I have now had the Purifi washing machine over 2 years. With the help of an electrician relative I diagnosed the problem - the lid sensor. Under the plastic cover there is a magnet enclosed and it senses whether the lid is closed. The piece looked fully in tact but once I removed it and bypassed the piece entirely, the washer works. Note that this is how you void the warranty but the company was never going to make good on it anyway. I never use the hot diaper cycle anymore out of fear that something else may break. But besides that I have been using the machine regularly for a while now. My only grievance is it starts to smell like mold if you leave the lid shut and don't wash anything for about four days. read more

UPDATE2: March 29, 2025. I received the laundry spinner two weeks ago and I have to say that so far it has been excellent. Seems to be well-made and spins clothes pretty close to bone-dry. The customer service from The Laundry Alternative was not what I have come to expect even in the Internet Age, but the product did arrive eventually and it is a quality product. Accordingly I have increased the rating to three (3) stars; if you can tolerate being kept in the dark for several weeks about the status of your order, then TLA's Ninja 3200RPM laundry spinner is a worthwhile purchase. Should something go wrong with the spinner I doubt I will be contacting TLA regarding repair; it looks like a pretty simple machine and should be no harder to self-repair than a small washing machine. UPDATE1: As of March 17, 2025, I have been notified by the third-party tracking app that my laundry spinner is in transit. Will update as/if the situation develops. ORIGINAL REVIEW: OK, so it's becoming apparent to me that this company either has gone or is on the verge of going out of business. Evidence: - my order remains unfulfilled more than two weeks after delivery was predicted (and a full month after I placed the order); - the company's third-party order tracking system has not updated status (not even to something like "Product Delayed") in the month since I placed the order; - in the interim, major retail outlets that sold this company's products have ceased to sell them, with Walmart even erasing its web page for the products; - online reviews going back to November 2024 show other consumers also have unfulfilled orders, as well as bad or nonexistent customer service experiences when seeking updates. I suspect I am out $165. Their products may be excellent, but an excellent product can only help you if you actually receive it. This company doesn't seem to follow its own return policy. We ordered one of their washing machines and found it to be too large for our apartment. We requested to return the device within the 30 day return window and sent it back through FedEx. The company is now ignoring all of our emails after they requested the tracking number. It's now been 2 weeks since the device was returned to their facility according to our tracking number. So I can't speak to the quality of their products, but if you order from them you should make sure that you definitely want their device because they don't allow returns. read more

Really happy with every aspect of this company. I have purchased their Wonderwash machine and their Ninja spin dryer. Both work wonderfully at a very affordable price. My building does not have laundry and to be able to wash and dry at home so easily is a big convenience for me. I used to spend 10 dollars per week on coin machines at the Laundromat. Now my only expense after shelling out maybe 180 on their 2 machines is about 20 cents per week on laundry detergent. The machines paid themselves off in less than 5 months. Now to address the customer service and aftercare. Seeing as the Wonderwash machine only cost me $55 when I bought it, the fact it comes with a 3 year warranty is pretty impressive. On top of this, the lid did actually crack after about a year of constant use (3 loads per week, every week). I emailed their customer service team and they shipped out a new lid the next day, no questions asked. Exceptional customer service, products and company in general. read more

I purchased the Nina soft spin dryer unit and although I did not use it often it worked well when i did but then suddenly it stopped working, which was very unfortunate. I called the company and was told the warranty had expired the previous month and all they could offer was a $50 discount for the purchase of a new unit. I wish this review could have been a more pleasant one, however, this is not the case. For those who don't know, the laundry alternative company sells Eco friendly products for laundry and septic system. I purchased two products from this company: the wonder wash & a mini counter-top spin dryer. Wonder Wash: excellent, which is one of the reason I'm not giving this experience a 1 star rating. This is a non-mechanical washing "machine" that works perfectly. Mini Counter-top spin dryer: This is where the problems began. I ordered my two products at the same time, in the same order. I picked up my packages from the ups store