II wanted to take this opportunity to thank the gardening crew that serviced our facility for over a year. Our grasses, shrubs and flowerbeds have never looked better. Multiple owners have commented to the board leaving your crew multiple compliments. Truthfully, we're sad to see them leave. Unfortunately, there was a little confusion with a board member. I thinks everyone has a love/hate tendency towards any HOA's. Nevertheless, our grasses have never looked this green. Maranatha Landscaping left my yard uneven and poorly graded. The sod sits too high against the concrete, water pools in several areas, and multiple sprinkler heads were buried two to four inches too deep. The lawn is spongy and difficult to mow without scalping. I paid a lot of money expecting professional grading and installation, but the finished work did not match what was promised in the written estimate. Based on the quality of the work, I cannot recommend this company. read more

The worst! A total rip off who doesn't stand behind their work. Hired them to do about $8,000 worth of work at my two properties. Including repairing backyard irrigation at one of the houses. According to another landscaper, Maranatha did NOT repair the irrigation system I paid for, and several new plants died as a result. We called and emailed Maranatha and made an appointment for them to review the irrigation and the dead plants, but they never kept the appointment. I am going to tell everyone I know about Maranatha's poor performance and will be hiring another landscaper. I will remove this post if Maranatha fixes this situation. I called to get an idea for a few plants I wanted to add to my yard. the service guy came to my house we decided on a few plants, also asked him if he thought the sprinkler coverage in 1 flowerbed was enough, he had me go to the timer turn that station on and said. yes that was good. weeks went by I never heard about the plants being brought over, after multiple phone calls, my patience wore off and I cancelled the order. I'm now getting a bill for $150 from Maranatha for "service". I called today, they say they told me there would be a charge to just come to my house, which isn't true. I would have never agreed to pay $150 just to have someone come out. Don't know of any other landscaping company here who charges to come out. The people on the phone are very rude and can't understand what happened even tho I've explained in emails and phone calls. Today after harassing me with mailed invoices and emailed invoices they wanted me to talk to the original person I spoke to so she can tell me again that she informed me of the charge to come out. THIS NEVER HAPPENED, Also after the fact I've been given 3 different amounts. One said I was told it's $25, another said I was told it's $125, and another said I was told it's $150. Don't call this business if you value your sanity and you like to be informed beforehand of charges and how they treat their prospective customers. Called for the free estimate of redoing my sprinkler system. Was told they "don't do estimates" and the cost is $125 per hour plus parts. So I said well how do I know how long it will take? The response was, "oh"; well let me see if someone can come out to your home. Asked if they did turf, said yes and I should measure it myself and it would cost $xx per square feet. How do I know if I measure correctly?! PFFTTT on this company - they do not do free estimates and expect me to do the legwork. Called them on 5/11/20 to obtain a quote for some work. On 5/14/20 they were scheduling to come up between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. They never showed up. Called them and they said they had my number wrong in the system, so when they called yesterday, it didn't go through so they just cancelled the appointment. They then asked for my number and said we can reschedule for next week. This is poor, poor customer service. While they were courteous, the offer should have been to come out this week still. I said no thanks and hung up. Hopefully they got the message. read more

I called Maranatha landscaping to have my sprinkler system in the front yard tuned up. The representative came out, went over the project scope in addition to some additional work to be done. I was promised a quote via email the next day but never received it. When I called their office they had no idea who I was.if the job was too small just say so don't promise then never deliver. I've recently been doing a major landscaping project and Maranatha has provided me outstanding service for my landscape supplies. Prices are reasonable with the exception of delivery, I like approximately 1 mile away and was hoping to get 10 yards of compost delivered but at a $45 charge I thought that was too much. If you are looking for someone to do an outdoor kitchen, shop around. Our quote from Eric, which we had to follow up getting, was over double what we paid- for a better product. Eric wanted his vision and it was not environmentally friendly either. The quote was laughable because it quoted the same thing on multiple items, but of course the price was multiplied too. We have never seen how an outdoor fridge would cost over $2200 to install (regular Bull fridge too). For the sake of your time and money, shop around. After we received the quote, which we knew was way overpriced, no one ever called to follow up. I wonder if they didn't because they knew it was a joke. Glad we didn't go with them and saved over $13,000. Thanks Marantha for not following up. We got a better product for half the cost in less the time. read more

