Once I had clothes dry cleaned and they came back smelling awful (not dirty or clean but like a very strong perfume). The second time I took a bridesmaid dress in to get hemmed. I should have known it was a bad idea when he didn't have me try it on but just asked how much I wanted cut off. When I went to pick up the dress, first of all he wasn't planning on giving me back the 3-5 feet of fabric he cut off until I demanded it (to make matching accessories) and when I got home to try on the dress is was completely uneven! Not only was the left side shorter than the right, but the sheer layer on top was shorter than the layer underneath. When I called to complain, he actually tried to tell me that I asked for it that way!!

In early April 2019, I took a pair of pants to be dry cleaned. The pant is styled with a large tie front belt that completes the look. It was attached to the garnet (see image of the dry cleaning receipt). Owner returns without the belt and then has the audacity to berate my extremely sweet, mild-mannered daycare provider when she goes to inquire about the belt. He even tells her that he doesn't care if I take my business elsewhere-there are plenty of customers in JP. Thinking this is one big misunderstanding, I go to the cleaner and ask him to help locate the belt. Should have been a simple request-long term customer, belt lost, let me be as helpful as I can. Not this guy-he gives a bunch of lame excuses (i.e., the belt was tagged differently, it wasn't on the pant, I might have dropped it, etc) and doesn't even try to help locate the belt. So I followed his advice and now take my business to someone who understands how to handle customers more appropriately. And Centre Cleaners-glad you can afford to lose a customer. Keep that up and it might cost you your business over time!

I like the personnel who make sure that your visit is productive and for the most part pleasant. Javier and Ralph are wonderful employees, as well as Melissa and the new man (who appears to run on AA Batteries), he is constantly in motion and always trying to help the patrons. I do have concern about the television and the Wi-Fi. I am there once a week sometimes twice and it helps to have the TVs working up until the time I leave usually around 9:00p.m. Recently, the TVs are automatically turned off at 7:00p.m. if not before that time. And the WI-Fi signal is very weak so if you are planning on doing a little work while waiting for the laundry bring your own "mifi". The owners need to shut the TVs off at a later time like before and turn up the WiFi signal. Otherwise, it's a safe, secure place to do laundry.

On top of that, there were obvious new stitches added that hadn't been there before, and they didn't even remotely match the fabric or color of the knit. I also brought in a trench coat, which came back with all the same stains untouched -- honestly, for the best considering what happened to the dress. When I returned to show them the damage, there was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to offer compensation. I had to request a refund myself. The employee handed it to me and simply walked away without even acknowledging the inconvenience. This place used to be excellent before the ownership change. Now it's an absolute mess. The laundromat is owned by a family- I primarily see the son, but at times, his father is also present, which has always left me with an icky feeling. His father STARES at patrons so intently, it makes you feel very uncomfortable. He polices you as you do you laundry and keeps the bathroom locked. You have to ask for permission to access the bathroom to wash your hands in between loads. Tonight, I entered just before 7 pm and there was another young woman attempting to do laundry. I say attempting because the washer machines she was using read "Error. No Sink Fill". She told the older man about this four times and he did nothing to resolve the issue. After her telling him multiple times, he called his son who came downstairs and moved her loads to other machines that I was about to fill. Due to the delay in getting a washer, my clothes were still drying at 8:50 pm since I had to wait for her to finish using the smaller washer machines. Shortly thereafter, the older man went to the breaker panel and turned all of them off stopping my clothes from drying. He then proceeded to turn off all the lights and told me to get out. I informed him that I could not pack my clothes in the dark and needed light to pack my still damp clothing. He STILL REFUSED and I proceeded to call 911 because I was standing in the dark with a very odd old man. The officers (one male and one female officer) arrived and the laundromat was still dark. I explained the situation to the police and he was still belligerent. After packing my clothing, the police and I attempted to leave the laundromat and he stood in front of the door. They had to yell at him to move out of our way so we could exit. This entire situation was completely avoidable and unfortunate as I'm choosing to share this disgusting story. They need to repair their machines, and better yet, STAY OUT OF NEIGHBORHOODS where you clearly don't trust your clientele. At the height of the pandemic when many were withdrawing their support of Asian-owned businesses in Boston due to a false and perceived connection with the COVID-19 infection, my household and I still continued to do laundry there while others sought out other laundromats. The treatment I experienced tonight makes me deeply frustrated and sad. I will be withdrawing my support from this business and letting other know. I am owed a refund, but most importantly, an apology.

The machines are new and they take credit/debit cards and cash! Can't beat that at all... There is AC in here and for the summer, humid heat: it feels great! I am sure when the winter months roll in; it will be nice and warm in here. The staff is very helpful; super nice and very accommodating. I went outside to get my 3 bags of laundry and the owner came outside and asked if I needed help. WiFi and TV is great in here so if you have a crappy phone with crappy service there is no need to worry. Has a nice little bathroom for their customers so overall this place is great. Prices are not too bad either so I highly recommend anyone to come down and give it a try. I know I will be back and make at this my spot to wash my laundry!