only to find out they had sent me two washers instead of the dryer. I contacted the company and was very polite explaining the mistake and what had happened. They promptly sent out the dryer and paid to ship back the washer to them. So far I was happy. A week later I finally received my dryer. The package had a nasty looking hole in the side of the box when I received it, which should have been a warning flag for me, but I decided to give it a shot. I removed the shipping elements as per directions, set it up and tried it out. First couple times it worked fine. Was a little on the loud side & vibrated a lot, however I was willing to deal with it, assuming the videos I had seen of this product were apparently low quality. This was not the case however. About 7 uses in, this product started to spark. I thought maybe it was some random fluke that wouldn't happen again so I let the machine cool down & didn't use it for a week out of fear. A week later and my husband needed clean clothes so I washed and went to dry, the machine refused to spin and sparked violently. My entire apartment was filled with a foul burned wires smell & at this point I was terrified. I rather promptly contacted the company again. I explained to them the situation and what was going on. They apologized and sent out another machine, no cost to me, nor did they make me send the broken one back in (which I refused to pay return shipping on in my email). The lady which emailed me explained she'd never heard of a problem like this and it was probably damaged in the shipping process. I did some research and also found no complaints so I decided to give it another go. 6 days later I got the new machine from the ups station. The box was in good condition so already I was feeling hopeful, however this was all for not. I again unpacked and set up the machine according to directions. Tried it out, without clothes in it, for a test run. This machine vibrates more then the other one did however I decided to try it out, (figuring at this point I've gone through so much trouble I might as well). I tried to spin the first load and found myself almost having to sit on this machine to prevent it from flying off the counter it was shaking so bad. I stopped several times and tried to re-balance the load thinking maybe it was my error, however no success. Not only that but I guess I got the Possessed because the machine started to spin on it own while on the "0" (off) position and I could not get it to stop without having to unplug it. I am currently emailing the company in hopes of getting my money back. I hope I'm not jinxing myself saying this but so far they have been very nice so I'm hoping they will let me return this thing. The supposedly have a 30 day money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty so we'll see. If need by I will edit my review. I've giving this a 2/5 because 1. I love my wonder wash, it works perfectly (maybe due to it being non-mechanical) and 2. thus far the company has showed excellent customer server. I rated this low due to the obvious issues I've had. I don't know if there is a dire need for more quality control or if ups is playing basketball with my packages, but two broken machines is really unacceptable. ***EDITED*** I have no choice but to edit my review. After MANY angry emails back and forth with this company in an attempt to return my broken spin dryer. I was not only insulted several times, talked down to, etc etc. They then told me I could return the machine at my cost of shipping and handling (almost 30 dollars) and they would refund my purchase price MINUS shipping and handling. This is outrageous considering they never actually sent me a working machine. Not only did they charge me $35 dollars s&h to begin with but at almost 30 dollars to ship it back and the machine costing me about the same, it really wasn't a refund at all. I really wanted to love this product, unfortunately I had some glaring issues with both shipping and product usage. After ordering the product from the site, I received the wrong product. I contacted support and got my product (the Drop, a portable washer/spinner) shipped to me. I've had it for about 3 weeks, and have only used it a handful of times. The most recent time, I smelt burning rubber during the spin cycle and the Drop started leaking from the bottom and making odd crackling noises and beeping. I only had a light sweatshirt in the spin basket, so I was definitely not overloading it. As you can imagine, this created a mess. I contacted support right away, and was offered a new product, but at this point with a faulty product and an incorrect one, I wanted to return the product and get a refund as I was still in the 30 day return period. The seller refused to communicate with me about the return and refund process for 2 days. I requested another Drop product, since they weren't communicating with me, but they have yet to respond. Frankly, I would not buy from them. I have never had an issue with sellers refusing to communicate, and I've never had this bad of an issue with a product I spent $150 on them. We