0 stars if it was possible. The list goes on and on with this company and I just don't have enough time to cover everything but I wanted to warn others before they hand out money to this company. From the first time we had work done we were not completely satisfied from how small size of the plants to the three trees that died and then I was told I needed to have a soil test done or they wouldn't replace the trees. Once we decided to have more work done we had them quote it and they were going to credit us for the trees and add some more for free. It all sounded good so we were willing to take the chance again. After dropping off my deposit and being told we would be "put on the board" I text Eric about the lead time, he text back 4-6 weeks before they would start so we waited the entire 6 weeks before contacting them, I was then told 3-4 more weeks...okay, they are busy and things happen, I get it. So we wait another 4 weeks and was then told another 4-6 weeks and that they did not know where we came up with 4-6 weeks originally. So I sent a screen shot of the text from Eric and they came back and said well you are #3 on the board, mind you this is 18 weeks after I put down the deposit! I had finally had it and called to cancel and was told "oh, but you are number one on the board now and we were just getting ready to call you and schedule for the next couple weeks. I said no thank you and got my deposit back. We have since found two companies that are giving us way more for our money and are getting to it much quicker. After getting multiple bids it is clear we could have gotten a much better deal the first time and I wish we had never used them the first time. I would never consider using or even getting a quote from Maranatha!!!!!! read more

After having prior problems with our first contractor with building a block wall shared by neighbors that wasn't built up to code and needed to be demolished and redone, we talked to Eric about his Co.doing it. We got three bids but my husband and neighbor decided to go with Maranantha because of Eric's Christian values, thinking that would be associated with trust and honesty as well. The time frame he gave us was 10 days. He quoted the price and the ordeal started a few days later. The project kept going on and on, his workers were really inconsistent about when they came and went! Showing up usually around noon. Taking a lunch break an hour or so after they came, and stopping for the day as early as 2:00-3:00. Most job workers are ready to go by at least 8:00am. The wall was built entirely by a husband and wife team. Albeit there were three or four days of rain that prevented them coming, but the project was just finished for a total of 8 weeks!! Then Eric tried to deny that he verbally told us that he would pour cement in a 10" space to fill in between fence and walkway, included in the quote. So he charged us another $500 to do this or leave it unfinished. He claims to be a man of his word but HE IS NOT! Half the time when I called him to see when the workers would be back, he said" I thought that project was done!" Completely oblivious to what was happening. He never came by to check on the job one time during construction, so no he wouldn't know what was going on! His hard luck story was that he under bid our job by $3,000 and instead of telling us, he decided to leave it like it was. So in the end he's trying to charge us for extras that were to be included at the get go to make up for his mistake! So done with hiring people that are incompetent. Had a 7:30am-8:30am appointment. Had to be somewhere at 9am so I left at 8:45 after they were a no show. 9am I get a call that they are in my yard to look at it. I talked to the guy on the phone and explained what I wanted to do. He sent me a few pictures over text and we agreed with a plan. He said I would be receiving the quote via email. Now 7 days later and nothing. I have since hired someone else who starts today. I wanted to hire them but poor customer service. read more

We've had issues with our sprinklers and decided to give Maranatha a try based on price and being the earliest available to come out (next day). They showed up a bit early, which was fine by me. We only had a broken valve so it was an easy fix that only took about ten minutes. They were quick and professional, and even took a look at our timer which we thought was broken. They were able to reset it and program it for free which was just an added bonus. They'll definitely be the first we call when we decide to add sprinklers in the back yard. They do accept credit cards, but you have to call it in to the office after they leave. This wasn't a problem for me but others may prefer to have a check ready to avoid the process. read more

I had some sprinkler issues happening beyond the expertise of my husband (valve and flooding issues). I have had several companies out for estimates. Not only was office staff at Marantha friendly over the phone, but the gentlemen providing the estimate and service were awesome! Very professional! Marantha was competent and honest. The other estimates from their competitors we received were outrageous and were wanting to replace things not needing to be. I also had a contractor tell me he needed tear up my concrete to get to sprinkler valves. Marantha told me exactly what I needed at a reasonable price. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Last August we asked Eric to come out and redo our hill landscape. We wanted something low maintenance as we aren't able to maintain it any longer. He talked us into clearing the weeds, changing the watering system and adding more ground cover (which either never took hold or they put In so little, we just can't see it). It looks worse now than it did before. Being retired our money is limited so it is devastating that we spent this much money and our hill looks no better. Also, they never followed up on their own, we always had to call them and remind them what they promised they would do. read more

Serious problem with occluded pvc piping outflow from valves. Called Mike at Maranantha. Appointment next day, arrived early and with his two nice young sons. Went right to work evaluating problems, checking and repairing various valves (I have 12). Confirmed occluded pipes. Would cost $1500 to dig out tree roots and replace. Mike looked it over and came up with ingenious solution to connect that station with another station just a few feet away. Came back the next day, easily laid the new pvc pipe between two sprinkler stations and bundled the valve wiring. Good water pressure still produced good pattern with all the sprinklers from two stations running on one working valve now. Total cost for 2 days work less than $300, well under what I thought it would be. Mike is hard worker and a total professional at his vocation. I was totally impressed and pleased. You can bet that he will get all my landscaping needs and service in the future. Highly recommended. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more
