can't see the blood. But both puppies came back without a single nicked nail. Hector took the time to chat with us about our dogs. In addition he spent time talking to us about the different treats they had in the store. They carried a very very expensive dog treat that helps with dogs joints. Hector was knowledgeable about the product and we decided to give it a try. Hector noticed the bag I grabbed off the shelf had a short time till the expiration date. And went through his inventory and found me a more recent package. Then without me ever complaining about the price, Hector went online and showed us the best online pricing for the treats - Which was still expensive. And Hector matched the price! The service was great. His attitude was great. Hector now has 3 more dogs to add to his calendar! read more

They told me my dog would be ready in one hour and when I called two and a half hours later they told me one and one half hours more that they had a lot of dogs and hadn't started yet. I couldn't wait so picked up my dog without being groomed and they never even apologized. I will not be back. read more

We used to come to the old place here and this is a million times better. The dogs do not wait in cages as there are big stalls and the staff is just awesome. They walk the dogs during their grooming and clearly love them. The makeover is fantastic and the staff is tremendous. read more

Hands down the best dog groomer on the planet! My dog, Linus, hadn't been to a groomer in years because he used to get weird skin rashes as a result of who knows what at various other groomers in LA. Obay was so gentle with Linus, gave him the best wash ever (a gentle oatmeal bath,) and treated my dog like a king, he's never looked better and his coat has never been softer! Laundromutt used to be Pride'n'Joy. It's a little hard to find, tucked away in the CVS center. The staff is friendly and seems to really care about the animals. I have taken my dogs there several times and been extremely happy. My dogs are rescue dogs and are a little bit fearful and the staff made it a pleasant experience for them. They seem very experienced and the groomer asked specifically what we wanted done. The dogs come out looking and smelling great. The best part is that the prices are reasonable! read more

Not the best experience. I took my 2 little dogs to have their nails trimmed. The groomer not sure what his name was) said he had 8 years of experience & worked at a vet. He barely trimmed the nails and forgot both dogs du-claws, (not sure of correct spelling). Even after I asked him if he made sure to get them, he said yes for sure. I had to come back & Hector fixed their nails. He seemed to know what he was doing. 2nd the groomer put the mussel on my dog just for the heck of it. He was probably horrified to have a mussel on while held down to have his nails clipped. I was really upset about him not listening to me about that. And 3rd, I called to let them know in a very nice way but every time the other phone rang, Alex at the front desk ignored me & seemed like he didn't care. I even had to let myself out of the back because he was occupied with another complaint the 2nd time. Lastly, the owner Fernando suggested that if I wanted my dogs quick to shorten then They should trim all the nail until they hit the quick & they bleed. I replied that i heard that when u hit the quick it hurts and he then said not very much. Are you kidding me!!!! I will never take my dogs there again! If you do go then definitely request Hector! The 1 star I gave is only because he fixed their nail trim without my dogs freaking out. read more

While we don't have any pets that need actual grooming, we do have 3 cats whose nails need endless trimming and we're too chicken to try to do it while they struggle, try to bite, and make it a very unpleasant experience for both the cats and us (2 humans against 1 cat - cat wins!) No matter what they have going on in the work area, Hector always takes the carrier, disappears with it and brings us back a mani-pedi-ed cat in no time flat). I tell people who do have dogs who need grooming all about The Laundromutt because I want to make sure they stay in business a long, long time! (One other review mentioned the lack of attention to posted hours - that was true when they first took over but we personally have had no problem since then.) read more

I am a big fan of this dog groomer. First of all, they are open on Sunday, which is a big plus. The shop is clean and the dogs are treated very well. I have 3 dogs, all with different kinds of hair. The haircut is always appropriate for the dog, and the grooming also includes of the nails and ears. I cannot rave enough about the service and the employees. They are the best. I highly recommend the Laundromutt. I've taken our cat Coco there several times now, for a wash and a nail trimming- the Laundromutt offers low prices and prompt service. They are usually able to accommodate us when we call to bring Coco on a weekend with just an hour or two's notice...which is greatly appreciated by my wife and I, given how busy we are. I look forward to bringing Coco back here...she needs a trim and wash, but we are having a hard time getting her into our car. read more

Stella the Beagle got the works at Laundromutt today, including teeth scaling. She smells great and looks great. No need to make an appointment. They have a very caring and helpful staff. They even gave me some free "senior" dog food samples and upgraded Stella to an oatmeal bath. We will be seeing them again soon! read more

This place may seem clean or as if they know what they are doing from far, but they are anything but. I found this place through Yelp when I moved to the area and I was happy to support a small business. The people were friendly and the reception area seemed clean. However, the 3rd time I took my baby for a bath, she contracted kennel cough. She was coughing nonstop for well over a week. I took her to the vet, and thank gd, with antibiotics and steroids she became well. Mind you, my dog is 12 years old, getting an illness is more dangerous for her than a young puppy. Anyway, I quickly notified Laundromutt and the owner called me. At first he was defensive and told me there is no way that my dog got kennel cough there as this is "the first time anyone has ever complained." I mean are you kidding me? First of all, even if it was the first time, does that mean it couldnt have happened? Second of all, what if other dog owners did not realize that the groomer was the culprit and they never brought it to their attention? Anyway, after some back and forth, he agreed to "investigate." A couple hours later, he called me back, apologizing profusely, as he found out that my dog did in fact contract kennel cough from another dog who was there the same day as her and the owner admitted that they brought the dog there sick. I accepted his apology as I understood that it could not be completely his fault, maybe he didnt know, maybe he didnt hear the crazy cough that day from the other dog. He asked for another chance, and I said it was okay but just asked that he be more careful, maybe he shouldnt be leaving the dogs in closed spaces together, maybe he should ask the owners when they drop off their dogs if anything is going on that he should be aware of- you know, take better care of the animals he is so entrusted with by his customers. Fine. So i went back. The next time I picked up my dog after a bath, I noticed a cut on her nose when I got home. I felt concerned so I put neosporin on it and thought I wont even bring it up to the guy as he promised to take better care of the animals. A couple days later, I see that the cut had spread to the other side of her nose as well. It looked infected. Again, I had to take my dog to the vet by the doing of this careless person who has NO IDEA how to take care of the animals people trust him to. The vet confirmed- a cut and an infection. The cage he left my poor dog in for the hour or so she was there must have been so filthy that a small cut can turn into an infection. YUCK. Needless to say, this time, I will not forgive. This guy does not deserve to own a business where he has the lives of helpless animals in his hands. It is not fair to them. read more

this is honestly the best groomers in town!!! i love the owners too!! they were amazing to me and my baby. i have had the worst experience multiple times at the pet lovers resort, DO NOT FUCKING GO THERE!!!!!! worst service and apppointments broken, leaving my dog in the kennel all day and not even getting her groomed. finally after them breaking so many damn appts and me actually taking her in for an appt and them not doing shit for me i called the laudromutt the same day and they actually took me in that instant which was a life saver! because she was pretty gross at this point from the other place. they took really good care of her made her smell and look beautiful again and for alll the troubles i had went though they gave me a first time discount and a great recommendation on some better food for her as well. their prices are also super resonable and i will not be going anywhere else as long as im living in encino.