wanted to love this machine. We bought the PuriFi fully automatic washing machine. On delivery it looked and felt well put together. It washed very well, quickly, and surprisingly quietly. But after about 10 washes out first machine quit on us. It totally died in the middle of a wash. We figured it was just a one off failure, we probably just got a bad unit. So we contacted the company, or at least we tried to. It took the better part of a week to get a 4 word response back from them. And then a few more days to get another follow up. Eventually they arranged to send us a replacement with no troubleshooting on our current machine very oddly. We quickly got our replacement and did one empty wash to clean the machine then did a wash with 5 washable diapers. It died again halfway through, full of water, and would not turn back on. Now we have been trying to contact this company, and have not been able to get a response through email or through the chat on the website. Don't even bother calling the phone # they have listed. It goes straight to voicemail and the mailbox is full! One thing we did notice about this replacement machine is that on the back it has a manufacturing date of almost 3 years ago. I'm guessing these machines are defective and they are just working through back stock they already have. That wouldn't be such a problem if they had some semblance of customer service but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have ordered a product twice from this company. It is a counter top spin dryer for an elderly widow with health challenges. The first one was about 8 years ago and it worked very well for her, but it is now having some problems. She contacted me to order a new one for her. However, the price was a little high for her fixed income. She called the company and spoke directly with the owner. He was very kind, and provided a discount for her to be able to get the product. I can attest to the accuracy in Jamie L.'s review. I, too, purchased the Wonder Wash and the Mini-Countertop spinner by the Laundry Alternative. I purchased through Amazon. The Wonder Wash is terrific. It's uncomplicated, has no motor and works as the company claims. However, it's the spin dryer that is the problem. It costs close to $100.00. When I received mine it did work and it was a great machine - for two months. Then, it died. I had read the reviews about the poor customer service. I, too, e-mailed the company to let them know that the spin dryer stopped working after two months. The response from Customer Service was rude, belligerent and insisted that the unit was "damaged in shipping" and that their other customers were happy with the product. I had "no right" to complain. Now, here's a bit of advice if you are going to purchase. Buy through Amazon.com. They have a satisfaction process and they contacted the Laundry Alternative and got me a full refund with no need to return the unit. My review for Amazon would be SIX stars! Here's the low-down. The Laundry Alternative spinner may work great when you first get it. However, a high percentage of these machines fail after a couple of months. They are cheaply made overseas and there is no way to fix them. The Laundry Alternative is very rude to customers and takes no responsibility for their products. A well-made spin dryer is wonderful. Clothes come out damp but very close to dry. Hang them up and they air dry within a few hours. Just don't go cheap and buy this machine. Buy a better unit. read more

Firstly you get what you pay for, my washer and dryer have excellent results and it cost less than $190. This is a full hands on approach, a regular load of 4 vests, 4 underwear, 3 shirts and 2 pants takes about 30min to wash, rinse and hang for drying. Things I like about this machine - quick, environmentally friendly, cloths super clean, extends the life of my cloths, teaches to appreciate the cloths you have. I purchased the Wonder Wash machine - it does work really well in cleaning the cloths and I use it every 3 days. Issues I found with the machine are. 1. there are little 'dowels' that don't always fit in the spaces they are designed for, so I used an epoxy putty to fasten them into place 2. the little suction cups hold down in the bath tub, so when you are finished and want to lift the machine it's hard to release the cups and peal them off, make sure the bath is clean and I tide little strings to the edge of the cups to pull them off easily. 3. To make life a little easier, I use a hose like device on the bath spigot to fill the machine. I also bought the spin drier- when this machine works it's fantastic, really does a good job. these are the issues I found. 1. my machine did not work when I received it, I read the other comments and realized that this is a common issue, this machine has many safety features, it's not the intent for the manufacturer to have a machine that does not work, the problem is that they regulations that need to be meet are over the top, the designers have to do crazy things before they are allowed to sell this machine because it's a high speed device. What did I do, there is a break bad at the bottom of the axis fro the spin dryer, I opened up the machine and disconnected the spring that keeps the axial from spinning. it took me about an hour to figure out and do. 2. Small drying loads, this machine will take small quantities of loads, but they only need to spin for 2 minutes. 3. I hold the machine down when it is working, it needs to be perfectly balanced, it's amazing how much water it removes when it is balanced read more

Ordered the mini wash plus and it was supposed to have 1 wash cycle and 2 rinse cycles. However it had 1wash cycle and 3 rinse cycles so it took me almost 50 mins to do a small load of laundry. 22 emails later I'm still trying to get the the rest of my refund back because they refunded me the amount of the shipping but not the amount of the mini washer itself. I finally had to file a claim with Paypal and was advised not to have any more contact with the company that they would take over the dispute and resolve the issue. I honestly cannot remember ever having such an issue with an online company as I have had with The Laundry Alternative. This company has terrible customer service but their products are great when they work. I have ordered two spin dryers and a mini wash plus. The spin dryers work well but I can't hook up the hose to the mini washer. Getting customer service to respond was like pulling teeth and it's been about three weeks now and I still can't hook up my washer. The company admitted that the instructions that came with the washer are horrible but they don't seem to know how to help me resolve my problem. Let the buyer beware! I've purchased three different items from The Laundry Alternative, The wonderwash, the spin dryer, and the Automatic mini wash plus. I live in a small apartment and there is not a laundry facility on the premises. I used to have to go to the laundromat to do all my Laundry. I came across their Eco friendly products online searching for countertop washing and drying machines. I purchased the the wonderwash and the spin dryer through amazon and their mini wash machine through their site. The machines have already paid for themselves. The wonderwash machine is a little bit of a workout, but gets your clothes clean fast, the spin dryer can dry a good amount of clothes, and they won't be completely dry just a little damp. The mini wash machine is awesome! Just plug it in, hook it up to the faucet and it has an automatic wash and rinse cycle. The Laundry Alternative offered a two year warranty on their products. A couple months ago the hose that hooks up to the mini wash machine to the faucet broke and they had another one to me within three days! Their customer service is kind of hard to get ahold of on the phone, but they get back to you via email pretty quickly. Their office is located on New Hampshire so times will be different for all of us here in Ca. I highly recommend this company if you can't always get to the laundromat. All I have to worry about is towels and the bedding. Love my laundry alternative products! read more

A few days ago I ordered the solaris dryer from the amazon site only to find the order was cancelled by Laundry Alternative. It was still on the amazon site as being in stock so I tried to order it again. My status remained as order being fullfilled instead of shipped so I called Laundry Alternative to find out what was going on with this product. The person I spoke to seemed to be very confused on simple questions but did inform me that they are in stock and I can go directly onto their site and order this. I got amazon to cancel my order through them, and ordered it directly through the Laundry Alternative website. About an hour later, I went onto the site and saw that my order had been cancelled, yet they charged my bank account. I called them up and they informed me that this item is out of stock. Whereas someone earlier told me they were in stock, I never would have ordered this. I was assured my money would be returned to my account within 3 business days, and I will be back here for another review on them if it is not. I do not have a lot of money and this puts me in a position where I cannot purchase anything similar to this product from anyone until the money is returned to my account. I bought my wonder washer from The Laundry Alternative. It is amazing!!! I would buy it over and over again. I use the wonder washer to wash all of my family's laundry. I save so much on energy and because of the type of well I have, I love how much water it saves compared to a traditional washing machine! It gets the laundry so clean! It's also excellent for washing delicate items like hand knitted and crocheted items! I have a laundry pod also. I truly thought I would like that better but it kills my arms. The wonder washer is easy to use and gets the job done! Their customer service is amazing!!! My tub broke where it connects to the washer, most likely due to how much I use it! I emailed them and they got me new parts in the mail right away! They are amazing! Their correspondence is courteous. This is such an excellent company.
